The Sword God of the Universe

Chapter 373: Chapter 373: The Jing Family Boils Over Chapter 373: Chapter 373: The Jing Family Boils Over A palm strike burst forth, instantly beheading two elders from the Sun Family and the Zheng Family.

Two potent beings in the Innate Realm could not withstand a single blow in front of Jing Yan, as if they were no more difficult to kill than two little chickens.

The clan leaders of the Sun and Zheng families witnessed their own family’s elders being slain, and their hearts sank into the Abyss.

In the face of Jing Yan, they truly had no room to resist.

If they did not comply, the only path left was annihilation.

Now, having sacrificed an elder from each of their clans, they had at least preserved their family’s foundation.

“Clan Leader Zheng, Sun Family Patriarch, since you have handed over the murderers of my Jing Family Guards, I will not pursue the matter further.” Jing Yan gazed at the two clan leaders.

“Thank you, Young Master Jing Yan!” Both men had complex expressions; they had to thank Jing Yan, even after he had killed their family’s elders.

To say it wasn’t suffocating would be a lie.

But no matter how stifling or dismal they felt, they had to endure it.

They didn’t even dare show any discontent toward Jing Yan.

“Hmm!” Jing Yan waved his hand, “There is another matter I would like you two families to undertake.

If you are willing and manage it well, then I can consider that your two families are loyally submitting to the Jing Family.”

Jing Yan added another sentence.

The two clan leaders felt a chill in their hearts.

“Please give us your commands, Young Master Jing Yan!” They knew that no matter what Jing Yan asked them to do, they had no liberty to refuse.

“You should know, the Dong Family and the Zhou Family, these two clans have committed crimes far more severe than the Sun and Zheng families.

For these two clans, I do not intend to forgive them.

Therefore, I would like you two families to take the lead in exterminating the Dong and Zhou families.” Jing Yan narrowed his eyes.

In truth, looking at the current situation, for Jing Yan to annihilate the Dong and the Zhou families was an effortless task.

With a single command, those two families would be razed to the ground within two hours.

However, Jing Yan still chose to have the Sun and Zheng families lead the charge, naturally to wear down these two families’ fighting strength.

Jing Yan did not have to destroy the Sun and Zheng families, but the mistakes made by these families couldn’t simply be compensated for by sacrificing an elder each.

Jing Yan intended to imprint on their minds that betraying the Jing Family was not within their power.

Upon hearing Jing Yan’s words, the faces of the Zheng Family Patriarch and the Sun Family Patriarch began to turn a sickly pale.

They were sharp individuals who understood Jing Yan’s motives.

“Young Master Jing Yan, the Dong and Zhou families indeed deserve no forgiveness.

But…

the Zhou family is manageable, roughly equal in strength to my Zheng Family, but within the Dong Family, there are no less than five Martial Artists at the Innate Realm.

Combined, my Zheng and Sun families have enough strength to match the Dong Family,” remarked the Zheng Family Patriarch, bracing himself.

The Sun Family Patriarch also looked pitifully at Jing Yan.

“Don’t worry about this,” Jing Yan confidently reassured them, “The Jing Family has your back.

Heh, did you really think I’m one to speak carelessly?

I said I would no longer delve into the faults of your two families, which naturally means I won’t allow your families to be destroyed by the Dong and Zhou families.

Just do your best.”

Jing Yan wore a smile.

He wouldn’t let the Sun and Zheng families be annihilated, but it was certain that they would suffer greatly weakened vitality after this battle.

“Furthermore, if you work with all your heart and might, then the Jing Family will not stint rewards to your two clans.

Take, for instance, the Holy Spirit Potion.

After wiping out the Zhou and Dong families, perhaps you might receive the reward of the Holy Spirit Potion,” Jing Yan said with a smile.

A slap followed by a sweet date.

Jing Yan couldn’t let these two families lose all hope entirely.

Weakening their power was the punishment for them.

After punishment comes rewards for achievements made.

Indeed, upon hearing from Jing Yan that their families might also receive the Holy Spirit Potion as a reward, the eyes of both clan leaders brightened instantly, and their demeanors became lively.

Their families had just lost two Innate Realm elders, suffering heavy losses.

But if they could obtain the Holy Spirit Potion, perhaps new Innates would soon arise within their clans.

“Young Master Jing Yan, I will return to my clan to gather forces immediately.”

“Young Master Jing Yan, my Sun Family will also immediately start gathering forces to prepare for battle.”

The patriarchs of the two families both hurriedly said.

“Young Master Jing Yan, my Shui Family is also willing to join this battle!”

“My Xu Family would also like to join this fight!”

“…”

One after another, the clan leaders clamored for battle.

Now was their chance to show their worth.

A good performance might even bring about the reward of the Holy Spirit Potion.

Even if a good performance didn’t guarantee the potion’s reward, failure to perform would definitely bring no good to their clans, only harm.

“Ha-ha, esteemed clan leaders, no need to rush.

You can all help.

However, this battle needs to be led by the Sun and Zheng families.

You will only assist them, do you understand?” Jing Yan said, eyes piercing.

“We understand!”

No one said anything unnecessary; they all grasped Jing Yan’s intent.

“Alright, the Reward and Punishment Assembly is hereby concluded for today.

Clan leaders, you may disperse!” Jing Yan waved his hand and loudly declared the end of the assembly.

These family heads then came forward to bid farewell to Jing Yan and Jing Chengye before departing one after another.

“Jing Yan, isn’t the promise of so many Holy Spirit Potions as rewards a bit excessive?”

Once outsiders had left, Jing Chengye couldn’t hold back any longer and voiced the question he had suppressed for a long time.

Watching Jing Yan bestow a total of fifteen bottles of Holy Spirit Potion, Jing Chengye’s heart bled.

Other resources he was not so spare with, but the Holy Spirit Potion was a precious commodity that couldn’t even be bought with Spirit Stones.

“Yes, Jing Yan, in essence, there’s no need to give away the Holy Spirit Potion to outsiders.”

“Our Jing Family also has a great need for such medicines.”

“Jing Yan!

How on earth did you acquire the Holy Spirit Potion, and can you get more of it?”

The Jing Family Patriarch and elders all began to speak, their eyes avidly fixed on Jing Yan.

Of course, they were all thinking of the family, not personal gain.

Since they were all in the Innate Realm, they had no need for the Holy Spirit Potion.

“Patriarch, esteemed elders, don’t worry!” Jing Yan said to them with a smile, “Do you really think I wouldn’t keep some of the Holy Spirit Potion for our own family?”

“What?”

“Jing Yan!

Are you saying you still have Holy Spirit Potions left?”

“How many potions do you have?

Our Jing Family has come across quite a few promising individuals over the past year, and if we had the aid of the Holy Spirit Potion, a considerable portion of them could advance to the Innate Realm quickly.”

Everyone became excited and eagerly questioned Jing Yan.
