Entry: I Secretly Cultivate Immortality in the Martial Arts World

246: Chapter 246 This chat group... is so rubbish...Immortal Emperor Yuan Fang raised his hand and pressed down slightly, signaling Lin Yi not to be nervous.

”From the first day you transmigrated from Blue Star to this world, I have known.”

Lin Yi’s heart jolted; he opened his mouth but didn’t know what to say.

His first reaction was: I’ve been monitored.

His second reaction was: Forget it, being monitored by a big shot of this level doesn’t seem like a disgrace.

”Then... what orders does the Venerable have for coming today?” Lin Yi asked cautiously.

Immortal Emperor Yuan Fang did not answer directly, but instead asked a few questions about his recent cultivation progress and whether his official duties were going smoothly.

Lin Yi answered them one by one, his speech becoming increasingly respectful.

Immortal Emperor Yuan Fang then asked him if he was used to this world yet and if there were any difficulties.

Lin Yi spoke honestly, saying there weren’t any difficulties, just that it felt dull sometimes.

This world had no Great Ninja War, no Akatsuki Organization, and no Six Paths of Pain; all his knowledge of Naruto from his past life had no place to be used.

If it weren’t for his own System saying this was the Naruto World and that there was an Otsutsuki Kaguya, he wouldn’t believe this was the Naruto World even if he were beaten to death.

Only occasionally giving spoilers to people in the group was his greatest pleasure.

Immortal Emperor Yuan Fang nodded slightly and changed the subject: ”That chat group of yours, can you invite me to join?”

Lin Yi was stunned.

He subconsciously wanted to refuse, but the words reached his lips and were swallowed back down.

He looked at the calm and composed Venerable Datong before him, then thought of his own meager cultivation; the thought of refusal vanished instantly.

The key was that his System was currently silent, playing dead more thoroughly than anyone.

In the past, if he was about to do something dangerous, the System would at least pop up a prompt box to give a warning.

Now, it wouldn’t even let out a peep.

What did this mean?

It meant the System also felt it couldn’t afford to provoke the person in front of him and simply chose to act as if it didn’t exist.

Lin Yi took a deep breath and decisively gave in: ”Since the Venerable has ordered it, this Disciple shall naturally obey.”

”It’s just that... in the past, it was always the System that randomly invited group members. This is the first time this Disciple has actively invited someone to the chat group, so I don’t know if it will work.”

Immortal Emperor Yuan Fang said: ”No matter, just give it a try.”

Lin Yi’s consciousness sank into the chat group interface and found the invitation function.

He then sent an invitation to Immortal Emperor Yuan Fang who was standing before him.

The next moment, a chat group invitation prompt appeared before Immortal Emperor Yuan Fang’s eyes. Without much hesitation, he decisively chose to agree.

[System: Welcome new group member Venerable Datong to join the Myriad Heavens Chat Group.]

The group immediately became lively.

Immortal Emperor Yuan Fang paid no attention to these messages.

He immersed his mind and silently observed the interface of this chat group.

The group member list expanded before him, with names and avatars arranged one by one. A rough count showed no more than thirty or forty people.

He withdrew his mind and looked at Lin Yi, his tone carrying a hint of surprise: ”You’ve lived for several hundred years, and this chat group only has this many people?”

Lin Yi smiled bitterly, his face looking as if he wanted to cry but had no tears: ”Big shot, please let me explain.”

He sighed and began to pour out his grievances.

”In this chat group of mine, there used to be quite a few people.”

”At the very beginning, the group had Bu Jingyun and Nie Feng from the ’Wind and Cloud’ world, Immortal Master Changmei from ’Legend of Zu’, Li Xiaoyao from ’The Legend of Sword and Fairy’, and Old Yao from ’Legend of the Flame Emperor’... they were all from worlds that could provide Medicinal Pills or treasures for longevity.”

”Relying on giving them spoilers of their plots, I exchanged for many good things.”

Immortal Emperor Yuan Fang listened quietly.

Lin Yi continued: ”But the problem is, after these group members knew the plot, they would go to change their own fates. Some succeeded in changing it, are living well, and are still in the group today, chatting and shooting the breeze with me every day.”

”But some... failed to change it.”

”As for Bu Jingyun from the Wind and Cloud side, I gave him spoilers for the Late Stage plot. After he went back, he wanted to kill Xiong Ba in advance, but Xiong Ba was already prepared and killed him instead. Once Bu Jingyun died, his avatar in the chat group went gray, and a few days later, his name was directly removed.”

”Being removed means the person is gone.”

”Old Yao too. I told him that his Disciple Han Feng would betray him. After he went back, he turned hostile in advance, but that kid Han Feng had someone backing him. Old Yao didn’t win and suffered a Soul Flying Away and Spirit Scattering.”

Lin Yi said this with a face full of helplessness.

After listening, Immortal Emperor Yuan Fang was silent for a moment and said: ”I see in your chat group, it seems the host can summon characters from the myriad worlds to obtain abilities, Magic Treasures, and Cultivation Techniques, but summoning requires points. And the source of points is changing the fate of group members?”

Lin Yi nodded: ”Yes, that’s the mechanism.”

”Then who have you summoned so far?”

Lin Yi scratched his head: ”None. I haven’t summoned a single one.”

”I used all my points to exchange for things in the chat group System store.”

”Summoning characters is too expensive, and once summoned, they might not necessarily listen to me. If I summon a villain who ends up killing me, who could I complain to?”

Hearing this, Immortal Emperor Yuan Fang was silent for even longer. How could this chat group System be so trashy?

”With a cheat like a chat group and points to buy various things, the result is that group members can still die directly when failing to change their fate? This System of yours is a bit too unreliable,” Immortal Emperor Yuan Fang said.

Lin Yi nodded in deep agreement: ”I also think it’s quite trashy.”

Subsequently, Lin Yi mentioned a few more details about the chat group.

The System would automatically invite a new group member at certain intervals. The interval was inconsistent, ranging from a few months to a year or two. The criteria for invitation were also unclear, seemingly random.

Group members could have private chats or trade items with each other, not necessarily going through the System store.

If there was some kind of connection between the worlds the group members were in, the System would occasionally trigger linked missions.

Previously, when members from ’Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils’ and ’The Legend of the Condor Heroes’ were online at the same time, the chat group System issued a linked mission called ’Martial Forest Supreme,’ and the rewards were quite generous.

The most important function was that after accumulating a certain number of points, a portal to a group member’s world could be opened, allowing one to transmigrate there in person.

Lin Yi had saved up many points over the years but had never used them.

Hearing the last sentence, the corners of Immortal Emperor Yuan Fang’s mouth curled up slightly.

Seeing this smile, for some reason, Lin Yi felt a chill down his spine.

His heart skipped a beat as he thought to himself: This big shot isn’t planning to refine the worlds of my group members, is he?

Immortal Emperor Yuan Fang seemed to see through his thoughts and said indifferently: ”Rest assured. Most of the worlds in your chat group are beneath my notice.”

”They are just some Wuxia planes with thin Spiritual Qi and incomplete Laws; to me, they are like chicken ribs—useless but a pity to discard.”

Immortal Emperor Yuan Fang asked again about the number of transcendent worlds in this chat group.

Lin Yi told the truth, saying that most in the group were Wuxia worlds, and transcendent worlds were pitifully few.

Spider-Man, Iron Man, and Doctor Strange were all only recently invited by the System, which he guessed was related to his Breakthrough to the Qi Refining Late Stage and the System broadening the invitation range.

Immortal Emperor Yuan Fang nodded. He confirmed the mechanism of the point portal once more, and Lin Yi told him that once enough points were gathered, one could transmigrate there in person.

As for where the points came from, it was nothing more than changing the fate of group members. Giving spoilers provided a few points, while directly intervening provided more.

After listening, Immortal Emperor Yuan Fang did not intend to slowly accumulate points himself, but instead asked Lin Yi: ”Can this chat group of yours... provide a loan?”
