The Deadly Hitwoman: The Heiress's Special Abilities

Chapter 290: Chapter 290: Su Yu’s Past (Part 4)

There really is something going on here!

But no matter what, Han Jing just couldn’t remember when she had ever crossed paths with Su Yu before. Her past memories were blurry, but if she tried hard enough, she could recall some particularly important events. She could even remember a little bit about Su Xingqiao after thinking it over, but when it came to Su Yu, she truly had no impression at all.

Yet, judging from their reactions, it seemed there indeed was something.

For example, her mother. If Su Yu didn’t genuinely care about her, her mother wouldn’t have agreed to this matter. And Su Yu, if nothing special had happened between them, he, being such a cold and aloof person, wouldn’t have noticed her at all. And then there was Yun Feng, who spoke so bluntly, almost as if he was just short of telling her the reason.

Right at this point, nobody was willing to reveal the truth to her.

Han Jing felt a bit frustrated.

However, she wasn’t the type to get tangled up in things. Since it wasn’t the right time, asking would be futile anyway. As Yun Feng said, it might even cause trouble. Han Jing wasn’t afraid of trouble, but if letting things take their course could solve many troubles, then waiting a bit longer was no big deal, especially since Yun Feng had said that Su Yu would tell her eventually.

Once she figured that out, Han Jing stopped pressing the issue.

However, Yun Feng looked at Han Jing’s slightly pensive face with uncertainty, worried that she might start overthinking. He diverted her attention: ”Little Jing’er, I won’t tell you that, but I can tell you something else.”

”What is it?” Han Jing’s attention was indeed caught.

Yun Feng whispered, ”Yun Peng dislikes anyone talking about that old witch the most. I’ll tell you secretly, but you absolutely must not betray me. Do you know where that old witch is now?”

Han Jing shook her head.

Yun Feng said mysteriously, ”She married the Hall Master of Lingyou Hall, the mortal enemy of Spirit Flame Sect. The Young Master of Lingyou Hall was originally the most talented cultivator in the Spirit Cultivation Realm until Yun Peng appeared and completely overshadowed him. Since then, he’s harbored a grudge against Yun Peng. So, the feud between the two sects has only grown worse.”

When Yun Feng said this, An Chuxue and Han Jing were utterly dumbfounded. They had seen strange things, but nothing quite as bizarre as this.

They had originally thought that Xia Ji’s actions toward Su Yu were already astonishing, but to think there was something even more unbelievable—that she married his arch-enemy’s father. What kind of thought process would it take to do something like that? It was really, truly revolting...

One wonders what kind of feelings Su Yu holds toward women, after all, having such an unprecedented eccentric mother who could match no other, it’s amazing he hasn’t turned cynical or vengeful.

Yun Feng gestured with his fingers on his lips: ”You guys must keep this a secret, or I’m a dead man. That old witch’s name is forbidden by Yun Peng, no one can mention it, bringing it up is really asking for trouble.”

Su Yu can handle everything calmly, except for his deep-seated hatred for that old witch. Though Yun Feng can understand some of his resentment, he thinks what he knows may hardly scratch the surface, as he’s only heard things that many people already know. How that old witch treated Su Yu in his childhood is likely known only to Su Yu and that old witch herself. Of course, given Su Yu’s nature, he would never disclose those things to anyone.
