Rebirth in the 90s: Her Counterattack and Redemption

Chapter 1571: Chapter 915: Pass the Drum and the Flower (Part 2)

”I have nothing going on, just thinking that we’ve been running Liangyou for so many years, but have we ever been as impressive as Imperial Chef?” Qu Yue said as he pointed to the dishes on the table, ”Booked a day in advance, and the dishes that arrive are just well-controlled in terms of timing, but in this aspect, Liangyou also does well, right?

So, I think we should find the reason and take Liangyou’s business to the next level. We can’t let others outdo us.”

Seeing he didn’t want to talk about it, Luo Ye didn’t press further and just went along, talking about the hotel’s business. Xing Nong, who had been keeping an eye on things, wasn’t pleased: ”I think you’re over the top; it’s supposed to be my treat to get together and chat, isn’t work something that can be talked about anytime?”

Luo Ye looked at her amusedly: ”Then what do you want us to talk about?”

”Talk about topics everyone can join in on. Tonight’s dinner is just to connect emotionally, we’ve not gathered for so long. I suggest, let’s play a truth game; ahem, make sure nobody plays mysterious, no pretending tonight!”

”This thing...” Luo Ye pondered for a moment, ”I think we’ll go to Liangyou’s KTV after dinner, alright?”

”It’s no fun always playing on our own turf. We’re already here, money’s spent, shouldn’t we fully enjoy it?” Xing Nong said, grabbing a small drum and some flowers, ”I’ll make the little slips of paper, only one with writing, and the one with writing is responsible for drumming; the flower lands in whoever’s hands when the drumbeats stop, that person loses and must truthfully answer three questions, then they can take the drummer’s position, everybody clear?”

”Why answer three questions?” Tang Luo protested.

”Because I want to know a lot,” Xing Nong smiled smugly, ”I’m the one treating today, so the rules are mine to make, no objections allowed.”

”Demon, you tricked her allowance out, she’s heartbroken, if she can’t get some of it back, she won’t be sleeping tonight.”

Yaoguang nodded: ”Lianlian, you’re right; last night she was talking about it in her sleep.”

”Could you make it sound even more vivid?” Xing Nong said as she placed the made paper balls on a plate, letting everyone choose one.

Seeing the big table of dishes still mostly untouched, Luo Ye helplessly chuckled: ”Qiu’er, you spent all this money not for nothing; let’s eat our fill first and then play, alright?”

”Eat while we play; finishing eating before playing is no fun, anyway, none of us are drinkers, playing instead of drinking.” Xing Nong insisted.

”This guy’s got a belly full of questions she wants answered tonight, so she’s racing against the clock.” Lu Lu stood up, bowing to everyone, ”I apologize in advance; given she’s spent her saved allowance, let’s play along with her.”

”Get lost!” Xing Nong kicked him angrily, ”It’s not about allowance, I just feel, there are a few billion-dollar net worth... oh no, who knows how many billionaires sitting here, and I, a poor host, bear the expense, how can I let them off?”

”Qiu’er, be a good sport, alright?”

Xing Nong rolled her eyes at Yaoguang: ”Everyone’s here, isn’t that a sign of being a good sport? What more do you want from me?

Oh, I’d like to state, each of you has twenty-two slips of paper, you can ask each person present two questions, or focus on one or several people if you prefer.

Once your slips are used up, even if you win again, you can’t ask questions, does anyone object to this rule?”

”Alright, as you say.”

”Yeah, you’re the boss today, it’s up to you.”

Xing Nong’s actions clearly showed she had an agenda, so nobody stopped her.

After everyone had picked up their slips and read them, Lu Lu turned his back, ”I’ve got the one with writing, Qiu’er, cover up your eyes now.”

Xing Nong flicked her empty little hands: ”This thing relies on good conscience, just turn your back and drum, don’t peek.” She looked at everyone, ”Everyone will have a chance, if anyone cheats and it’s their turn, they can return the favor with the same trick.

However, let me state again, everyone must answer the questions truthfully, of course, this is on goodwill, but if someone doesn’t answer truthfully and it gets exposed later, they won’t be my friend anymore!”

”Is it really that serious?” Tang Luo couldn’t help but mutter.

”If anyone doesn’t want to participate, they can leave now...” Xing Nong paused and continued, ”Of course, they won’t be my friend anymore either!”

”You’re being a bit forceful, aren’t you?” Luo Ye said with a chuckle, glancing around, wondering who upset this young lady so much to make her so unreasonable.

Lu Lu helplessly smiled at everyone and turned his back: ”Alright, I’m starting, be ready everyone, as soon as my drum sounds, the flower will be passed around.”

”Bong bong bong...”

The flower passed from Xing Nong’s hands, and Luo Ye quietly observed Xing Nong’s gaze; given her personality, she can’t keep composure, just watch her, and it’s easy to tell who she’s got in mind tonight.

When Nu’an logged in today, she was so touched by the comments, the rewards, the pink tickets... no one gave up on Nu’an, no one left her behind. Thank you, truly, Nu’an will definitely keep working hard.

All suggestions, Nu’an remembered, the state will definitely improve bit by bit.

Sigh, let me tell you today’s bad luck; this afternoon, while out doing something, ran into someone selling green olives, asked how much per pound, he said five bucks, lots of people buying, Nuannuan loves them, so I thought to get some for her. When picking, he said, whatever you pick, you buy, then at the scale, he said five bucks per ounce, not per pound, waving a knife like he’d stab if you didn’t comply, two big and brawny men appeared on the side, eyeing everyone unnervingly... in the end, most buyers were women, no one dared to argue, just had to suck it up, I was one of them, no point calling the police, they’d run before they arrived, and reporting means giving a statement, then retaliation... you know... so from now on, seeing fierce-looking men selling things, I wouldn’t dare buy anymore, scary stuff... PS: That thing sells for 9.8 per pound at the supermarket, damn scammer! (To be continued.
