The Deadly Hitwoman: The Heiress's Special Abilities

Chapter 589: Chapter 589: Tears of the Merfolk Beneath Jingluo Lake (Part 14)

Han Jing was dumbfounded: ”How extravagant!”

At that moment, the image within the light gradually became clear.

The azure sea Han Jing had just seen appeared suddenly, along with the fairytale-like Ting Luo she had encountered in the sea. However, the scene in the image seemed to occur earlier than the dream Han Jing had seen.

Ting Luo was injured in a struggle with a sea beast and escaped to the shore, where she was saved by a passing man. The two fell in love at first sight, and after Ting Luo recovered from her injuries, she returned to the deep sea. Yet, missing the man, she often swam to the shore to wait for him. She initially thought he would not return, but soon she saw him again.

As it turned out, the man was equally obsessed with her, and they expressed their feelings to each other, agreeing to meet often.

The scene Han Jing saw was the context in which they often met.

The two grew increasingly fond of each other, but the man could not live in the undersea world where Ting Luo resided, nor could he always meet her by the sea. So he confessed his love to Ting Luo and hoped she would go with him, promising to take care of her for a lifetime. The naive Ting Luo was moved, and despite the objections and opposition from her clan, like a mermaid princess in a fairy tale, she resolutely left the sea where she lived, using her unaccustomed legs to follow him to the Spirit Cultivation Realm.

The man was a member of a prestigious family in the Spirit Cultivation Realm, and despite his family’s objections, he insisted on marrying her. Eventually, the family consented to the marriage, but on their wedding day, enemies attacked, and the man died at the hands of those adversaries, sacrificing himself for his family. The naive Ting Luo didn’t quite understand what was happening before her. She held the man’s corpse, feeling as if the sky was falling, unable to control herself.

The man’s family blamed her as a harbinger of bad luck, believing she caused their child’s death, and drove her out of the house. She personally buried her beloved and then wandered through the Spirit Cultivation Realm to find the enemies who killed him, using her powers to kill them all. Subsequently, the families of those enemies gathered people to hunt her down. Ting Luo couldn’t comprehend human hatred, realizing that even after avenging her love, she felt no joy. She was very sad, helpless, and lonely. She wanted to return to the sea, but standing by the shore, she remembered the happy days they shared. She knew she still missed him, so even if she returned to the sea, she wouldn’t be happy.

Thus, she returned to the Spirit Cultivation Realm, found a beautiful lake, and built a palace over the water like the place she dreamed of living. Faced with the empty palace and her endless longing, she couldn’t bear it anymore. Using the Secret Skill of the Merfolk Clan, she set up an array in the water, sinking the palace into the lake, weaving a dream with her tears, and then fell into an eternal slumber beneath the water.

Before she slept, she used an ancient Merfolk talisman to seal herself and made a wish that one day, if her beloved came back to kiss her awake, she would erase all memories and regain love anew.

The scene ended here, and the image within the light vanished, leaving the entire lakebed silent once again, with Ting Luo’s sleeping face still carrying hope and yearning amid the shimmering light.
