The Sword God of the Universe

Chapter 372: Chapter 372: Slapped to Death with One Palm Chapter 372: Chapter 372: Slapped to Death with One Palm Jing Yan stood on reason with his words, firmly grounded in logic.

“You, the Xu Family, and others claim to be families within the Jing Family Camp, yet when the Jing Family fought a pitched battle against the Zhao Family, every one of you turned into cowering turtles.

Do you still have the face to say you’re of the Jing Family Camp?”

“The Shui Family and other families were originally part of the Zhao Family Camp, but they did not support the Zhao Family during the war.

This counts as a merit for the Jing Family.”

Upon hearing Jing Yan’s words, the higher-ups of the Shui Family and other families secretly nodded their heads in agreement.

They were also very grateful in their hearts.

They had originally thought that the Jing Family would settle scores with them for being part of the Zhao Family Camp.

However, they had not expected that, not only did the Jing Family not settle accounts, they even gave out rewards, which made them feel truly grateful from the bottom of their hearts.

“Young Master Jing Yan!

Jing Clan Patriarch!”

“On behalf of the Shui Family, I wish to say something.

From this day forth, my Shui Family is willing to share the Jing Family’s fate.

If I break this oath, may my Shui Family be exterminated!” The Shui Family Patriarch made a poisonous oath on the spot.

Although an oath may not have binding force in reality, for the Shui Family Patriarch to make such an oath before so many people sufficed to prove his and the Shui Family’s determination.

“I, the Qian Family…”

One by one, the other families followed suit with oaths of their own.

Perhaps some did not wish to swear such oaths, but there was no alternative; circumstances compelled them.

Others had sworn, and if they did not, what would the Jing Family think of them?

Clan Leader Xu was left speechless at this moment; he had nothing to say.

How could they not understand the logic in Jing Yan’s words?

“Young Master Jing Yan, it was shortsighted of me; you are correct.

My Xu Family indeed does not deserve more rewards.

However, today, here, I also swear an oath.

From now on, whatever orders the Jing Family has for my Xu Family, we will strive to fulfill them to the utmost,” Clan Leader Xu declared loudly.

“Mm!” Jing Yan nodded.

“Ladies and gentlemen, as long as you truly support the Jing Family, my family will absolutely not mistreat you.

I guarantee that as long as you are loyal, the growth of your families will be faster and better in the future!” Jing Yan said with a smile, “Donglin City will also become stronger and stronger.

Right now, Donglin City is just an unremarkable small city within Lanqu County City, but I believe that in ten years, the entire Lanqu County City will know of our Donglin City.”

Jing Yan’s words were powerful and resonant.

Many family heads felt their blood run hot upon listening.

Who wouldn’t want their own family to be powerful?

Who wouldn’t want their own city to be mighty?

When the city flourished, they, as native families, would naturally rise with the tide.

“Sun Family Patriarch!”

Jing Yan turned his gaze towards the Sun Family Patriarch amid the crowd.

Upon hearing Jing Yan’s call, the Sun Family Patriarch’s body trembled slightly.

Although envious of the rewards given to other families by Jing Yan, the Sun Family did not harbor any hope.

They knew what they had done; if the Jing Family spared their family, they should be burning incense in thanks.

As for receiving rewards from the Jing Family, that was a joke.

“Zheng Family Patriarch!” Jing Yan turned his eyes to the Zheng Family Patriarch.

Sun Family Patriarch and Zheng Family Patriarch, the two of them, came forward to pay their respects to Jing Yan.

“Your two families, hehe…” Jing Yan let out a cold laugh.

At Jing Yan’s cold laugh, both Sun Family Patriarch and Zheng Family Patriarch felt a chill run up their spines.

“Do you know your mistake?” Jing Yan fixed his gaze on the two.

“Young Master Jing Yan, we know we were wrong; please spare our Sun Family (Zheng Family)!” The two faced him, full of tragic admission.

“As families within the Jing Family Camp, when my Jing Family Guards sought your help, you didn’t assist, which is fine.

But then you killed my Jing Family Guards.

How do you reckon we settle this account?” Jing Yan asked with furrowed brows.

“Despicable!”

“Who would have thought the Sun and Zheng Families could be such betrayers and oath breakers!”

“Utterly disgraceful!”

The surrounding jeers made the two patriarchs even paler.

“Young Master Jing Yan, we indeed committed a grave mistake, but please give our families a chance,” the Sun Family Patriarch said franticly, “We had no choice, the Zhao Family had several strong practitioners of Dao Spirit Realm, and the Jing Family back then…”

“You thought the Jing Family was doomed beyond doubt, right?

So you killed my Jing Family Guards seeking aid, trying to curry favor with the Zhao Family, is that it?” Jing Yan scoffed coldly.

“Young Master Jing Yan, you are a reasonable man; the situation was genuinely like that at the time.

We were trying to preserve our families!” Clan Leader Zheng pleaded.

“To preserve your own families, you could have chosen not to help the Jing Family, just as Clan Leader Xu and his kind did, and I wouldn’t blame you.

But the problem is, you killed my Jing Family Guards.” Jing Yan said angrily.

“We…” The two tried to speak again.

“Enough, no more nonsense.

For your two families, I’ll give you a chance.

Whoever laid hands on my Jing Family Guards must die.

The rest may live,” Jing Yan waved his hand and decisively cut off their words.

Sun Family Patriarch and Zheng Family Patriarch exchanged a helpless look.

Although their two families had killed Jing Family Guards, they hadn’t sent troops to assist the Zhao Family against the Jing Family.

If that had been the case, they wouldn’t have dared to attend this merit awarding ceremony, like the Dong and Zhou Families.

“I don’t have much time for you to consider slowly.

Either hand over the person who killed my Jing Family Guards, or face the extermination of your families,” Jing Yan demanded, “I’ll give you three breaths to decide.”

Naturally, Sun Family Patriarch and Zheng Family Patriarch did not want to hand over elders from their families.

Those who killed the Jing Family Guards were their elders.

But if they did not hand anyone over, Jing Yan would destroy their families.

Moreover, Jing Yan only asked for the execution of those who acted, which was already an overwhelmingly generous offer.

With so many families present here nearly all subdued by the Jing Family, it would be nearly impossible for them to get someone to stand with them against the Jing Family.

They believed that with just one word from Jing Yan, the people here would probably not hesitate to strike and wipe out their two families in an instant.

They could feel the hungry gazes around them, like hungry wolves ready to pounce, merely waiting for Jing Yan’s command!

The three-breath duration passed in the blink of an eye.

“Elder Sun Shan, come forward.”

“Elder Zheng Ming, sigh…” The clan leaders of both families compromised.

Without compliance, their families would have been wiped out.

Now, by handing over those who killed the Jing Family Guards, they could at least save their clans.

“Clan Leader!”

Both elders were well aware that by being handed over, they were facing a one-way trip to death.

They did not want to die; sensing the clan leaders ready to hand them over, they panicked, crying out in a desperate struggle.

“Die!” Jing Yan’s Primordial Energy whirled in his hand, and he blasted towards the two elders.

The elders of the two families had no way to resist and were crushed to death by the mighty Primordial Energy in the blink of an eye.
