Rebirth in the 90s: Her Counterattack and Redemption

Chapter 799: Chapter 475: Consolidating Power / Encounter_4

”You... you...” Feng Tianzhi pointed at her angrily, ”I’m almost dying of anger, yet you give me a bunch of unreasonable excuses. Haven’t you already canceled the engagement? How did you become his fiancée?”

”You found out so quickly?” Luo Ye said, patting her forehead in realization, ”Well, good news doesn’t go beyond the door, while bad news travels a thousand miles. Considering the time, you should know by now.”

”Why call this bad news? To me, it’s wonderful news.” Feng Tianzhi raised his eyebrows smugly, ”Ye Xuan must be worried sick, right?”

Luo Ye glanced askance at him, ”Boring!”

”I’m just that kind of boring person.” Feng Tianzhi said as his expression turned serious, ”Seriously, back then I was really infuriated by you. When I finished my business and was about to return to Beijing, I called your home, but they said you were there. When I tried your mobile, it was turned off. Tell me, how can you, a member of Fierce Tiger, turn off your phone?”

Luo Ye thought for a moment and said helplessly, ”You called at the right time. That day, Great Grandpa was in critical condition and my phone’s battery was dead without my noticing.”

Feng Tianzhi nodded, ”Alright, I was just unlucky.”

Luo Ye gave him a sideways glance, ”Why did you meet me today? Don’t tell me you have been following me all the way here.”

”You guessed right. I was planning to call the Ye Family directly to find you, but my Grandpa stopped me, telling me to leave some dignity for the Ye Family. So, I decided to wait and see.” Feng Tianzhi chuckled, ”Unexpectedly, I really managed to bump into you.”

Luo Ye rolled her eyes at him, ”If I hadn’t come down to buy candied hawthorn, how long would you have followed me?”

”To the hospital, and stop you once you got out of the car.” Feng Tianzhi laughed mischievously, ”Anyway, I must visit Grandpa.”

”Aunt Nie came to Beijing with you?” Luo Ye changed the topic proactively. She got into his car willingly, also wanting to know Nie Cui’s situation as soon as possible.

”No, she refused. She and Liu Zhengxing are actually married?” Feng Tianzhi shook his head, ”To be honest, their personalities are so different. Aunt Nie is a respectable good woman. Liu Xing is lucky to have such a mother.”

”Yes, Aunt Nie is a good person.” Luo Ye sighed, ”They say good people are rewarded, but why do some good people never get their reward?”

Feng Tianzhi smiled, ”This topic is something I haven’t thoroughly studied yet. When I figure it out, I’ll report back to you, how about it?”

”Captain Feng...” Luo Ye hesitated, ”What’s so great about me? Why treat me like this?”

”It’s worth it.” Feng Tianzhi looked at her seriously, ”Originally, when you were engaged, I prepared a big gift for you, but didn’t expect you to cancel it.

Honestly, I’m happy about your cancellation, but I’m struggling with what reason to use to give you that gift now. It’s a problem.”

Luo Ye shook her head, ”Don’t give me anything. I don’t want any gifts.”

”Aren’t you curious about what I’d give?”

”Not curious.”

”You, this girl, are no fun.” Feng Tianzhi shook his head and said to himself, ”Even if you’re not curious, I have to tell you. I’ve already gotten my Grandpa’s consent to give you one-third of my shares as an engagement gift, and my Grandpa agreed too.”

”Ha...” Luo Ye couldn’t help laughing and shaking her head, feeling a sour sentiment in her heart.

What Ye Xuan did moved her, and she understood, accepting it naturally.

But Feng Tianzhi’s gesture was totally unexpected.

Shares, which mean so much to a family business—everyone knows it. Grandpa agreeing means how much he indulges his grandson. And Feng Tianzhi’s willingness shows how deep his feelings are.

But this affection is originally one-sided, destined to be unrewarded...

Feng Tianzhi looked at Luo Ye discontentedly, ”What I did, is it funny?”

”No.” Luo Ye sighed and looked at him seriously, ”Not to lie, just yesterday Ye Xuan already transferred all his shares to me.

He told me, from now on, his belongs to me, including his life. Honestly, I didn’t tell him that from now on, mine also belongs to him, including my life.

Captain Feng, I have nothing to repay you, so please don’t be so kind to me. It’s giving me a lot of pressure.”

Feng Tianzhi’s eyes flickered, staring straight ahead for a long time, then he gave a bitter smile, ”I envy him, and I’m jealous, but once I decide to do something, I won’t change it.

No matter what happens in the future, I’ll follow my heart, without regrets. Little Ye’er, don’t think you can shake me off, you can’t.”

”You...” Luo Ye looked at him, sighed heavily, and closed her eyes.

At the moment she closed her eyes, Feng Tianzhi glanced at her with tears in his eyes, then quickly focused on what was ahead, motionless for a long time...

After arriving at the hospital, Feng Tianzhi did not do anything outrageous and left after ceremoniously visiting Grandpa with gifts.

After he disappeared from view, Luo Ye told Ye Xuan about everything that happened along the way.

Ye Xuan couldn’t help but smile bitterly, ”That’s his style.”

”Won’t you mind?” Luo Ye handed him a stick of candied hawthorn, ”I also feel conflicted, thinking to ignore him. Yet I’m his subordinate, it’s impossible to avoid interaction with him.

And his attitude, how to say, although a bit crazy, he knows clearly how to behave appropriately depending on the occasion, making it more difficult for me.”

Ye Xuan embraced her and printed a light kiss on her forehead, ”Ye’er just keep as usual. Being too deliberate is rather pretentious. I have confidence in myself and even more in Ye’er.”

”Hmm.” Luo Ye responded and bit into the candied hawthorn, leaned near Grandpa’s ear, biting with crunching sounds, ”Great Grandpa, this is your favorite. If you still don’t want it, we’ll eat it all...”

Just as Mr. Zhan walked in, he was bewildered, thinking if a stick of candied hawthorn could awaken Grandpa’s appetite, then what were he, Mr. Feng, and Mr. Zhong doing tirelessly all day? Might as well line up candied hawthorns around Grandpa...
