Rebirth in the 90s: Her Counterattack and Redemption

Chapter 1567: Chapter 913: Dining Together

Li Xiaoyan arrived at Qu Yue’s office when part of the meal had already been delivered. Qu Yue was sitting at the computer browsing the news, ”Chairman Qu...”

Qu Yue thought Li Xiaoyan was going to invite him to eat, so he got up and sat at the coffee table: ”Manager Li, I know you should be resting today. Come, let’s eat together.”

”Chairman Qu... I... my brother and sister have come. My brother is here in Sha City to participate in a math competition; we haven’t seen each other for more than half a year. He suddenly arrived, and I didn’t know about it. But, I... I want to have a meal with him...”

Qu Yue had never invited any female employee to a meal, so Li Xiaoyan felt very conflicted. However, in the end, family bonds took precedence, even though she was a bit incoherent while explaining.

Qu Yue was silent for a moment before saying, ”Add two more dishes and let them come over to eat together. After the meal, take them to New Century Square for a stroll. I’ll assign Xiao Ding to accompany you.”

Being valued so highly by the boss, naturally, Li Xiaoyan was very happy. However, her brother was easy to handle, while her sister... thinking of this, she quickly refused, ”Chairman Qu, that’s not necessary. I’ll just take them to the cafeteria for something simple...” She quickly explained, ”I will settle the bill as usual.”

”So am I such a failed boss?” Qu Yue laughed, ”But it’s indeed inconvenient for an outsider like me to be present during your sibling reunion. You should take them to a private room, and the bill will go on my account.”

”It’s not necessary, really not necessary! Chairman Qu...”

Qu Yue waved her off and interrupted: ”It’s decided. You’ve always been responsible for things here, whether during working hours or not. Now that your family is here, the company should rightfully host them.” He said while handing a slip to Li Xiaoyan, ”Just give it directly to finance.”

”Chairman Qu...” Li Xiaoyan’s hand curled back, reluctant to accept.

”Chairman Qu, hello, I’m Li Xiaoyan’s sister, Li Xiaoxian!”

”Xiao Xian!” Seeing her sister jumping in with one foot, Li Xiaoyan scolded her, her face instantly flushed red, ”Chairman Qu, my sister doesn’t know better. You...”

”Sis, Chairman Qu cannot eat so much alone. We shouldn’t waste resources...” Li Xiaoxian said while shouting outside, ”Xiao Ning, hurry and come in!”

”Big sister, I...” Li Xiaoning entered with a red face, looking awkwardly at Li Xiaoyan, ”Big sister, I... couldn’t stop Second Sister.”

”You guys...” Li Xiaoyan was almost in tears. She’s always been aware of her position and would never take advantage of Qu Yue’s kindness.

She knew clearly that Li Xiaoxian misunderstood her relationship with Qu Yue, but now was not the time to explain. So she said her goodbyes to Qu Yue while pushing Li Xiaoxian and Li Xiaoning outside.

”Sis, that’s not right. Chairman Qu sincerely invited you to a meal, and you can’t break your promise just because Xiao Ning and I are here. Also, Chairman Qu said you should bring us along to eat. Sis, don’t tell me you think Xiao Ning and I are embarrassing you?” Li Xiaoxian pressed her foot against the sofa while criticizing Li Xiaoyan.

”Xiao Xian, if you continue to act out, I won’t recognize you as my sister anymore!” Li Xiaoyan was truly angry. Her sister has always been carefree, but not to this extent. What’s gotten into her today?

Li Xiaoxian sighed lightly, her tone dropping: ”Sis, let go of me, I’ll walk myself.”

”Xiaoyan, let your brother and sister stay and eat together. I can’t eat all this alone; it’d be a waste. Of course, only if you don’t mind.” Seeing the situation become increasingly tense, Qu Yue sighed inwardly, attempting to alleviate the tension.

He was in a bad mood today and didn’t want to eat alone. The people who could share a meal with him weren’t around, so he invited the always considerate Li Xiaoyan. He never imagined the situation would unfold like this.

”Chairman Qu...”

Qu Yue waved his hand: ”It’s okay if you mind.” Having worked with Li Xiaoyan for quite some time, he understood her personality somewhat and knew his remark would convince her to stay.

”Alright, we’ll eat here.” Li Xiaoyan responded while casting a warning glare at her sister Li Xiaoxian. Li Xiaoxian returned a sweet smile and pulled Li Xiaoning to sit in a lower seat, behaving completely differently from how she did earlier.

”This is Chairman Qu, the big boss of Liangyou Group. Chairman Qu, this is my sister Li Xiaoxian, and this is my brother Li Xiaoning.” Realizing they’d caused quite a commotion without a proper introduction, Li Xiaoyan hurriedly corrected the oversight.

”Hello, Brother Qu!”

”Hello, Chairman Qu!”

Sitting correctly in the lower seats, the siblings quickly stood up to greet him. However, the siblings used entirely different forms of address for Qu Yue.
