I Became a Medical Genius in the 80s

Chapter 839: Chapter 838: Inside the Belly

Everyone was greatly surprised. They could be certain that this creature was still alive when they first approached, even reacting violently when Luo Xudong fired his gun. Why did it suddenly die so inexplicably?

Thinking of this, everyone involuntarily glanced at the marks on the ground, the disappeared insects, the inexplicably dead big fish. If there’s no connection between these events, no one would believe it.

But the big fish carries no signs of injury all over its body; the poisonous viscous liquid should be secreted by itself. How did the insect die then?

Tian Zhi wanted to inspect the big fish, since it was already dead, but Wei Zhongyuan immediately stopped him, ”Don’t go over.”

Tian Zhi looked at Wei Zhongyuan in confusion.

Wei Zhongyuan squinted slightly, ”Next time, think more before acting. Those insects haven’t revealed their form yet.”

Tian Zhi was accustomed to Wei Zhongyuan’s reprimands and didn’t mind. Upon hearing his words, he realized he indeed hadn’t thought things through and lacked experience and caution.

Wei Zhongyuan said to Beisitian, ”I’ll give it a try.”

Beisitian nodded.

Wei Zhongyuan then took out the Yellow Talisman and a pen to start making a talisman. It was the same Spirit Formation Talisman, but after watching Beisitian make a talisman, it seemed rather ordinary.

Wei Zhongyuan’s character wouldn’t care about this. After making the talisman, he didn’t perform the final step naturally but instead stuck the talisman onto the big fish.

The Xuan Talisman slightly penetrated the liquid on it, showing a faint corrosive effect, and then the Xuan Talisman ignited and turned into talisman powder, scattering onto the big fish.

It was as if a chemical reaction took place, the big fish rapidly starting to dissolve, initially exposing gaps in its skin and flesh, revealing the skeleton inside, followed by a gush of stench.

Everyone stepped back a few paces, and when the entire big fish had completely dissolved, leaving only a skeleton, they saw several clusters of black things within the skeleton, which, if looked closely, were squirming minutely.

This must be the insects that Luo Yirui mentioned. Indeed, they entered the stomach of this big fish, but clearly, it wasn’t the fish that ate them; they ate the fish!

Why say they ate the fish, considering the slow dissolving process just now, everyone watched from start to end, discovering the fish’s brain was empty, and recalling previous deceased’s cases, they had their guesses.

Everyone was curious and fearful about these brain-eating insects, edging a bit closer to finally see their true form.

These insects were like centipedes that had their legs removed, only having a centipede-like body without countless legs, moved by squirming. They operated in swarms, squirming together, and the marks on the ground were traces of these insects’ squirming.

Noting the insects’ pace, it shouldn’t be quick; how did they silently enter human brains?

Soon, everyone learned the answer to this question.

After being exposed to air, the insects’ squirming frequency suddenly increased rapidly. Soon, everyone was surrounded by buzzing sounds, definitely not from the insects inside the fish but coming from all directions.

In no time, a layer of gray ’fog’ surrounded the area, and the buzzing sound grew louder.

Beisitian saw these insects and her face changed, quickly shouting, ”Everyone be careful, these insects drill into people’s ears!”

These ear-drilling insects came flying over overwhelmingly; with such a vast number, it might be not less than hundreds of millions. How can they be stopped!
