Rebirth in the 90s: Her Counterattack and Redemption

Chapter 611: Chapter 367: Investigation

After Monday morning exercise, the office of Team 5.

”Why are you always staring at me?” Feeling the gaze constantly circling on himself, Feng Tianzhi lifted his head displeased: ”If you have something to say, hurry up.”

Hang Menglin sat up straight, studying him: ”I just want to know... what do you plan to do about Luo Ye’s matter?”

Feng Tianzhi glanced at her coldly: ”Do you suspect her?”

”No, no...” Hang Menglin waved her hands repeatedly: ”On the contrary, I believe that everyone can be doubted except for her. After getting along for so long, I understand her nature. She’s not that foolish.

However, now all the accusations are pointing at her. Someone is deliberately smearing her. I want to know if you have a way to clear this up.”

Feng Tianzhi looked at her surprisingly: ”Unexpectedly, I thought you would take this opportunity to kick her while she’s down.”

Hang Menglin snorted displeasedly: ”I’m just treating each trainee fairly, all along, it’s you guys who’ve been misinterpreting me.”

”Really? Dare you say that you haven’t been partial to Yu Na?” Feng Tianzhi raised an eyebrow: ”Think carefully before you answer.”

”It’s only natural to be good to her, but I haven’t given her special treatment during training. Don’t change the subject; I’m asking about Luo Ye.”

Feng Tianzhi narrowed his long eyes: ”I don’t plan to intervene. She hasn’t done anything, so what’s there to worry about? The investigators will clear her name.”

”That innocence isn’t so easy to regain.” Hang Menglin frowned: ”The current investigation can only gather evidence from several parties. What if all testimonies point toward her?”

Feng Tianzhi stared at her: ”Do you really care about her, or is it just pretense? Luo Ye has been performing so remarkably recently, I would have thought you’d be glad for her misfortune.”

”That’s a petty mind talking!” Hang Menglin looked at him coldly: ”Luo Ye is my subordinate, and I won’t let outsiders bully my people. Do you understand?”

Feng Tianzhi’s lips curled: ”You can beat the child yourself but never let someone else lay a finger on them. Indeed, Coach Hang is Coach Hang!

Don’t worry, Luo Ye can handle it herself. If we intervene, it shows we’re nervous, got it? Of course, framing her unjustly is also impossible!”

”Uncharacteristically sane for once, you’re catching me off-guard.” Hang Menglin shook her head: ”Seems the rumors of the madman aren’t completely true. I thought you’d take this chance to curry favor with the beauty.”

”Same for you, we both have deep prejudices. We need to be careful; we have to join forces for the sake of our children!”

”Who’s joining forces with you for the kids?” Hang Menglin stood up abruptly: ”Keep spouting nonsense, and I’ll sew your mouth shut!”

”You were acting normal for a while, how come you’ve reverted so quickly?” Feng Tianzhi held his forehead speechlessly: ”Coach Hang, take my advice, change your temper, or else...”

”Mind your own business!” Hang Menglin glared at him, then softened her tone: ”I’ll be going home for the district team activity next week. You follow through with it.”

”No problem.” Feng Tianzhi’s lips showed a faint smile: ”Going home for a matchmaking session?”

”You... are you asking for a beating?” Hang Menglin flared up again.

”If you don’t change that temper, matchmaking everyday will be in vain.” Feng Tianzhi raised an eyebrow: ”I’m telling you this because you behaved well today.”

Hang Menglin, without saying a word, stood up and threw a punch at Feng Tianzhi, who dodged upper body and sent her wrist back with a push: ”Why are you so savage, woman?”

”How else would you know what pain feels like?” Hang Menglin spoke, aiming another blow at Feng Tianzhi’s nose. Anger surged in his eyes as he grabbed her arm: ”Madwoman, stop it!”

”Who are you calling madwoman?” Hang Menglin struggled but couldn’t break free, her eyes however sparkled with amusement: ”Well, well, quite strong. Seems your achievements aren’t just down to luck.”

”Do you think everyone in the world is like you, getting cocky after two tricks and losing all sense of direction?”

Hang Menglin pulled hard at her wrist, ”Alright, even if you’re strong, you don’t have to keep holding onto me!”

Just then, Cui Xuetao and Qian Ying came looking, seeing the actions of the two, Cui Xuetao’s expression rapidly darkened, her gaze at Hang Menglin full of hostility.

Feng Tianzhi also saw the two and let go of Hang Menglin, speaking indifferently: ”You’ve come for Luo Ye’s matter, right?”

Qian Ying nudged Cui Xuetao and answered with a smile: ”Yes, it’s a trouble for Lieutenant Colonel Feng to notify Luo Ye and find a suitable place, we want to talk to her.”
