Rebirth in the 90s: Her Counterattack and Redemption

Chapter 982: Chapter 576_2

Lin Jinguang tried hard to suppress his anger: ”I want to see your boss!”

The receptionist smiled again: ”May I ask, sir, which boss you are looking for?”

Lin Jinguang was taken aback: ”How many bosses do you have?”

”Three.”

”How come so many.” Lin Jinguang muttered, ”I’m looking for the owner of Liangyou.”

Zhu Xiaoxue stepped forward: ”Try President Qu.” She looked at Lin Jinguang, ”Liangyou belongs to the Qu Family’s Young Master, but there are several shareholders who are hidden.”

The receptionist pointed to the lounge area in the lobby: ”Please wait over there for a moment, I’ll help you inquire if President Qu is available. May I ask, which company are you from?”

Lin Jinguang responded politely: ”We’re from Old Sichuan Restaurant, thank you for your assistance.”

Zhu Xiaoxue looked at Lin Jinguang with admiration: ”Not bad, even though Mr. Lin is furious, he still remains calm; I like men like this, responsible.”

Lin Jinguang stared at her in confusion, then asked, ”Are you saying you like me?”

”Yes, what else do you think I’m doing hanging around you? Do you really think Old Sichuan Restaurant is that appealing to me?

I like you, I care about you, that’s why I don’t want Old Sichuan Restaurant’s achievements to go to waste, and that’s why I confront your sister-in-law. Understand now?”

”At that time, it was just a brief meeting, you...” Lin Jinguang looked at her uncertainly, ”Are you sure it’s love? Not... something else?”

Zhu Xiaoxue pushed back the hair on her forehead, her eyes shining as she looked at him: ”What if I told you, I liked you even before we met, would you believe it?”

”I don’t believe it.” Lin Jinguang shook his head, ”If I were that likable, I wouldn’t be 36 and still single.”

”That just shows people lack vision. I like your straightforwardness and honesty. When Xiao Yu told me about you, I liked you immediately, otherwise, why would I agree so quickly?”

”We hadn’t even met, how could... you like me?” Lin Jinguang was still struggling to understand.

”Enough, if you can’t figure it out, stop thinking about it. You’ll understand someday.” Zhu Xiaoxue chuckled, ”Since I was little, I liked soldiers and always dreamed of marrying one.

Unfortunately, none of the soldiers I met over the years moved me, but you, a soldier without the uniform, captivated me. I’m telling you, I’ve decided to stick with you this lifetime, so give me a straight answer.”

”Xiao Xue, you’re a good girl...”

Zhu Xiaoxue interrupted him: ”Stop, that’s the phrase I hate most. Are you going to say ’but we’re not suitable’ or ’it’s not the right time’, am I right?”

Lin Jinguang smiled bitterly: ”You’ve already said it. Honestly, with Old Sichuan Restaurant in such a predicament, how could I have the heart to discuss feelings?

Moreover, if Liangyou really targets Old Sichuan Restaurant to seize the market, Old Sichuan Restaurant would just be waiting to die. This is not even a contest.

If Old Sichuan Restaurant collapses, I’d really have nothing left except for my age. How can I be so selfish to be with you?”

”Old character, if you were 86 saying this, I could understand, but saying 36 is old? Go home and say this to your parents, see what they say!” Zhu Xiaoxue shot him a look, ”And where’s your soldier’s spirit? Giving up so easily isn’t the man I like!”

Seeing the receptionist approaching, Lin Jinguang quickly stood up: ”Miss, is President Qu here?”

The receptionist smiled sweetly: ”Yes, President Qu happens to be here and has some free time. His office is in room 1008, you two can go up now.”

”Thank you!” Lin Jinguang expressed his gratitude and headed towards the stairs.

”Sir, there’s an elevator.” The receptionist quickly reminded.

”No, I prefer to take the stairs. Zhu Xiaoxue, you take the elevator, we’ll meet on the 10th floor.” Lin Jinguang said, proceeding into the stairwell without looking back.

”Underestimating me!” Zhu Xiaoxue followed him in defiantly.

The receptionist’s mouth twitched slightly as she stood calmly at the entrance, thinking to herself, are these two out of their minds? The first seven floors of the Liangyou Office Building are equivalent to two floors each, the 10th floor is actually like the 17th floor, these two must have too much time on their hands!

By the eighth floor, Zhu Xiaoxue was panting like a windbag, weakly pointing at Lin Jinguang: ”Wait... wait for me, it’s so dark in here... I’m scared to be alone.”

”I told you to take the elevator...” Lin Jinguang paused, looking at her helplessly, ”I realized, you really just like to show off!”

”Just wanted to accompany you, how... how was I supposed to know the floors were so high.” Zhu Xiaoxue took out a handkerchief to wipe the sweat from her temples, ”I’ve got a flushed face now, how will I meet anyone?”
