The Deadly Hitwoman: The Heiress's Special Abilities

Chapter 691: Chapter 691: Han Jing Is Angry (Part 1)

On the return journey from the Ice Lake to the outskirts of Hanwu Forest, and then from Hanwu Forest back through the Polar Ice Field to the Spirit Cultivation Realm, all the way to the Prayer Pavilion at Jingluo Lake, She never once looked at Su Yu, nor did she say a single word to him.

The entire group was shrouded in this eerie atmosphere, making the journey back rather uneasy, and even the perceptive Xiao Xue sensed that there was something seriously amiss between her parents.

They had been away for a little over a month. By the time they returned to the Prayer Pavilion, many areas needing repairs were almost finished, thanks to Qing You. The Ghost Ancestor couldn’t be bothered with these mundane matters, so he simply enlisted Qing You to do it. Naturally, Qing You wouldn’t dare to complain, bringing his little workers from the Immortal Tower with him to busily work in and out of the Prayer Pavilion daily, enduring the supervision from the Ghost Ancestor, until She and the rest returned, where he finally let out a sigh of relief.

Being under surveillance while working was really unbearable!

Originally worried about what was wrong with her parents, Xiao Xue forgot all about it upon seeing the Ghost Ancestor, immediately running over to chatter away about all the events that happened on their journey.

She instructed Mu Jin to get everyone’s rooms ready and take them for a rest, then went back by herself, as if the ever-present Su Yu wasn’t there at all.

Upon reaching the door, She stepped through the threshold and instantly turned to shut the door, locking it behind her, leaving Su Yu outside.

Although... this door certainly couldn’t keep Su Yu out, if he forcibly entered at this moment, She would most likely turn against him.

Su Yu had no choice but to patiently wait at the door.

Everyone noticed something was wrong between the two of them, but no one dared to comment.

Everyone knew She was truly angry this time.

The angrier she got, the calmer and quieter she became; those who knew her well understood this. So, everyone tactfully acted as if nothing happened. After all, they were back, the matter was resolved, and whatever was next was their own business to deal with.

She took a bath and then buried herself under the quilt to sleep.

She also knew full well that Su Yu was still standing at the door, but if he wanted to stand there, he could continue standing there.

However, she underestimated that Su Yu could also be thick-skinned at times.

This was her own room, so She let her guard down and actually fell into a deep sleep until... she felt an arm wrap around her waist.

She jolted awake and sat up quickly.

The room had already turned dark.

They had returned by dusk, having been on the move for so many days. Even if it didn’t seem much, they were all exhausted, so they retired early to rest. She didn’t want to see Su Yu, so she went to sleep. Unexpectedly, when she awoke, the night was fully upon them.

The room had a Luminous Pearl for lighting, placed on the candlestick at the side of the screen. The light was dim.

But it was still clear enough to see people by.

”Get out.”

Without needing to look, She knew who it was.

Her voice was so calm it didn’t reveal the slightest emotion, making it impossible for anyone to discern how she felt. Yet, it was exactly these words that caused a suffocating tightness in the heart when heard.

Su Yu lay there quietly, half-reclined, looking at her, remaining motionless.
