The Deadly Hitwoman: The Heiress's Special Abilities

Chapter 694: Chapter 694: They Were All Wrong

Before Su Yu could speak, Han Jing continued, ”I think we were both wrong, so go back, return to the Spirit Flame Sect. You’re still Xiao Xue’s father, still the person I really like, none of this will change. The Prayer Pavilion and Spirit Flame Sect will join forces, and one day we will be strong enough to rival Xia Ji. I always believe there is no unbeatable myth in this world; we will make it to the end, no longer under threat.”

”But for now, I don’t want to be with you. If you have things to discuss, you can talk to my brother. I don’t want to keep guessing your next move.” Han Jing thought she needed a lot of courage to say these words.

But in fact, it wasn’t that hard.

She realized she was being a bit sentimental. After all the difficulties they had overcome to get to this point, all the hardships they had endured, finally meeting again, and him being well.

It truly wasn’t easy.

But precisely because of this difficulty, she couldn’t tolerate any more excuses in her heart.

If back then, when she guessed Xiao Xue was his child, instead of testing him repeatedly, she had confessed directly, if she had said all these words and expressed her dissatisfaction back then, maybe he wouldn’t have deceived her again.

Even though they loved each other so deeply, this way of loving was truly exhausting.

She wasn’t afraid of hardship, nor was she afraid of death, but she no longer wanted to be protected by him in this way.

She would grow stronger, much stronger. She would be brave and face everything she had to face.

She would still love him deeply, and in her lifetime, she wouldn’t love anyone more than this.

But not all love was meant to last a lifetime together, perhaps for her and Su Yu, this was the case.

She didn’t want the endless time ahead to be spent guessing how much he loved her.

She knew it without having to guess.

So, let it be this way.

Han Jing lowered her eyes, withdrew the finger pressed against his chest, and prepared to get out of bed and leave.

Su Yu held her arm tightly, pulled her back forcefully, flipped her over, pinned her on the bed, held her tightly, then his lips covered hers, urgent yet full of tenderness and regret.

He really wanted, so much wanted to say sorry to her.

But when she spoke those words, he realized he didn’t even have the right to apologize to her.

He had always been too self-righteous.

He’d always overlooked that she wasn’t a typical woman. She was strong, confident, and intelligent. His supposedly flawless plans couldn’t hide anything from her. When he realized she knew the truth back then, and learned that they were jointly concealing it from her, he should have known he could never lie to her again in the future.

But when things happened once more, he made the same mistake again.

He had chances to tell her the truth. Xia Ji had always been very arrogant and never thought she would fail. So, even if there were people from Lingyou Hall infiltrating the Spirit Flame Sect, with his methods, those people were nothing.

He was merely calculating step by step how best to protect them, preventing them from getting hurt, thinking about how to hide his circumstances from her so she wouldn’t worry as much and wouldn’t get swept into the vortex between him and Xia Ji.

None of them were at fault, yet it seemed they were both wrong.

She was not his caged bird, a canary, she was his wife.
