The Deadly Hitwoman: The Heiress's Special Abilities

Chapter 1029: Chapter 1029: The Whereabouts of Those People

Xia Wu has many male companions, but she has never managed to have children. Han Jing heard from that uncle before that it seems not really a secret. It seems the members of the Xia Clan even wish she would adopt an heir, but she has never agreed.

Madam Su sighed and continued, ”This matter has always been a major issue for the entire Xia Gui Island, after all... it concerns the island’s inheritance, so almost every few years, the Xia Clan members stir up some noise about it. Until about eighteen years ago, when I had just given birth to our Huan’er, the Island Master left Xia Gui Island for some matter, and was gone for over a year, so everyone knew. When the Island Master returned, she was heavily pregnant, and after less than a few months, she gave birth to Miss. Miss has a pair of delicate light-colored emerald eyes and bears some resemblance to the Island Master, so no doubt she is the Island Master’s biological daughter.”

”With Miss, Xia Gui Island can be said to have an heir, even though Miss has a heart condition, but the Island Master has carefully nurtured her, so no mishaps have occurred. They say with proper care, Miss’s body can still bear children. So the clan members have no more to say. In the following years, Xia Gui Island remained quite peaceful.”

After listening to Madam Su, Han Jing understood. In other words, Xia Zhuzi was conceived when Xia Wu left Xia Gui Island, and she left alone, and was gone for over a year, returning a few months before giving birth, meaning the child had nothing to do with those men on the island in her residence.

And no one returned with her, so no one knows who Xia Zhuzi’s father is.

”Then what about those male companions in her residence?” Han Jing asked.

Her question was too straightforward, making Madam Su a bit embarrassed. However, Xia Wu keeping male companions is even less of a secret on Xia Gui Island, so it wasn’t a difficult topic to discuss: ”About two years ago, because Miss slowly grew sensible, and Miss is fond of reading, perhaps reading too many books, thus her ideas were somewhat... different from ours. She was somewhat against the Island Master keeping male companions, it seems... she argued with the Island Master about it. The Island Master, with such a beloved daughter, adored like the apple of her eye, terrified of any grievance she might suffer, additionally because she has a heart condition, thus everything is done according to her wishes. Therefore, those companions were gradually sent away.”

Madam Su sighed, ”Alas, one must say the Island Master truly loves Miss, although... indeed our Huan’er is unworthy of Miss, but for all those years previously, the Island Master never opposed their association, and we all thought the Island Master tacitly approved of it, so we never interfered. Huan’er, he... he is genuine towards Miss, and as parents, we can’t oppose our children. We think as long as he’s happy... who would have thought...”

At this point, Madam Su couldn’t help but tear up.

They really weren’t trying to climb up the social ladder. Speaking frankly, Miss’s health condition meant they weren’t keen on making her a daughter-in-law, but since their son was so infatuated, they privately murmured but dared not speak out. Who would have expected, in the end, it would turn out like this.

Madam Su’s tears flowed even more fiercely.
