Rebirth in the 90s: Her Counterattack and Redemption

Chapter 788: Chapter 472: The Truth

In the hospital room, Luo Ye stared unblinkingly at Elder Feng as he performed acupuncture on Grandpa. Although the three old men had agreed to teach her needlework, it was obvious that, being medical authorities themselves, they wouldn’t teach her in the detailed way typical of student instruction. Instead, they would merely point out a few things and leave her to comprehend them on her own.

Feng Taixing, along with Elder Zhan and Elder Zhong, imparted their unique skills to Luo Ye, simply to give her an opportunity. Whether she could seize this opportunity depended on her subsequent performance.

If she truly impressed the elders, then in the future, as long as she was willing, not only needlework but other unique skills might also be taught to her without reservation. If she didn’t, then she wouldn’t get another chance after this.

”Elder Feng, how is it?” Ye Xuan quickly asked upon seeing Elder Feng stop.

”Come out.” Feng Taixing said as he led them out, standing still afterwards and looking at him with a serious expression, ”You must be mentally prepared. When Grandpa’s illness can be cured depends crucially on destiny.”

”Didn’t you say...” Ye Xuan suddenly became flustered.

”That was merely to get the Ye Family to return home and let everyone relax a little.” Feng Taixing sighed, ”You’re smart enough to understand, how could Veteran Zhan and Elder Zhong’s medical skills be as I criticized before?”

Ye Xuan pondered briefly and understood that at that moment, the Ye Family members were panicked. Elder Feng’s words were instantly believed by all without reflection.

Reflecting carefully, indeed, Zhong, Zhan, and Feng were originally equally renowned in medical expertise. If the illness were truly as Feng Taixing described, it would be impossible for Zhong Zhan not to diagnose it.

But...

Seeing Ye Xuan’s confusion, Elder Zhan sighed lightly, ”It’s true that there is a conflict between us three and Elder Feng, but before he came, I discussed with Elder Zhong and secretly gave him a call. What followed was actually something we had deliberated upon.

If the truth were reported, your Grandpa definitely wouldn’t go back to rest. If your Grandpa succumbs as well, who will bear the burden of the Ye Family?

Xiao Xuan, if not for the tie between the Zhan Family and Ye Family as relatives, I absolutely wouldn’t have done this. We are considered closely related, interconnected, how could I not make more preparations?”

After a long silence, Ye Xuan’s eyes became calm: ”I want to know the truth.”

Elder Zhan hesitated as he looked at him: ”The truth...”

Ye Xuan gritted his teeth: ”I can bear it—the arrival of that day... is a matter only of time. I am already mentally prepared, go ahead.”

”Tell him then.” Feng Taixing said as he moved forward, ”I’m watching over, no one will come.”

Luo Ye and Ye Xuan’s expressions immediately became solemn, why did things feel so off that Elder Feng had to stand guard...

”Relax a little.” Elder Zhong patted them both, ”In fact, this matter, the three of us knew before, it’s kind of fortuitous. Old Zhan, it’s better if you explain.”

Elder Zhan looked at Ye Xuan and Luo Ye: ”Aren’t you curious about the conflict between me, Elder Zhong, and Old Feng?”

”Yes.” Luo Ye nodded, ”I am somewhat puzzled, looking at you three, it doesn’t seem like there’s any major conflict. However, if there’s no significant conflict, then why have you not interacted for so many years?”

”This matter originates from Grandpa.” Elder Zhan sighed, ”Ye Family’s Thirty-six Forms has eight additional forms, Xiao Xuan, are you aware of this?”

”I know.” Ye Xuan nodded, ”But Grandpa said that the Ye Family Rules stipulate that those eight forms cannot be practiced until the time is right.”

Elder Zhan continued: ”The last eight forms demand very high talent; in hundreds of years of Ye Family history, only a few have mastered them. The so-called practice later, it’s documented in the martial arts manual, and I won’t elaborate.

Back then, Grandpa was eager to practice the last eight forms, which led to disordered meridians. Fortunately, before practicing, he had arranged everything, secretly summoning the three of us to Ye Family Xiang Mountain’s practice place, and made us swear not to reveal it to anyone.

We accompanied Grandpa on the mountain for six months, only then did we heal him. During this process, we three argued over the treatment plan, and ultimately, Old Feng failed to persuade me and Elder Zhong.

But the result proved that using Elder Feng’s method would have been better than ours, which is the reason he later severed ties with us.

It might not seem significant to you all, but for a medical fanatic, this is an unforgivable mistake. Because of this, Elder Zhong and I have always felt regretful—if not for us, Grandpa should have recovered even better after treatment.
