Rebirth in the 90s: Her Counterattack and Redemption

Chapter 1058: Chapter 624: Danger Upon Danger

After Johnny left, Alice was still lying on the ground motionless. Monique walked over to her with a frown and kicked her hard: ”Get up!”

The severe pain awakened Alice quickly. She looked around at the familiar surroundings, unable to recall where exactly she was.

”Get up!” Monique kicked again.

Alice’s body shuddered. She remembered everything now... she must be in Monique’s castle. She’d been here before, no wonder it felt familiar!

Groaning, she tried to sit up but couldn’t muster any strength in her arm. She struggled to turn over on the ground and fixed her eyes on Monique, her eyes quickly filling with tears: ”Brother, it’s me, Alice, your beloved Alice... My arm... It’s dislocated...”

”Ow! Ah!...” Monique’s kick was so quick that unguarded Alice immediately curled into a shrimp-like position, moaning in pain.

”Didn’t you say you had something to tell me? Get up quickly, you should know my patience.” Monique frowned, looking annoyed.

The moaning abruptly stopped. Alice quietly moved her arm, and sure enough, it felt free to move, so she hurriedly got up, wiped away her tear stains, and smiled weakly: ”Thank you, brother.”

”Speak quickly!” Monique demanded again.

Her eyes glimpsed Luo Lian sitting with his head down nearby. Alice’s eyes flashed with hatred before looking pitifully at Monique: ”Brother should know, all along, I’ve listened to my sister in everything, and she has always treated me well.

This time the fallout with my sister is entirely because of brother.

My sister’s previous plan was to have Jack and Jenas force themselves on Amy and then cripple her hands and feet, so she wouldn’t have brother’s affection anymore.

Unexpectedly, brother’s people thwarted my sister’s plan, and she wanted to switch to another plan—allying with the Moselle Family against brother.

Knowing my sister’s intentions, I immediately opposed them. I’ll admit, I am jealous of Amy and don’t want brother to be with her.

However, if it means putting brother in danger to resolve the issue, then I rather have Amy and brother together. Because of my firm opposition, my sister was particularly angry and decisively abandoned me.

Next, once my sister and the Monique family’s members unite, they are likely to retaliate against brother, so brother should make plans early!

Monique stepped closer and pinched Alice’s chin: ”If there’s a single lie, you’ll become food for Lorin.” Lorin was the she-wolf Monique raised, extremely cruel in nature.

Alice flinched almost imperceptibly, smiling timidly: ”Brother, you should know my feelings for you.”

Monique frowned tightly; if Alice’s words were true, then it would mean Johnny’s mention of a third-party member might likely be sent by the Moselle Family... He hurriedly dialed Johnny’s phone, the ringtone repeated, but no one answered!

”Paisen!” Monique called out towards the outside, and a tall white man quickly appeared at the door, standing with hands clasped.

”You’ll be in charge here; without my orders, no one is allowed to leave!” Monique spoke as he walked outside, glancing back at Luo Lian at the door, ”Amy, don’t worry, Paisen will ensure your safety!”

Luo Lian curled her lips disdainfully; she finally realized what his love truly was—possessiveness, nothing but possessiveness. Even at this moment, he dared not allow her free movement; what does he really see her as in his heart?

No matter how sweetly spoken, he can’t deny his distrust of her.

If he truly loved her, would he limit her like this? Given the uncertain situation, she could face danger at any time; just relying on Paisen, what use is that?

After Monique’s figure disappeared, Alice took the initiative to come beside Luo Lian: ”Amy, I’m sorry.”

Luo Lian glanced at her indifferently and looked out the window.

”Amy, I really mean it...” Alice tugged at Luo Lian’s arm, ”If brother didn’t have feelings for you, Johnny might have finished me off just now.

Thinking back, I was really silly, knowing full well brother didn’t like me, yet desperately trying to catch his attention. The more I did so, the more he disliked me.

In hindsight, we are true siblings; how could we possibly be together? Even trying to become a sex slave has no chance, right?”

Seeing Luo Lian still unmoved, staring out the window, Alice continued to clean up her act: ”Amy, I understand, it’s impossible for you to believe me suddenly.
