The Deadly Hitwoman: The Heiress's Special Abilities

Chapter 1032: Chapter 1032: Take Her Pulse

Su Yu glanced at Xia Wu, then said to Ning Shiqi, ”Take her pulse first.”

Xia Wu was somewhat puzzled. ”Clan Leader?”

Su Yu did not say much more, only signaled for Ning Shiqi to go over and take Xia Wu’s pulse.

Xia Wu’s face was full of confusion. Ning Shiqi said gently, ”Don’t worry, we mean you no harm, it’s just that... a lot has happened on Xia Gui Island recently, and we suspect someone has drugged you.”

”What?” Xia Wu’s brows knitted tightly together. Her mind was a jumble, as if something flashed by, yet as if she knew nothing at all. Just thinking like that, she started to feel a bit irritable again, with a splitting headache.

Ever since Zhu’er passed away, She had not had a single day of peace. She didn’t even know what had happened; she only felt that day after day, She drifted along in a daze like in a dream, with no time to think too much...

Many times, whenever She tried to think, Her head would hurt just like now, and then She would grow irritable and want to lose Her temper, unable to find an outlet for it, almost on the verge of collapse.

Ning Shiqi saw that Her emotions were not right, Her gaze gradually turning hazy and vacant. He first took out a silver needle and, while She was completely unguarded, stuck a needle into Her body, then pinched Her wrist and began to take Her pulse.

Outside had already been brought under control by Lianwu, and Little Black was guarding outside the residence. Xia Wu was no match for Them, so at this moment, They could easily keep the situation under control.

After being pricked by Ning Shiqi’s needle, Xia Wu’s emotions calmed a great deal. She did not resist Ning Shiqi taking Her pulse, though Her mind was still a complete mess, Her head a little dizzy, Her brows tightly furrowed.

Only after quite a while did Ning Shiqi release Xia Wu’s wrist. He then took out a few more silver needles, his eyes meeting Xia Wu’s somewhat agitated gaze. ”Look into my eyes.”

Xia Wu seemed to be bewitched by Him and met His eyes.

”Relax,” Ning Shiqi said gently.

Xia Wu was somewhat dazed, as if She struggled a little, but still did as He said. At that moment, Ning Shiqi’s silver needles swiftly pierced several acupoints on Xia Wu’s body. Xia Wu closed Her eyes, seeming to be in great pain.

After about a quarter of an hour, Xia Wu finally opened Her eyes, and by now, Her gaze had recovered more than half its clarity.

”What exactly is wrong with me?” Xia Wu’s expression still held a trace of pain, but She was at last truly awake.

It seemed that only now did She finally realize that something was wrong with Herself.

”It’s Gu poison,” Ning Shiqi replied.

Han Jing exclaimed in surprise to the side, ”Gu poison? My god!”

Ning Shiqi nodded. ”Ordinary doctors, even those highly skilled in medicine, find it very hard to detect Gu poison—especially some kinds of Gu, which leave no trace at all. Even if your behavior clearly shows something is off, no one would discover that you were poisoned or struck with some kind of Spirit Talisman. But its influence on you is always there.”

Xia Wu’s expression grew rather grave, as if She could not understand why She would have been afflicted with Gu poison.

Han Jing asked, ”Then what exactly... is Gu poison?”

Su Yu...

Ning Shiqi...

So you don’t even know what you were just ’my god’-ing about...

”Medical Poison Skill has always gone hand in hand; Gu is a type of poison, but it is also fused with witchcraft. In history, there truly was a race called the Wu Clan. Later, after these arts were lost, only the branch in Miaojiang still retained Gu poison; as for everyone else, their understanding of Gu poison became nothing more than a vague, half-baked notion.”
