Rebirth in the 90s: Her Counterattack and Redemption

Chapter 1574: Chapter 917: Seeing Through

”Qiu’er, have you always been close with your cousin?” Luo Ye asked, as Jian Xingnong frowned for a while but couldn’t figure it out.

”Not really...” Xing Nong shook her head, ”She is my fourth uncle’s child. We used to just greet each other when we met during holidays.

This year, during the Spring Festival, she went with my fourth uncle and aunt to Grandpa and Grandma’s place. We talked more and found we had many similar interests, so we gradually got closer.

Last night she came to see me, asking if I wanted to go back to our hometown with her because Grandpa and Grandma had already returned early.

I asked her if she was going back on her own or if my fourth uncle and aunt were coming to pick her up. She said she was going back with friends and also mentioned their get-together the night before...”

”Wait...” Luo Ye interrupted Xing Nong, ”Since she knew long ago that we are friends, did she explain why she stayed silent at the time?

I believe she would definitely think that you would tell us about this, but she probably didn’t expect you to bring it up in front of everyone under these circumstances.”

Xing Nong thought for a moment and recalled: ”She told me that at her friend’s party, she saw Tangtang. Initially, she wanted to reveal her identity to Tangtang, but at first, she couldn’t find an opportunity. Later on, she finally got a chance to get close to Tangtang, and after she revealed her identity, Tangtang became a little closer to her.

Later, someone at the gathering spoke badly about Liangyou, and Tangtang got angry, saying that it was her sister’s store and anyone who dared to badmouth it would have to deal with her.

Then, the person who spoke badly accused Tangtang of bragging, and the argument escalated. As a result, Tangtang revealed Luoluo’s family background and dragged her in to back her up.

She told me all this, thinking I should know that Tangtang is loyal and stands up for her friends. My cousin has always lived in a small town with my fourth uncle and aunt, and being an outsider, she often gets bullied at school.

Therefore, she especially likes friends who are loyal. When she told me she envied me for having a loyal friend like Tangtang, I didn’t think much of it.

Later on, I did doubt it. Given Tangtang’s personality, she shouldn’t do something so childish, but considering her recent changes, and the fact that my cousin and she have no significant conflicts, I’m a bit skeptical.

As it happened, last night Yaoguang called Tangtang, unhappy about how we didn’t help her with Fu Mo’s situation. Tangtang also said that including Luoluo, we didn’t consider her a true friend.

In this way, I feel that maybe Tangtang harbored too much resentment and pent-up anger, which caused her to lose her nature and clash with others.

However, I think, no matter what, she should realize her mistake later on and take the initiative to explain herself to Luoluo.

Initially, I chose to play the game of passing the flower to include truth and dare, hoping to remind her that she hadn’t been completely honest with us.” At this point, Xing Nong looked apologetically at Tang Luo, ”Tangtang, I’m sorry, I didn’t think it through and wronged you.”

”That’s right, you did wrong me, but...” Tangtang paused, ”You can’t be blamed for the entire consequence. If it hadn’t been for me being trapped in my own emotions and thoughts lately, you wouldn’t have misunderstood me like this.

Maybe I really need to travel around and clear my mind, to truly move on. I believe I can do it!”

”I’m going to call Yan Jiaqin now, it’s too much, she actually dared to lie to me!” Xing Nong angrily pulled out her phone and started to dial, Lu Lu pressed on her hand, ”Hold on, think about what you want to say before you call her. If you just ask like this, will she tell you anything?”

Ying Nuo reminded her, ”Yeah, Qiu’er, think about what your cousin might be concerned about...”

”Do you guys really think I’m that dumb?” Xing Nong rolled her eyes, ”Of course I have thought about how to interrogate her before I call. Do you really think I’d be silly enough to ask her why she lied to me?

It seems you think of me and a fool at the same level, sigh, to reach this point is really too sad!”

”How much smarter do you really think you are than a fool?” Luo Lian sneered, ”With the mysterious look you had just now, I thought one of us had done something truly outrageous, hey...”

”Alright, stop blaming her, this matter is mainly my fault, I should reflect on myself.” Tang Luo said, standing up to bow slightly to everyone, ”I hope you still consider me a friend and don’t abandon me just because I strayed momentarily.”
