Rebirth in the 90s: Her Counterattack and Redemption

Chapter 960: Chapter 569: Dilemma (Part 2)

So, the final result is that my classmate and friend knows certain things more clearly than my sister, who is the person dating him.”

”I don’t think so.” Mu Ni shook her head, ”I indirectly inquired about Wu Zetian’s thoughts, and I feel you are quite like the girl he has a crush on.”

Luo Ye quickly glanced at Wen Ke, and sure enough, Wen Ke’s face looked worse than before.

”Lady Mu...” Luo Ye stared at Mu Ni unhappily, ”Do you think sabotaging my relationship with my sister will help you win Wu Zetian?”

”I just spoke the truth.” Mu Ni looked at Wen Ke, ”I think you agree with what I said, as Wu Zetian’s official girlfriend, you should understand what’s in his heart. Of course, if you’re ignoring this, then I have nothing more to say.”

”I understand your goal, trying to undermine my confidence so that I’d voluntarily step aside, then you step in and gain everything, right?” Wen Ke forced a smile, ”I might as well tell you, Wu Zetian truly likes our Ye’er.”

I knew about this even before Wu Zetian and I got together, but knowing it, what can I do? I like him. So I begged Ye’er to match us, and promised Ye’er that I wouldn’t mind. I also believe that one day he will like me.

Even if he always keeps a place for Ye’er in his heart, I don’t care. In my view, it’s better for him to have Ye’er in his heart than someone else...”

Listening to Wen Ke’s explanation, which started to become incoherent, Luo Ye sighed to herself; her greatest fear had indeed come true.

Ever since she introduced Wu Zetian to Wen Ke, she worried that one day Wen Ke would mind her closeness with Wu Zetian.

Although Wen Ke had promised not to mind, that’s just how romantic feelings are; the closer you are, the more you want exclusivity. From Wen Ke’s current behavior, it’s clear that she’s struggling hard.

Or perhaps what Wen Ke truly minds isn’t Mu Ni. Her tears of grievance are not because of Mu Ni, Luo Ye sighed again, smiling bitterly; she shouldn’t have been confused by Wen Ke’s request back then.

Now, it’s impossible for her not to connect with Wu Zetian, and it’s equally impossible for Wen Ke to pretend this relationship never happened.

The dilemma is already here, and Mu Ni merely ignited the fuse early. Solving it is an issue Luo Ye will have to face sooner or later.

Luo Ye interrupted Wen Ke who was still rambling: ”Ke Ke, stop talking, let’s have a good chat tonight.”

”Ye’er, you misunderstand me, I have no dissatisfaction towards you, absolutely none. I know the most important person in Wu Zetian’s heart has always been Ye’er, maybe will be for a lifetime, but I don’t mind, I really don’t mind.”

”Sister, do you think it’s appropriate to say that?” Luo Ye sighed, looking at Hua Yuan’s eager-to-advise expression, ”I despise you!”

Hua Yuan spread her hands: ”Despise if you want, I just think you’re so bold, introducing the man who likes you to your own sister, isn’t this asking for trouble?

Not to mention whether the man has you in his heart now or not, just this alone is something your sister won’t be able to get over in her life unless she is completely carefree.”

”It’s not Ye’er’s fault, Ye’er did tell me the truth, I thought it through myself and decided to give it a try.” Wen Ke hastily explained, grabbing Luo Ye’s arm, ”Ye’er, don’t misunderstand, please don’t misunderstand.”

”Sister, don’t worry, I won’t misunderstand.” Luo Ye said, looking at Wen Nan who had voluntarily fallen silent, ”Nangua, you knew Ke Ke’s thoughts a long time ago, didn’t you?”

”Second Sister, heh heh...” Wen Nan laughed awkwardly, ”My sister just treats me like a trash can, and trash cans don’t spill out the trash, right?”

”Alright, let’s go home.” Luo Ye looked at Hua Yuan, ”You go hang out with your friends, we’re leaving.”

”Okay, I won’t insist on keeping you.” Hua Yuan waved, ”Don’t worry, later I’ll tell Grandpa that you were with me all the time.”

”Tch!” As Luo Ye stepped out, the phone rang. She answered it casually, Wen Yan’s voice came through, ”Ye’er, something big happened, Old Sir Hua is forcing Xiao Feng to marry Hua Yuan. Xiao Feng refused, and Old Sir Hua got angry, now he’s not letting Huirong marry little uncle.

Grandpa and Grandma tried reasoning with him but it didn’t work; the old man is truly uncontrollable now, it’s a stalemate. You need to find a way to convince Hua Yuan to talk to Old Sir Hua.”

”Alright, I got it.” Luo Ye hung up the phone and looked at Hua Yuan, ”Your grandpa is forcing my brother to marry you, you know that my brother has a fiancée.”
