The Deadly Hitwoman: The Heiress's Special Abilities

Chapter 1024: Chapter 1024: Intense Instinct

Han Jing carefully observed Su Huan’s every move, confirming that every bit of his emotions was instinctive, without any pretense.

So Han Jing could almost be certain that he really didn’t know what had happened.

This made it all the more baffling.

As the person involved, was Su Huan completely unaware when he had a dispute with Xia Zhuzi, leading to Xia Zhuzi’s sudden illness and death? Or was there someone else who had the dispute with Xia Zhuzi?

”Don’t get agitated first, do you remember what happened at the time?” Han Jing locked eyes with Su Huan, trying to soothe his emotions.

Su Huan indeed took quite a while to recover from the shock. After a while, he finally said: ”I...I got injured when I returned, and didn’t take care of things for her. I was afraid she wouldn’t be happy. I was thinking about how to cheer her up, but she said she would find someone to treat my injury. I saw her rushing and got very worried, so I followed her, and then... then... then I don’t know. I don’t know what happened. I only know that when I came to my senses, she had already fallen before me, breathless. I... I was completely stunned at that moment...”

Su Huan held his head, desperately shaking it, his voice filled with pain: ”I...I really don’t know what happened, what actually happened, why I have no impression of it at all...”

”Then the place where you saw her fall, was it where you last regained awareness? Did you hear Xia Wu say things like you are not capable, not worthy of Xia Zhuzi?” Han Jing continued to ask.

Su Huan shook his head: ”No, no. When I chased out, I was already near the Island Master’s yard, but when I came to, and saw Zhu’er fallen in front of me, it was...”

Su Huan tried hard to recall the scene at that time, suddenly saying: ”It was in the little garden in Zhu’er’s yard! Yes, that’s where it was! When I would occasionally visit her, we’d often go to the little garden in her yard. That little garden is behind her yard, very quiet. She always didn’t like people following...”

He was completely stunned at that time, not paying attention to where he was. Now that Han Jing asked, he instinctively remembered that when he saw Zhu’er fall in front of him and hadn’t reacted to what happened, many people came and said Zhu’er was dead, dead...

In his mind, there were only those two words, his whole world seemed to collapse instantly.

Recollecting now still suffocates him with pain, but because that place is so familiar, when he recalls it now, he still remembers—it was in the little garden, that belonged to them, with many beautiful memories...

But he never dreamed that the greatest tragedy and nightmare of his life would also occur in that place filled with the most beautiful memories.

Su Huan’s spirit was almost collapsing; some things, if not thought about, allow self-deception to continue, but when remembered, reveal a reality of unbearable pain.

His pain and sadness were too intense, so intense that it was absolutely impossible to fake.

During Su Yu’s uncertain life and death, Han Jing experienced that kind of unbearable sadness, a strong, instinctive sorrow that spread from deep within.
