The Deadly Hitwoman: The Heiress's Special Abilities

Chapter 593: Chapter 593: I Have Legs

”Hahaha—” Han Jing finally couldn’t hold it in and burst into laughter.

How could someone be this adorable?

Lian Xichen’s face turned dark as he grabbed his belt that had fallen into the water, jumped up, and then turned around to a dark corner, stiffly tying his belt back on, but he refused to turn back again.

Han Jing waited for a while without seeing any movement from Lian Xichen, and over here, seeing that Han Jing was looking at Lian Xichen’s back, Ting Luo also lay by the pool to look, but even after a long time, he didn’t turn around.

”Sister, what’s wrong with him?” Ting Luo pointed at Lian Xichen with her slender white finger, tilting her head to ask Han Jing.

Han Jing felt a bit startled by her calling her ”Sister.” To be honest, being called sister by someone who’s actually over a thousand years old gave Han Jing a brief moment of goosebumps. However, considering Ting Luo had been asleep for a thousand years and appeared to be not very old, probably just a teenage girl back in the Merfolk Clan, calling her sister wasn’t unreasonable. Han Jing then felt perfectly justified in accepting it. Well, having an adorable little sister wouldn’t be bad either.

So, with a sisterly affection, Han Jing smiled and explained to Ting Luo, ”Big brother is a bit shy. His name is Lian Xichen, you can call him... Brother Chen.”

”Brother Chen,” Ting Luo repeated softly in her clear and sweet voice, nodding, ”I’ll remember that.”

Then she looked back at Han Jing, ”So what do I call you then, sister? And why am I here? I seem to...”

Ting Luo tilted her head, slightly furrowed her brows, and pouted, ”I seem to have left home for some reason, but I can’t remember why. Do you know why, sister?”

Looking at her clueless expression, Han Jing thought maybe it was for the best. Forgetting the sad past, she can start anew in the future.

So the considerate sister Han Jing spoke up comfortingly, ”My name is Han Jing, you can just call me sister. Since you can’t remember the past, don’t worry about it. This is the bottom of Jingluo Lake. See, we must be meant to be, the lake’s name just happens to match our names. So, you’ll live with us from now on, okay?”

Ting Luo looked at her with surprise, ”Really? I can live with you? Like... like, like you all?”

Ting Luo couldn’t quite recall what she wanted to express, but she seemed to yearn for such a life.

Han Jing nodded, ”Yes, we have many family members, and from now on, you’ll be one of our family too.”

Ting Luo murmured, ”Family... I have family again? I feel... like I’ve been away from home for a long, long time. I can hardly remember what my family looks like.”

Then she looked at Han Jing, happy and content, ”But now it’s okay, I have family again!”

Looking at the innocent and naive Ting Luo, Han Jing felt a bit like she was looking at Xiao Xue, although that little imp Xiao Xue... usually only she manages to sell others, no one ever sells her, whereas Ting Luo is genuinely innocent, making Han Jing worry that if she went out, someone might actually sell her.

She really was... suddenly felt like she was worrying too much.

Han Jing extended her hand to her, ”Come on, get up first! Do you remember how to walk?”

Ting Luo placed her hand in the palm of Han Jing’s hand, then flicked her beautiful blue fish tail, shaking her head, ”I have legs, but I don’t remember... how to walk anymore.”
