Rebirth in the 90s: Her Counterattack and Redemption

Chapter 1088: Chapter 643: Honest Man

Luo Shui snapped back to reality, with a hint of worry in her eyes: ”Yangyang... Yangyang is doing fine, but she’s gotten even thinner lately, it’s heartbreaking to see.

My parents and I keep urging her to eat more, but she’s always worried about gaining weight and not being able to lead the dance. If it goes on like this for too long, her health will deteriorate. Chairman Luo, she listens to you the most, please help persuade her.”

Ye nodded: ”Alright, I’ll talk to her. If she ruins her health for the sake of leading the dance, she’ll have nowhere to cry later.”

”How tall is your sister and what’s her weight?” Yu Xiaoting asked curiously.

”168 cm, 79 jin.”

”What?” Yu Xiaoting’s eyes almost popped out in shock. She stared at Luo Shui, asking word by word, ”Are you sure there’s nothing wrong with the scale?”

Luo Shui shook his head: ”No problem.”

Luo Ye explained helplessly: ”Sister Xiaoting, Luoyang is just that thin. She used to be over eighty jin. Every time we try to persuade her, she just acknowledges it, but in the end, sigh, she does whatever she wants.”

”Lin Shengming is a pillar of the company, so I just came along with him.” Perhaps noticing the doubt in Luo Ye’s eyes, Luo Shui explained why he had come along.

”Hello, Chairman Luo!” Lin Shengming, who had been paying attention to the conversation, quickly stood up, his face turning red, fiddling with the corner of his clothes unconsciously.

Luo Ye smiled at him: ”Mr. Lin, please sit down, feel at ease in private, and also...” She glanced at Sun Min, who seemed unenthusiastic, and instead of teasing, she offered encouragement, ”also, it’s me who should thank Mr. Lin. It’s thanks to hardworking employees like him that President Luo allows me to be so at ease.”

”Chairman Luo knows she’s at ease?” Luo Shui shook his head with a smile, ”That’s rare indeed.”

”That’s called delegating power, giving you full room to show your talents, don’t you get it?” Luo Ye rolled her eyes at him, ”I’m just being polite with you, don’t take it seriously.”

Luo Shui nodded repeatedly: ”Right, right, whatever Lady Luo says is right.”

”Uh...” This time, Luo Ye was left speechless.

Ever since the last time she went back to the village and reconciled with her parents, Luo Shui’s personality has changed quite a bit. In the past, if she said something like that, he would’ve taken it seriously and might have even argued about it, certainly not joked around like now.

Lin Shengming is an honest person, and he accidentally took their words seriously, quickly standing up: ”Chairman Luo, President Luo treats me very well, working hard for the company is what I should do.

After I touched a computer in high school, I became very interested in programming. When choosing a university, my teacher suggested I go for civil engineering, but I stuck to my plan.

Because of this, the teacher was particularly disappointed, as he knew that with my family’s financial situation and my parents’ age, continuing education after getting a bachelor’s degree was very unlikely.

He said, as a programming undergraduate, it’s very difficult to be competitive unless I pursue a master’s and doctorate. At that time, I didn’t agree, I thought if I worked hard, I would shine like gold.

However, after graduation, reality proved my teacher right. Although there is a demand for software programmers, when people heard about my academic background, they only gave me small irrelevant tasks, with very poor pay.

My father’s health was poor, and I was too embarrassed to keep accepting help from my family, so I reluctantly found a job selling computers at Information City.

If it weren’t for the chance encounter with President Luo, who gave me a platform to showcase my talents, I might still be working as a computer assembler.”

”While talented people are common, a true mentor is rare, there’s some truth in that...” Luo Ye looked at Luo Shui with a smile, ”As the general manager, you can’t just focus on the work of the employees, their personal lives are important too.”

”If I didn’t care, why would I be here with him?” Luo Shui said, glaring at Lin Shengming, nodding towards Sun Min’s direction. Caught off guard, Lin Shengming apologized to Sun Min, ”Miss Sun, I’ve never been in a relationship before and don’t know how to interact with girls, I’m sorry if I made things dull for you.”

”Ahem!” Luo Shui covered by sipping her coffee, Yu Xiaowei also looked helpless. On the way here, he reminded him again and again to be more generous and sweet-talking, but this guy just greeted Sun Min and became a taciturn gourd, no wonder Sun Min seemed so disinterested.

But if you’re really a taciturn gourd, just stay that way, but instead, when the topic turns to work, you look all interested, isn’t that just setting yourself up for misunderstanding...

Ying Nuo drooped her head, her shoulders shaking slightly... Sun Min pinched her secretly and forced a smile at Lin Shengming: ”It’s okay, I’m naturally quiet too, so I didn’t feel bored. Actually, listening to you all chat is quite nice.”
