Chapter 1072: Chapter 1072: Forbidden Technique, Puppet Grass

However, they didn’t expect their luck to be so bad this time.

They entered Shuiqi Island without being stopped or discovered, but since they wanted to sneak into the city to look for clues, as soon as they entered the city, they noticed a problem.

Shuiqi Island is indeed beautiful, with lakes and mountains outside the city, and the city itself is a water metropolis, so beautiful it feels like walking into a fairyland.

This water city should have been bustling with boats coming and going, a place full of music and laughter. But when they arrived in the city, the crisscrossing waterways were strewn with many empty boats, yet not a single person was in sight.

Han Jing couldn’t help but remember when they first went to Xia Gui Island, encountering similarly eerie circumstances.

Is it such a coincidence, what’s happening here?

Could it be that wherever they go, something happens?

This is just too strange, isn’t it?

But since none of them had been to Shuiqi Island before, they didn’t dare to act without hesitation. They hid by a stone bridge quietly, waiting to see if they could discover any clues later.

Unexpectedly, they hadn’t even waited for an hour when people started appearing one after another.

Except, these people all looked expressionless, walking past Han Jing and the others like wandering souls, hunching their backs without noticing them.

Han Jing twitched his lips and asked Lianwu, ”Have they all lost their souls?”

Why do they look like walking corpses?

Lianwu shook his head, ”It’s not lost souls, it looks like they’re poisoned.”

”Poison?” Han Jing reflexively looked at Ning Shiqi, ”Shiqi, is it really poison?”

Could it be that all the citizens of Shuiqi Island inexplicably got poisoned? And is there such a strange poison?

Ning Shiqi reached the shore, flicked a few silver needles, which sank into the water and then flew back to his front. After inspecting them, he said confidently, ”This poison is called Puppet Grass, a type of aquatic plant that reproduces rapidly. Once a seed is spread, it quickly permeates the entire water source, and anyone who contacts the water gets poisoned.”

”Puppet Grass? What happens after being poisoned? Do they become like those citizens?” Han Jing asked in surprise.

Ning Shiqi shook his head, ”It’s not that simple. Puppet Grass is one of the most sinister voodoo techniques from ancient times. The poisoner cultivates Puppet Grass with their own blood, and after it matures, anyone poisoned will be controlled for two hours every day. The poisoner can manipulate them to do anything, but after those two hours, they regain consciousness and completely forget what they’ve done. Additionally, Puppet Grass is a sinister poison capable of controlling even Divine level experts; it has always been a forbidden technique.”

Ning Shiqi sighed, ”I never imagined that even today, such sinister poison could still exist in the world.”

It shows how thoroughly the ancient texts of the Ning Clan were plundered when they were annihilated. One wonders what the Ning Clan members still residing on Ningxi Island in the Futu Realm think when looking at the current Futu Realm. They knew too much and mastered too many things, yet they never used these for harmful purposes. Although, even he couldn’t comprehend how such things were created.
