Rebirth in the 90s: Her Counterattack and Redemption

Chapter 635: Chapter 377: Yang Xinglai’s Visit (Part 3)

Yang Xing stood up, looked earnestly at Luo Ye, and said, ”First of all, I owe you an apology.” He then bowed deeply; Luo Ye watched him quietly without saying a word.

As Yang Xing raised his head and met Luo Ye’s dark eyes, he was momentarily dazed, then unnaturally coughed and said, ”Let me be straightforward; this apology is because I did something regrettable to your Luo Family. I arranged for Wang Peirong to seduce your brother Luo Feng, hoping she would marry him. It wasn’t meant to harm your brother, but rather hoping that one day, the power of the Luo and Wen Families could serve the Yang Family...”

Yang Xing paused, seeing that Luo Ye still had a calm expression on his face, he couldn’t help but wonder, ”Aren’t you... angry?”

”Angry,” Luo Ye nodded. ”It’s a despicable tactic.”

”Yes, a despicable tactic. Previously, I always thought that as a man, it was normal to use some tactics to achieve one’s goals.

But, after my mother’s incident, I suddenly realized that there are things one should and shouldn’t do. So, I came to see you.

This is now beyond my control. All I can do is tell you the truth, so your family won’t suffer the same deep pain as I did!”

Luo Ye looked at him faintly, ”My brother won’t fall for such a despicable trap. I believe in him.”

”Luo Ye...” Yang Xing hesitated, closed his eyes and took a deep breath, and when he opened his eyes again, his eyes were clear: ”Wang Peirong has drugged your brother, this is no longer something Luo Feng can control.” He then took out a small bottle: ”This is the antidote, give it to Luo Feng. One pill at a time, three times a day, and the poison in his system will be entirely cleared in a week.”

Luo Ye looked at him steadily, ”Why... would you do this?”

Yang Xing stared fixedly at the ceiling for a long while before saying, ”After my mom’s funeral, I locked myself in my room for two days and finally understood some things.

Without my mom, what’s the point of being the head of the Yang Family? Of course, I don’t want to head the Yang Family, but that doesn’t mean I plan to let go of that person; I will find my own way to slowly get my revenge, Luo Ye...” Yang Xing stood up and looked at Luo Ye firmly: ”There will be no future meetings!”

”You...” Luo Ye’s lips moved, nodding: ”There will be no future meetings!”

Yang Xing walked a few steps, then turned back and looked at her hopefully, ”Can... can I hug you?”

Luo Ye shook her head firmly: ”No!”

”I’m sorry!” Yang Xing’s eyes darkened, he forced a smile, and turned to leave.

Luo Ye sighed, sat down, and fell into deep thought. Yang Xing telling her all this was basically an explicit indication of who was responsible for Wang Liqing’s death.

And the actions he planned to take would probably hurt both parties. He was already an adult and should be responsible for his actions; with every step he took, there had to be accountability.

Thus, she would not interfere in this matter, nor could she. Otherwise, it would be an entangled mess. Call her heartless or cold-blooded, she was never the type to be swayed by a few kind words or gestures.

Whether in her past life or this life, his actions could not be forgiven by her. She sighed, not because of his downfall, which was indeed tragic, but because they had known each other once.

She has always been clear about love and hate; she would protect those who are kind to her, and remember those who wrong her. And this trait has recently caused her much turmoil.

After Qiao Xiaowan’s incident, she felt even more that not being free to act was inconvenient. The solution was simple: go to Fierce Tiger.

By agreeing to go to Fierce Tiger, except for training, classes, and organizational meetings, she could move freely at other times.

She consulted her grandpa and her parents about this, and they all agreed with her joining Fierce Tiger, especially grandpa who earnestly told her that it wasn’t about how much she could bring to the family but that he hoped she could use her talents where they mattered most. He didn’t think she was wasted in Team A, but Team A had Ye Xuan and Jiang Zheng, which inevitably limited her.

As for discussing it with Ye Xuan, she had always hesitated to speak up, always feeling that bringing it up was a kind of betrayal. But the moment Yang Xing came to tell her the truth, she felt that she really needed to make a decision now.
