The Dark Rebirth of Pandora: Revenge of the Abyss

Chapter 310: Hidden Truths

I started torturing Beta along with Pope Lucius. It wasn’t really that difficult, Beta resisted everything. She is quite resilient and barely even screamed, let alone say anything she just stared at us with open eyes, like a challenge.

Even though her body was covered in blade wounds soaked in that poisonous potion, she really resisted everything.

Although she looked at me in a strange way, I think she recognized who I am somehow, and that’s kind of disturbing because she could ruin my disguise.

Pope Lucius even managed to convince Rosaline to join in. We spent almost an hour on this, and although painful moans and some screams from Beta occurred, she didn’t say anything.

Lucius didn’t seem surprised. I guess Beta always stays as quiet as possible, resisting everything. Her regenerative ability is also incredibly high.

”Pandora, it seems my free time is over. I have to get back to my activities. The saint can guide you through the rest of your inspection,” Lucius says, putting the torture tools on the table.

”...I understand. I wish you a good day of work. I’ll continue torturing this demon for a while and then I’ll go home. I can continue the rest of the inspection another day with your presence,” I say with a smile.

Lucius just nods with an amused smile as he leaves through the door. I’ve already confirmed that there is no form of surveillance in this place, so no one knows what’s happening here.

”It seems it’s just the two of us now, isn’t it, Rosaline?” I say with a huge smile as Rosaline shivers.

”I-I’ll wait outside,” she says, practically running out. I guess in her mind, me and more torture tools equal serious trouble.

”Tsk, cowardly bitch.” At least she left me alone. I was going to find a way to be alone with Beta for a conversation, but luckily the saint’s cowardice made the job easier.

”...Got anything to say?” I ask as Beta looks at me with a penetrating gaze, as if she’s evaluating me.

”You smell like her,” Beta says in a hoarse voice.

’I’ve been discovered by the scent again...’ Mikael also discovered that I was the Demon King because of the scent. It seems my scent betrays me blatantly.

”You know, not many of my sister’s servants are still alive,” I say, looking at Beta’s body. Most demons over 5,000 years old are already dead.

In other words, the number of my sister’s servants is relatively low these days. What’s left are the successors of those demons.

Of course, there’s also the matter of lifespan. My sister ruled for 5,000 years, and it’s been just over 5,000 years since she was sealed. The exact dates are confusing, but my older sister is already over 10,000 years old.

So only demons with a gigantic life expectancy could still be alive, considering all the time that has passed.

”So what did you do for my sister?” I ask, making sure no one is listening, while isolating the sound of the room with magic.

”Various things. I was one of her closest servants. She also liked to play with my breasts, so she kept me close when she was stressed,” Beta says with some pride.

’So my sister really liked those huge tits, I imagined it would be like that.’ No one would keep this busty woman around if there wasn’t some degree of interest in those two massive balls of flesh that are literally bigger than my head.

”And what did she do?” I’m more curious about my older sister’s hobbies. What did someone like her enjoy doing, and how did she lead her people, compared to what I do now?

”She liked to hit, squeeze, pull, and bite my breasts. She said they were good stress-relief toys.”

’They really do seem very good to squeeze.’ Honestly, I’m a little tempted to play with those jugs too.

”Are you her younger sister?” Beta asks without much certainty, since just the scent doesn’t exactly confirm the kinship I have with Azraelith. I could be, for example, a daughter of Azraelith.

”You got it right, I’m Azraelith’s younger sister. I’m in the human realm looking for information. Do you have anything useful you know about the church? I bet the Popes of this church have boasted about something,” I ask, trying to extract information from her.

”...Why should I tell you?” She speaks coldly, surprising me.

”...?”

”Don’t confuse things, current Demon King. I’m not loyal to you, I don’t owe you anything, I’m not obligated to serve you. I’m loyal only to her. It doesn’t matter if you’re her younger sister, you’re still not someone I should serve in any way.”

”You really have a sharp tongue,” I say, grinding my teeth in anger. This damned bitch is a demon and thinks she can disobey my authority?

”You’ll tell me what I want to know, even if I have to force you to do it,” I say impatiently with her. It’s an insult for a mere demon to think she doesn’t have to obey me. I am the current Demon King, all demons are just servants who have to obey me.

”...Then do it,” she says without yielding.

Authority of the Demon King - Demons only obey their King, so the only one qualified to rule them is the Demon King. The one who has this Authority can command demons.

”I order you to tell me what you know about the church now,” I use the passive of the Authority I’ve had from the beginning. I almost never used it because the demons are already loyal and always obey even without forcing them to.

”...Insolent bitch,” She bites off her own tongue, ripping it out and spitting it out, defiantly refusing to follow my orders with all her might.

’At least she is truly loyal to a single Demon King.’ This is undeniably remarkable, even if it’s irritating. Her loyalty is something praiseworthy. Many demons who served my sister simply now serve me, and if I go after them, they would obey me.

”Why are you so loyal to my sister?” I ask, curious as to why she is so absurdly loyal to someone who is no longer here.

”Because she is alive. You simply usurped her position,” she speaks honestly.

”Usurped? HAHAHAHAHA” I burst out laughing at something so ridiculous.

”My mother gave me this position. If my sister lost it, the fault is hers, not mine, you busty bitch. I didn’t steal the position, it was given to me legitimately,” I gained it fairly. Whoever lost, it’s their problem. She may be my sister, but the title is mine now.

And even when I bring her back, the title will still be mine. The only way I can lose this title is if I give it up and hand it over to one of my children in the future.

”You’re glaring at me because it’s the truth, even if you refuse to see it. Your loyalty is something beautiful, but it’s just an annoying obstacle,” She seems to know important things, and I want that information, even if I have to take it by force.

’What other abilities do I have that I can use?’ I even have others that can more easily control her body and mind, but they don’t work because they would drive her insane like the Chaotic Madness ability.

I remember the various sacred magics I learned to impress the Pope in case he questioned me about it. Maybe there’s something useful.

[Solar Crown] - Sacred magic that generates a powerful sacred barrier around the user. This barrier burns beings with a weakness to the sacred element.

[Blessing of Eternal Light] - Sacred magic that generates a 10% speed increase buff for 24 hours.

[Sanctification] - Sacred magic that removes poison, debuffs, and miasma from allies within a 100-meter radius.

[Flaming Penance] - A combination of sacred and spiritual magic. It generates green flames capable of causing pain to the soul of impure beings. It doesn’t cause damage, but generates pain based on the target’s sins and impurities.

[Celestial Apotheosis] - High-level sacred magic capable of temporarily generating a spiritual manifestation of the user’s own soul. The effects generated depend on the user’s soul.

[Dominion of Divinity] - Conjures a 200-meter field. Within this area, any magic considered impure is nullified before it can be cast. The field effect lasts 3 minutes.

[Aurora Sword] - Generates a light-based blade named Aurora. This sword has the ability to inflict wounds that reduce the regeneration of impure beings by 70%.

[Immaculate Soul] - Sacred magic that purifies the target’s body and mind from harmful effects such as mind control, brainwashing, and miasma.

[Touch of Mercy] - A combination of healing magic and sacred magic. It can regenerate even lost limbs of the target, generating a powerful healing light in the touched area.

[Dawn of the Innocent] - A combination of destruction magic, sacred magic, and dark magic that generates a powerful aura around the user. This aura affects nearby enemies with a destructive effect, heals nearby allies with the sacred element, and protects the user from a single blow of dark magic.

’Tsk, I don’t have anything too useful.’ Sacred magic isn’t very useful for forcing others to confess things. It does have some useful ones for torture, but I’ve seen that Beta is too resilient and loyal to succumb to pain.

”Okay, Beta, resist as much as you want. I have time and the Pope’s approval to keep torturing you. Sooner or later, I’ll make you tell the truth, even if I have to completely break you,” I say with a malicious smile, approaching her.

”And you know, I even have an interesting idea to test, I learned it from my maid Shogo,” It’s not really what I like, and honestly, it has no real usefulness in combat or torture.

However, it is so abnormally useful in the sexual aspect that Liona became addicted to it, and if Shogo was able to make Liona become addicted to it, I think I can make Beta addicted to it too.

”Do what you want, I won’t tell you anything. I’m loyal only to her and no one else,” Beta speaks with icy conviction.

”Of course, of course, say what you want. I’ll leave for today,” She’s surprised by this.

”...?”

”It happens that I don’t have the tools for that here,” I need to go talk to Shogo. Maybe I’ll even bring Shogo and Liona with me.

”Have a good rest, Beta, because tomorrow you’ll be screaming more than you can imagine, hahahahaha,” I leave the room, my laughter echoing through the air.

”Let’s go, Rosaline. I’ll come back tomorrow to continue the inspection and also want to torture Beta again. I want you to inform the Pope that I really want to torture that busty bitch who thinks she can stay silent,” I tell Rosaline, who sighs in relief that I’m leaving.

’Shogo and Liona are currently at Veritus’ mansion. I’ll talk to them tomorrow and bring the two of them with me.’ Shogo keeps switching between Veritus’ mansion and my castle. She tries to accompany me, but I’m constantly moving between locations, so it’s difficult for her.

I just hope this idea works to break Beta’s loyalty. After all, pleasure is more intoxicating than pain. Beta has shown herself to be resistant to pain, but how resistant is she to pleasure? We’ll see tomorrow.
