The Deadly Hitwoman: The Heiress's Special Abilities

Chapter 933: Chapter 933: Using Tea Instead of Wine?

When Su Yu lifted the wine glass at that moment, She felt that she had made the right gamble.

She wasn’t oblivious to the intense gazes from the crowd; rather, she believed that a woman should be bold when necessary and should also know when to lower her pride.

With affectionate eyes and a smiling mouth, Meng Yuyou held the wine glass filled with deep emotions, watching Su Yu. As long as he drinks this glass of wine, it would mean he acknowledges Meng Yuyou as a person.

Everyone thought, since Su Yu had already lifted the wine glass, he should drink it.

It was indeed rare, after all, this was the first time Su Yu accepted a woman’s overture in public.

But just when everyone thought Su Yu would drink that wine, his hand, halfway lifted, stopped.

Everyone gazed at him with bewilderment, unsure of what he would say or do next.

Indeed, even drinking wine is not such a smooth and simple matter.

Su Yu’s wine glass was empty.

He reached for the teapot on the table, and under the watchful eyes of all, poured a cup of tea.

Everyone was puzzled; was he intending to substitute wine with tea? Even Meng Yuyou was bewildered by Su Yu’s action. The wine beside him was perfectly fine, so why pour tea?

Since the moment she met him today, she had been observing him. He wasn’t someone who couldn’t handle alcohol; just this morning, quite a few Sect Leaders came forward to toast him, and he courteously drank with them.

So why did he choose tea instead of wine when drinking with her?

Could it be he thought women shouldn’t drink alcohol? Hence, he deliberately switched to tea to prevent her from drinking too much?

Thinking that this might be possible, a slight rosy hue crept onto Meng Yuyou’s face unintentionally. Fortunately, the sun shone brightly at that time, and she stood in sunlight, making the blush not overly visible.

Yet her throat inexplicably felt a bit warm.

If this were truly his intention, it would be quite heartwarming.

Coldly watching, as Su Yu poured the tea, Han Jing sat next to Su Yu murmuring inside, why was he pouring tea? Though the two had been a couple for years and had developed a profound understanding, Han Jing still sometimes didn’t quite grasp Su Yu’s slightly eccentric ideas.

Even though she was known for her quick thinking, compared to Su Yu, she occasionally was a bit slower.

Just like now, from the moment Su Yu started pouring tea, she understood that Su Yu was surely not going to drink that wine. But what he was planning, was completely beyond her comprehension. Neither could they completely ignore the guest’s dignity nor drink the wine, even Han Jing couldn’t come up with a solution.

She blinked her eyes, then sat steadily, waiting for Su Yu’s next move.

It was just in that brief moment when Su Yu poured tea, the crowd already imagined countless possibilities.

Only Su Yu’s face remained as calm and serene as ever, with no trace of emotional fluctuation visible. Compared to the slightly peculiar excitement among the crowd at that moment, Su Yu was so composed it was as if the main character being noticed wasn’t him.

Hiding among the disciples watching the commotion, Lan Ling couldn’t resist leaning over to gossip with Xiao Xue nearby: ”Do you think your father is going to drink wine or tea? Why did he pour tea and then nothing happened?”
