The Deadly Hitwoman: The Heiress's Special Abilities

Chapter 296: Chapter 296: It’s All a Joke

So whatever Han Jing had, she would find a way to get it. She always stood dazzlingly in front of Han Jing, pretending to be weak, making Han Jing seethe with envy, while she still appeared innocent.

She never tired of this performance; she loved seeing Han Jing’s frustration, jealousy, and envy, knowing Han Jing couldn’t really act against her.

Han Jing wasn’t good-looking, so she’d dress up beautifully and parade in front of her. Han Jing craved fatherly love, so she’d boast about how much her father adored her. Han Jing had no friends, so she often invited her girlfriends over to the mansion, making sure Han Jing knew...

Han Jing liked Su Xingyan, so she frequently appeared before Su Xingyan, trying every way to catch his attention, making him compare her to Han Jing.

She thought she could beat Han Jing in every aspect. Even with the Eldest Princess protecting Han Jing, so what? Wasn’t Han Jing still just a paper tiger, imposing in appearance but crumbling with a push, inferior and pitiful?

She hated Han Jing yet reveled in the sense of achievement gained from comparisons with her.

She thought she could always keep Han Jing underfoot, until one day, Han Jing suddenly changed.

It probably started from the day she was rescued from the river in front of the Prince Ling Mansion. She changed.

Previously, a tiny scheme could have Han Jing dancing to her tune, but from that moment, it was like she was led around by Han Jing instead. Initially, she thought Han Jing just wanted to use her to win over Su Xingyan. She mocked Han Jing in secret, thinking she ought to thank her for making it happen. But until now, she realized Han Jing barely cared about Su Xingyan at all...

She liked Su Xingyan, she could request an imperial marriage. When she didn’t like him, she could call off the engagement.

Truly willful, yet she had the means to be so...

How is the world so unjust?

As for her? She thought being near Su Xingyan would let her win him over to deal with Han Jing. What a joke. In the end, wherever she was, Han Jing could still end her with a mere gesture, and she just had to endure it all! And Su Xingyan, ha, once wishing Han Jing was dead, now stupidly in love with her, a self-made calamity!

It was only now she realized how ridiculous she’d been all along. She thought she was the esteemed daughter of Marquis Qing’an, thought her mother, though a concubine, had the support of Jingyang Marquis Mansion, thought her father genuinely cherished her. But in reality?

What Marquis Qing’an, was it not because he married the Eldest Princess that he got his title? And Jingyang Marquis Mansion dared not say a word before the Eldest Princess. Her father had indeed looked after her, but it was far from affection. She vividly remembered, many times as a child, her father didn’t even know who she was when she came to him. Including her seemingly favored mother, who rarely saw him once a month, and when he came to her room, he was often drunk, perhaps not even knowing who he was sleeping with?

She merely deluded herself into thinking she was above others, but in reality, she was nothing. Who in the entire Princess Mansion didn’t live under the Eldest Princess’s whims? The concubines and illegitimate children in the rear court, no matter how arrogant they were in the yard, who dared to truly provoke Han Jing even once?
