CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 92: Chapter 100: Not a Bad Mood

”I heard from Daniel Taylor that there was such a plan,” said Rock Bell with a schadenfreude smile, ”It’s an ancient mythology drama, and James Carter is really good at creating and singing ancient style songs. Daniel Taylor personally contacted James Carter’s agent but got turned down.” ”Your little fangirl dreams must be dashed,” she added gleefully.

”Ah...” Jane Sampson rubbed her face and sighed, ”Why has James Carter been so quiet for the past two years? Did he get married? Even if he got married, he could still continue creating, right? I really love his songs.”

”Didn’t Nina Rice tell you that you once dreamt of sharing the stage with James Carter?” Rock Bell mimicked Jane’s sigh, ”That dream of yours, it’s likely to remain just a dream. James Carter, he...”

The rest of Rock Bell’s words were replaced with a shake of her head. She knew a bit about why James Carter had disappeared and knew he was now international, but James Carter’s affairs were not for her, a small fry, to gossip about.

One rumor about him that circulated in the outside world was correct – behind James Carter, there was indeed a powerful family and clans.

So powerful that they could rival the Black Family of Capital Province.

Jane Sampson wasn’t the kind who couldn’t read the room. Although she was curious about the part Rock Bell omitted, she didn’t continue to press the matter.

She took out her mobile phone and logged into the game, surprised to see Peter Gingery was also online. She quit the game and sent him a WhatsAPP message letting him know she was back in Capital Province.

Peter Gingery had set special alerts for Jane Sampson, so even while playing the game, he could see the messages she sent, which he almost replied to in seconds.

First, a ”Oh.”

Then quickly followed by, ”Back so soon?”

”I headed back as soon as my business was done,” Jane replied.

After sending that message, Jane thought for a few seconds and then asked, ”How was your brother’s mood today?”

After such a long time, James Black must have realized she had used his phone, right? Why was there no reaction yet? Why hadn’t he called her, furious as she expected?

Over there, sitting on the train, Peter Gingery couldn’t help but laugh upon receiving Jane’s message.

He held his mobile phone and sneaked a glance at James Black, who was sitting next to him, resting with his eyes closed. The guy had been unusually good-tempered all half-day, unexpectedly pleasant to everyone, with a slightly higher tolerance, leaving him and his teammates feeling unexpectedly cherished.

Peter Gingery was surreptitiously pointing his phone’s camera when, just after a few seconds, the man with his eyes closed suddenly opened them, his gaze sharp as a knife landing on Peter’s face.

In a panic, Peter’s hand slipped and the video was sent.

”Brother, I was sending it to Jane,” said the cowed Peter Gingery, quickly betraying the unsuspecting Jane Sampson and handing the phone to James Black, adding, ”Jane was wondering if you were in a good mood today.”

After saying that, Peter Gingery quietly apologized to Jane in his heart.

If she doesn’t enter hell, who will? His brother can’t kill her, but he could easily cut down his younger brother without a second thought.

James Black’s gaze quickly swept over the mobile phone screen, going through the chat history between her and Peter Gingery. When he saw her asking about his mood today, James Black’s eyes subtly flickered, the corner of his mouth relaxing almost imperceptibly.

Then Peter heard James Black’s deep voice hum in response, ”Tell her, I’m not in a bad mood.”

”Not bad is not bad, what does ’not bad’ mean?” Peter murmured quietly, but he didn’t dare let James Black hear, so he cleverly sent a message back to Jane Sampson.

My brother is in a very good mood! — Little Protein Prince.

When Jane Sampson read those three words, her mind was truly baffled.

It couldn’t be that James Black had yet to check his phone and didn’t notice, could it?
