Stronger by Paying Salaries and I Have 1 Billion Employees

The next morning, Ye Qiuping slowly opened her eyes. She found herself alone in the two-meter-wide bed.

’That guy is like an old ox! No, that’s not right. As the saying goes, ”There are only exhausted oxen, never over-plowed fields,” but Chen Yansen’s stamina... it’s just not human.’

Ye Qiuping clutched the empty pillow beside her, complaining to herself.

’It was nice, but thinking about it now is a little scary.’

She grabbed her phone from the nightstand and saw it was already 8:30. She quickly picked up her clothes from the floor, threw them on, then ran into the bathroom to brush her teeth, wash her face, and take a shower. She also took care of her personal business while standing.

Once she was fully dressed, she went to Chen Yansen’s study and knocked on the door.

”Come in.”

Chen Yansen replied softly. He had been awake since three in the morning, first checking the previous day’s data, then reading over ten books and watching two movies, followed by half an hour of scrolling through Mimo Short Video.

This angered him so much that he immediately called Mao Chaorong. ”Watch the content! Content moderation in the North American Region might be lax, but we can’t let users make babies on the platform, can we?”

If word got out, people would think all software companies from Hua Country were as depraved as the Little Days next door.

Mao Chaorong took the scolding and nodded repeatedly in agreement, planning to strengthen the content review process.

”Boss, work starts at nine. You have fifteen minutes,” Ye Qiuping said, stepping forward and reminding him in a soft, gentle voice.

”The rule is work starts at nine, but I *am* the rule. Come sit here.” President Chen patted his thigh, gesturing for Master Ye to obey.

Watching Mimo Short Video for a while had warmed his heart and hardened his body.

Ye Qiuping’s greatest virtue was her obedience. Although her calves were still trembling, she dutifully followed President Chen’s command, wrapping her arms around Chen Yansen’s neck.

”There’s a bit of a smell,” Chen Yansen commented.

”A milky scent? It’s natural.” Ye Qiuping puffed out her chest and said with a grin.

”No.” Chen Yansen shook his head.

Ye Qiuping’s cheeks flushed red as she instantly understood what President Chen meant. She unconsciously wriggled her slender waist and shot him a coquettish glance.

It wasn’t until 10:30 in the morning that Chen Yansen unhurriedly arrived at the Science and Technology Park. He stepped into the elevator in Building 9 and went straight to his top-floor office.

A pot of hot tea and a fruit platter were already arranged on his desk. The money tree to the side was growing more lushly than ever.

He turned on his computer, poured a cup of tea, took a light sip, then opened a news website to browse the industry trends from the past two days.

The buzz from Orange Technology’s new product launch hadn’t faded; it still occupied the top headlines on all the major news portals.

In particular, at seven o’clock last night, CCTV had dedicated a two-minute segment to emphatically describe the strategic value of the Orange Z1 instruction set technology for Hua Country’s chip design industry, as well as the groundbreaking significance of Aurora Future OS.

”1.727 million units sold across all platforms in the first eight hours. The Qingcheng D2—the uncrowned king of thousand-yuan phones!”

”Our nation’s first smartphone equipped with a self-developed operating system sold 116,000 units yesterday!”

”Orange Technology Announces Details of App Submission Rewards and Traffic Support Plan for TOP 100 APPs.”

”Meitu XiuXiu CEO Wu Hongxin reveals plans to launch a beautification-focused smartphone in May, which will feature the Aurora OS system.”

”Head of ZTE Mobile Phone Business, He Dingyou, announces plans to use the Aurora OS system on the ZTE Geek, set for release next month.”

It wasn’t hard to see that domestic phone manufacturers had little interest in Aurora Future OS. No one wanted to gamble their product’s future; between a free system and a paid one, they would rather choose the paid Aurora OS system.

’Those sons of bitches!’

Chen Yansen could understand their position, but that didn’t stop him from cursing them.

He would have to rely on himself for the promotion and popularization of Aurora Future OS.

He had already spoken with Wang Teng about providing technical assistance to Xucheng Academy for development tools and application programming training.

Furthermore, using his titles as a director of the Huian Province Chamber of Commerce and vice president of the University City Entrepreneurship Alliance, he would expand his efforts from Luzhou as a center to the universities in a dozen or so surrounding cities.

’I’ll cultivate and build a reserve of AFOS developers starting from the university level!’

Once they reached the internship or employment stage, Senlian Capital’s controlled subsidiaries would recruit the best among them.

Some titles and positions seemed useless, but at critical junctures, they could play an unexpectedly important role.

Of course, Tang Qingshan had also helped out a lot behind the scenes.

KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK! A knock came from the door.

After hearing her boss’s reply, Chen Jie pushed the door open and came in. ”Boss, the staff from Huian TV Station are here. They’d like to do a short, exclusive interview with you. We discussed this before.”

”In the studio on the first floor?” Chen Yansen asked back.

”Yes,” Chen Jie replied with a nod.

Chen Yansen nodded slightly and got up to head out.

Back in the FoxTao platform days, Huian TV Station had brought him a good deal of traffic and exposure.

Plus, they were a local media outlet, so there was a certain rapport. Chen Yansen never turned down promotional opportunities like interviews.

He took the elevator to the first floor. Before he even reached the photography studio, he saw Ye Qiuping with seven or eight staff members from the TV station, confirming the interview questions and procedure.

Regarding any questions that were disadvantageous, invasive of his privacy, or could potentially create negative public opinion, Ye Qiuping’s stance was firm: they had to be removed.

This studio was originally used for photoshoots. Later, as interview requests for Chen Yansen, Huang Zheng, Zhou Shouzhi, and others increased, it was simply converted into a recording hall.

It was fully equipped with a lighting system, set design, and soundproofing, so it could just about meet the media’s needs for interviews.

”Sister Jing, the camera positions and lighting are all okay,” an assistant reported, leaning in close to the host.

”President Ye, are you sure there are no more issues? Then shall we proceed with this script?” Li Jing asked Ye Qiuping with a smile.

”Yes.” Ye Qiuping gave it a quick glance before agreeing.

Just as she finished speaking, she saw Chen Yansen strolling over. She immediately put on a broad smile and went to greet him. ”Boss, the TV station is ready. This is the interview script.”

Chen Yansen took it and flipped through it casually.

”Hello, Mr. Chen. I’m Li Jing, the host of *Jing’s Distance*,” Li Jing proactively introduced herself.

In the eyes of ordinary people, she was a star, a celebrity. But she knew full well that in the eyes of an internet tycoon like Chen Yansen, she was less than nothing.

The entertainment industry was just a rag doll for capital, to be squeezed and manipulated at will.

’I wouldn’t dare put on airs!’

”Let’s begin,” Chen Yansen gestured.

”Sister Jing, Mr. Chen’s facial lines need a little touch-up,” the makeup artist said in a low voice after studying Chen Yansen’s face carefully.

Li Jing hesitated, then said, ”Mr. Chen, what do you think...?”

Chen Yansen smiled, not making things difficult for them.

After getting his permission, the makeup artist finished the job in just three minutes.

Sitting under the studio lights, the details of Chen Yansen’s face softened. He lost some of his sharpness and gained a bit of affability.

”Mr. Chen, I’m delighted that you’ve accepted the invitation from *Jing’s Distance* to participate in this interview.”

”May I ask when you first came up with the idea of developing your own chips and operating system?” Li Jing began.

”Probably back when I was in high school. The phones my classmates used were either from Finland, Taiwan Island, or Huaqiang North. But no matter where they came from, they all had one thing in common: the core technology wasn’t from Hua Country.”

Chen Yansen didn’t even have to think; the lie came to him effortlessly.

’In high school, I spent most of my time being a simp, and the rest playing video games and pool. What the hell did the future of domestic phones have to do with me?’

Although it was a lie full of holes, Li Jing believed him without a doubt.

After all, if you looked at the path of Chen Yansen’s rise—first reselling MP3s, then selling campus cards, then founding a shopping guide e-commerce site, and finally selling FoxTao to enter the mobile phone industry.

The words were false, but the trajectory of his actions was real.

”Microsoft spent three years and couldn’t even get Windows Phone’s market share up to 5%. Do you think you can do it? What’s your goal?” Li Jing asked.

”I can’t answer that question for you right now. I’d like to leave that to all of Orange Technology’s users. Their support is what will create the future for Aurora Future OS.”

Chen Yansen gave a small smile and answered in a calm, measured tone.

”Is it a lack of confidence?” Li Jing pressed.

Not far away, Ye Qiuping frowned, cursed inwardly, and shot a harsh glare at Li Jing. She didn’t like people who broke the rules, nor people who made her follow them.

”Before I entered the mobile phone industry, my friends advised me that making phones was too difficult, completely different from shopping guide e-commerce. But a year later, the Orange C1 was launched, and it sold 10 million units in a year! I know it’s hard, but if you don’t even try, it will always be hard.”

Chen Yansen said, unconcerned.

”Qualcomm, MediaTek, and Mountain Star have accumulated decades of technology in the chip design field and have invested tens of billions. Facing these industry giants, how does Orange Technology plan to surpass them?”

Li Jing continued asking.

”Just because Orange Technology is a latecomer doesn’t mean our R&D capabilities are weak. The R&D team at Tiangong Technology includes engineers from Apple and Advanced Micro Devices, as well as top experts from Microsoft, Broadcom, and Texas Instruments. I don’t think we’re lacking in strength.

Qualcomm, MediaTek, and Mountain Star spending decades and tens of billions only proves they took too many detours!

It’s not about surpassing them. As long as we’re on the path of catching up, I believe every step we take is correct and valuable!

As for R&D funding, Orange Technology isn’t short on that either. I’ve already prepared to invest 20 billion a year!

If that’s not enough, we can increase it to 30 billion, or even 50 billion!”

Chen Yansen’s smile vanished, and his words were resolute and forceful.

’I’m already using cheat codes. If I still can’t beat a few chip design companies, then what’s the point of these cheats?’

Li Jing was slightly taken aback, a flicker of shock in her eyes. She hadn’t expected Chen Yansen to be so confident.

If it had been anyone else, she would have been dismissive.

But this was Chen Yansen, a twenty-one-year-old multi-billionaire who had personally founded several super-unicorn companies. His words naturally carried much more weight.

After that, the interview proceeded very smoothly. In Li Jing’s opinion, Chen Yansen was a master at creating topics and generating buzz.

Based on her experience, it wasn’t hard to predict that once this episode aired, the viewership ratings would absolutely triple or even quintuple!
