Entry: I Secretly Cultivate Immortality in the Martial Arts World

227: Chapter 227 Why is this land called the Demon Realm? Why is it ruled by demons? The opportunity Immortal Emperor Yuan Fang gave Chu Xiu was, to put it bluntly, to make him the public leader of the The Great Alliance.

If the The Great Alliance was to take root in the Demon Realm, it needed someone to stand at the forefront.

Immortal Emperor Yuan Fang himself was not suited for public exposure; it wasn’t fear, it was just unnecessary.

For an existence of his level, once exposed to the public eye, trouble would follow in quick succession.

The gaze of the Immortal Realm, spies, and the schemes of various factions would all find ways to close in on him.

It was better to let Chu Xiu step forward. He had been in the Demon Realm for tens of thousands of years, had a deep Foundation, knew the people, and had a good reputation, making him the perfect candidate.

As for what specifically to do, Immortal Emperor Yuan Fang also laid it out clearly.

He wasn’t asking Chu Xiu to lead people into a head-on collision with the Demon Race.

With that kind of approach, even ten more Chu Xius wouldn’t be enough to fill the gap.

Instead, they were to gradually establish strongholds in Human Race settlements across the Demon Realm, using these points to influence the surrounding areas and integrate the power of the Human Race.

Resource exchange, intelligence sharing, and mutual assistance—starting with the most basic things.

Once the Foundation was stable, they would plan for greater things.

Chu Xiu listened and remained silent for a long time.

He had fought alone in the Demon Realm for tens of thousands of years. It wasn’t that he hadn’t thought about uniting with other human Cultivators, but every attempt had fallen through for various reasons.

Either he couldn’t trust them, they couldn’t trust him, or just as things were looking up, the Demon Race would snuff them out.

Over time, he had given up on the idea, feeling that it was enough to just kill on his own—why bother with all that effort?

But now it was different.

With an existence like Immortal Emperor Yuan Fang backing him, the fire in his heart that had nearly been extinguished began to burn once more.

Chu Xiu immediately expressed his stance, willing to take on this task.

Immortal Emperor Yuan Fang nodded and said nothing more.

Regarding the subsequent matters, Chu Xiu hardly had to worry about a thing.

It wasn’t that he didn’t want to worry; it was that every time he was about to, the matter had already been settled.

He wanted to start developing from the North Region of the Demon Realm, so Immortal Emperor Yuan Fang cleared the path for him in the North Region in advance.

Those faction leaders who might have been obstacles either inexplicably changed their minds or inexplicably met with accidents.

They either died, suffered a massive drop in cultivation, or were tied down by some old grievance, leaving them unable to lift a hand against Chu Xiu.

Chu Xiu originally thought he would have to expend great effort to grease the wheels and persuade various factions, only to find that those factions seemed to have been waiting there all along.

No sooner had he arrived than people came to join him, bringing their entire families and showing full sincerity. Chu Xiu didn’t even need to say anything; those people already treated him as their backbone.

Chu Xiu was no fool; he knew who was operating behind the scenes.

But he didn’t ask questions.

Some things are enough to know; there’s no need to say them out loud.

Immortal Emperor Yuan Fang’s methods did not stop there.

The biggest problem Chu Xiu encountered while establishing strongholds in the North Region was a lack of supplies.

The North Region was poor and lacked everything, especially cultivation resources.

Without resources, one couldn’t keep Advanced Cultivators, and without Advanced Cultivators, development was out of the question.

This problem was solved on the third day of Chu Xiu’s worrying.

A batch of supplies from an unknown source quietly appeared in the warehouse of his chosen stronghold.

Medicinal Pills, Spirit Stones, Magical Artifacts, and Cultivation Technique Jade Slips—everything was provided.

When Chu Xiu took inventory of the supplies, his hands were trembling.

He knew these things were given by Immortal Emperor Yuan Fang, but he didn’t know how Immortal Emperor Yuan Fang had managed to procure so many items from who-knows-where in just three short days.

Later, he stopped thinking about it.

He wouldn’t understand even if he tried.

With resources, Chu Xiu’s influence shot up like a rocket.

More and more human Qi Refiners from the Demon Realm came to seek refuge, and more and more The Great Alliance strongholds were built.

From the initial one, to three, to five, to ten.

In less than half a year, more than half of the Human Race settlements in the North Region were brought under his command.

Of course, the process was not entirely smooth sailing.

The Demon Realm was, after all, the domain of the Demon Race. The Human Race making such a big commotion couldn’t fail to attract their attention.

Several Demon Race factions in the North Region, who originally didn’t take the Human Race seriously, heard that humans were organizing and sent people to suppress them.

The leading demon general had a high cultivation, at least at the Undergoing Tribulation Middle Stage, and he brought several hundred demon soldiers, marching over grandly.

Chu Xiu was prepared for a bloody battle at the time.

As it turned out, those demons didn’t even reach the stronghold; something happened on the way, and they all dropped dead.

After a few such incidents, the Demon Race factions in the North Region learned their lesson.

They discovered that anyone who went looking for trouble with Chu Xiu met with no good end.

As for why, no one could say for sure.

Some demons speculated Chu Xiu had a powerful expert behind him, some guessed Chu Xiu himself was hiding his strength, and others felt the feng shui of the North Region was bad and going there brought misfortune.

Regardless, the result was the same—no more demons dared to look for trouble with Chu Xiu.

Chu Xiu’s influence took root in the North Region, and it was a deep, stable root.

The situation of the Human Race in the North Region improved visibly.

Previously, the Mortals in the North Region lived like rats.

Hiding in corners, afraid to speak loudly, afraid to light fires for cooking, afraid to stay in one place for too long.

Terrified of being discovered by the Demon Race, terrified of being hunted as prey.

Children knew one truth from birth: just stay alive, and don’t think about anything else.

Now it was different.

With Chu Xiu’s faction as a support, the Human Race of the North Region could finally hold their heads high.

They could farm, Cultivate, and live in peace, no longer having to live in constant fear.

If demons attacked, there were strongholds to retreat to and brothers to provide support, instead of everyone fleeing for their lives as before.

All these changes happened so quickly.

So fast it felt like a dream.

Sometimes Chu Xiu would sit in the stronghold, watching the human Cultivators and Mortals coming and going, and he would feel a sense of unreality.

He had struggled on this land for tens of thousands of years, seen too much death and despair, and never thought that one day, the humans of the Demon Realm could live such a life.

He knew he hadn’t achieved this himself.

It was that existence standing behind the scenes who, with a single hand, had lifted the fate of the entire North Region Human Race.

Chu Xiu didn’t know why Immortal Emperor Yuan Fang was doing this, or what he stood to gain.

The only thing he was clear about was that he could never repay Venerable Datong’s kindness in this lifetime.

In the following years, the situation in the North Region was completely transformed.

Those major Demon Race factions that had occupied the North Region for years were either wiped out so cleanly that not even a speck remained,

Or they sensed something was wrong and packed up overnight to flee to the Central or East Regions to seek another way out.

In their place was a network of human influence, with strongholds spread across the North Region like a dense spiderweb, holding the entire region firmly in hand.

All these changes took only a few short years.

In the Mortal Realm, a few years might not be considered short.

But in a place like the Demon Realm, where time was often measured in centuries or millennia, a few years was but the blink of an eye.

Yet in that blink of an eye, the heavens of the North Region had undergone earth-shattering changes.

Firstly, through the means of immortal cultivation, travel and communication were convenient.

Teleportation Arrays were set up between strongholds, allowing news, personnel, and supplies to be dispatched in an instant.

Secondly, Immortal Emperor Yuan Fang was behind the scenes controlling the overall situation.

Five years after Chu Xiu established the The Great Alliance in the North Region of the Demon Realm,

The Human Race became the masters of the North Region.

This was something that had never happened since ancient times in the Demon Realm.

Since the day the Demon Realm was born, the Human Race had been synonymous with the bottom tier of this land.

Enslaved, expelled, and hunted, they lived worse than pigs or dogs.

Let alone becoming the masters of a region, even living peacefully on a small patch of land was a pipe dream.

Now, this ’since ancient times’ had been broken.

As for the outside world, Immortal Emperor Yuan Fang had long since used his means to shroud everything in the North Region tightly.

Outsiders could not perceive what was specifically happening in the North Region; they only knew that the area seemed to have undergone a great upheaval.

But the details of the upheaval, its results, and who was pulling the strings behind it were all blurred, like a mystery wrapped in a thick fog.

And the major factions in other parts of the Demon Realm were currently far too busy to care about the changes in the North Region.

The two giant palms that had appeared in the sky a few years ago, covering the heavens, remained the greatest mystery and topic of conversation in the Demon Realm.

The terrifying aura and high level of that battle were far beyond the understanding of ordinary demons.

All factions were desperately trying to find out the origins of that battle.

Who made the move, who were they fighting, what was the result, and would they continue to strike at each other in the future?

They asked around and around, but found out nothing.

The masters of those two palms were like two existences that had walked out of myths.

After striking, they vanished without a trace, leaving not a single clue.

Compared to that, what did a little upheaval in the North Region matter?

Furthermore, for most demons in the Demon Realm, what happened in the North Region actually had nothing to do with them.

Demons were bound together by race, tribe, and Bloodline. There might be some sentiment within the same race, but between different races, it didn’t matter how many died.

If you wiped out a demon tribe today, other demon tribes wouldn’t come for revenge; they might even cheer.

With one less competitor, the territory would be theirs.

That was the Demon Race.

Although many demons looked similar to humans, with noses, eyes, and the ability to speak, their actions were actually no different from beasts.

The weak were prey to the strong, full of deceit and mutual slaughter, which they never tired of.

After the situation in the North Region stabilized, Chu Xiu’s influence began to penetrate the West Region.

With the experience from the North Region, progress was even smoother this time.

Same recipe, same flavor: Immortal Emperor Yuan Fang cleared the obstacles in the back, and Chu Xiu received the results at the front.

Chu Xiu was now in high spirits.

He had suffered in the Demon Realm for tens of thousands of years and never thought he would one day lead the Human Race to stand up and be the masters.

Now with the North Region in hand and the West Region in sight, he looked a thousand years younger.

Although with his cultivation, looking a thousand years younger didn’t show much physical change, his spirit was indeed different.

On this day, Immortal Emperor Yuan Fang summoned Chu Xiu.

He stood with his hands behind his back, calmly looking at the land in the distance that was gradually gaining vitality, and said:

“Chu Xiu, what do you think of this world?”

Chu Xiu was stunned, not knowing why Immortal Emperor Yuan Fang suddenly asked this.

He thought for a moment and replied honestly, “To answer Senior, this world... used to be a purgatory for the Human Race, but now there is finally some hope.”

Immortal Emperor Yuan Fang nodded. “Mm, purgatory eventually comes to an end. This world should also have a new name.”

Chu Xiu was startled and instinctively asked, “What does Senior mean by this?”

Immortal Emperor Yuan Fang replied, “Chu Xiu, why do you think this world must be called the Demon Realm?”

Chu Xiu understood, but not completely.

He asked tentatively, “Then Senior means... to call it... the Human Realm?”

Immortal Emperor Yuan Fang smiled. “Human Realm? That’s too small a perspective.”

“Let’s call it the Xuanhuang Realm.”

Heaven and Earth are Xuan and Huang; the Universe is vast and desolate.

Xuan is the color of the sky, and Huang is the color of the earth.

Xuan and Huang are the primary colors of heaven and earth, the essence of all things.

Once this name was spoken, it carried an indescribable weight.

It was not like the gloom and violence of the Demon Realm, nor the wildness and savagery of the Monster Realm.

It was a name that stood upright and honorable between heaven and earth.

The Xuanhuang Realm.

This was the place where the Human Race should be.

This was the name this land was meant to have.

Chu Xiu stood where he was, repeating those three words in his mind. The more he said them, the more natural they felt, and the more they made sense.

Demon Realm? That was just a name the Demon Race used to glorify themselves.

Why must this land be called the Demon Realm? Why must demons be supreme?

From now on, this is the Xuanhuang Realm.

The Xuanhuang Realm of the Human Race.
