Why Would an Aircraft Carrier Be Dispatched to Escort His Fishing Boat?

121: Chapter 121 Naval Mission: Scouting the Enemy SituationInside Jiang Chen’s cockpit, there was a way to contact the Naval Department Base.

Not only could the Naval Department Base see his global location, but he could also contact the Naval Department Base if he had an emergency.

It was just that Jiang Chen usually didn’t need to ask the Naval Department Base for help.

However, following Commander Tang Ze’s call, Jiang Chen received a communication request from the Naval Department Base’s General Command Headquarters.

At this moment, Jiang Chen was leisurely sailing his small fishing boat on the vast ocean.

This location was approximately at 60 degrees south latitude.

Although it was August and the Northern Hemisphere was in summer, the Southern Hemisphere was in winter. Coupled with the fact that this location was very close to the Antarctic continent, the temperature had dropped to single digits, even out on the ocean.

Jiang Chen was wearing thin clothes, hiding in the cockpit playing Honor of Kings, while letting Murong Aotian take charge of fishing at the stern.

He was just quietly waiting for a system call.

”Damn, the high-ground defense is useless. I wiped out three and left one heavily damaged, yet we still can’t defend the high ground.”

Jiang Chen shook his head. He wouldn’t play General Li Xin again even if it killed him. General Meng Tian was much fiercer.

[Beep, beep, beep!] [pearl river 888, please pay attention, the Naval Department Base General Command Room is calling you!] [Please respond upon receipt!]

Jiang Chen did a kip-up and sat up immediately. General Command Room? Jiang Chen was a bit puzzled.

Generally speaking, Commander Tang Ze wouldn’t disturb him without a reason. After all, his authority spanned across the Longke Academy and the Naval Department Base, and he also had connections with the Dragon Group and the Dragon Palace. Under normal circumstances, he wouldn’t make him carry out missions for no reason.

[pearl river 888 received. This is Jiang Chen. Commander Tang, is there something you need?] Jiang Chen responded.

[This is Commander Tang Ze. According to the base’s intelligence channels, there are two aircraft carriers 300 nautical miles ahead of your current heading: one is the USS Lincoln, and the other is the USS Constellation. Their decks each have 100 F35s and F22s, and they are currently surrounding the Dragon God... You know what I mean, right?]

Hearing Commander Tang Ze’s words, Jiang Chen immediately understood. He replied right away: [Don’t worry, Commander Tang, I understand! I guarantee I will complete the mission!]

With that, he hung up the radio.

Aircraft carriers 300 nautical miles away, and two of them? Jiang Chen rubbed his hands together. Commander Tang Ze reaching out from thousands of miles away to provide him with information meant it was time for a big fight.

After hanging up the radio, Commander Tang Ze just let out a sigh of relief when he suddenly realized something was wrong. He turned his head and asked the staff officer beside him: ”Wait, what did he just reply to me?”

”He said he guarantees he will complete the mission!” the staff officer replied.

Commander Tang Ze’s expression froze: ”What mission did I say?”

”You didn’t. However, a normal person knowing there are aircraft carriers ahead, along with 200 fighter jets, would probably, potentially, maybe know to... avoid them,” the staff officer said hesitantly.

Damn! Commander Tang Ze suddenly slapped himself. This kid doesn’t think I told him to charge in, does he?

The staff officer scratched his head: ”Judging by his tone, it seems so.”

”Is this kid stupid? I meant for him to run away quickly.” ”Why does he look like he’s about to charge in!” Commander Tang Ze broke out in a cold sweat.

He hurriedly tried to contact Jiang Chen again, only to find that the pearl river 888 had already entered radio silence. Clearly, Jiang Chen had entered combat readiness mode.

”F*ck, f*ck, this kid is crazy, he must be crazy! I told him to leave quickly!” Commander Tang Ze paced back and forth in anxiety. It’s over, it’s over! Those are two major aircraft carrier strike groups with two hundred fighter jets parked there.

”This kid isn’t going to get himself killed, is he!” The more Commander Tang Ze thought about it, the more terrified he became. As the person in charge of the Heavenly Soldiers and Generals, and a heavyweight candidate for academician, if Jiang Chen were to actually sacrifice himself... the Longke Academy would probably break ties with his Naval Department Base!

... After receiving the news, Jiang Chen looked at the radar and telescope for a while. Unfortunately, the distance was too great. He couldn’t see anything. All that met his eyes was the vast, endless ocean.

”Birds, come here!” Jiang Chen shouted. The Jindai Bird mother and daughter flew down reluctantly. The Jindai Bird glanced at Jiang Chen. On this voyage, Jiang Chen hadn’t ridden her to beat up pirates, which had made her breathe a sigh of relief. Unexpectedly, there was something for her to do again now.

”There are aircraft carriers 300 nautical miles ahead. Help me take a look,” Jiang Chen said. Seeing that the Jindai Bird wasn’t very willing, he said to the young Silver Jindai Bird: ”Hurry up and persuade your mother.” ”Mom, you don’t want me to be unemployed as soon as I become an adult, do you?” ”It’s very hard to find a job with a stable position nowadays.” ”Mom!” the Silver Jindai Bird pleaded bitterly with her mother.

The Jindai Bird was speechless: ”Alright! I’ll go, okay?” Just as she was about to fly off to scout the path, Jiang Chen added: ”Take these two mechas with you. They have cameras on them; otherwise, I won’t be able to see the situation on the scene.”

As his voice fell, Murong Aotian rose from the ground and lay on the Jindai Bird’s back. Yunhai Marie also leapt up and lay on the young Silver Jindai Bird’s back. ”Go quickly and find the aircraft carriers!” Jiang Chen issued the order.

Although Commander Tang Ze said there were aircraft carriers 300 nautical miles ahead, an aircraft carrier on the vast ocean was like an ant on a beach. Across a distance of hundreds of nautical miles, as long as they moved slightly, they would be very hard to find.

Whoosh! The two birds, carrying the two mechas, flew off to search for the aircraft carriers. In less than half an hour, the Jindai Bird discovered the USS Lincoln sailing below near 70 degrees east longitude. As for the USS Constellation, it hadn’t been found yet. However, judging from the information provided by Commander Tang Ze, the USS Constellation was likely also nearby, within a few dozen nautical miles.

Through the cameras of Murong Aotian and Marie, Jiang Chen clearly saw the organization of the aircraft carrier below, the number of fighter jets, and so on. Jiang Chen organized it slightly and then shared this information with the Dragon God.

At this moment, in the command room of the Dragon God, Commander Li Jing was continuously dispatching early warning aircraft and destroyers to patrol the surroundings. He knew he was surrounded, but he was still continuously scouting. If the enemy dared to launch an attack, even if it was one against three, he would pry their teeth out.

Just at this moment, he suddenly received a shared message. [pearl river 888 of the Dragon Cry aircraft carrier strike group is transmitting combat information to you.]

Seeing ”Dragon Cry,” Commander Li Jing was delighted, thinking the Dragon Cry aircraft carrier had rushed over. However, upon closer inspection, he discovered it was just one of the ships in the carrier strike group. And it was... a fishing boat?! Commander Li Jing was stunned. What kind of situation was this? How could they send a fishing boat to contact him?

Just then, the other party sent another message: [Mr. Aircraft Carrier, please do not be afraid; I was specifically sent by Commander Tang to rescue you.]

”...” Damn! What was Commander Tang thinking! Did he really send a fishing boat to rescue an aircraft carrier? Commander Li Jing felt a bit dizzy. But after he opened the information, he suddenly wasn’t dizzy anymore. It was actually photos, geographic coordinates, and combat organization of the USS Lincoln!

”This footage, this angle, this clarity... How did he get this with a fishing boat?” Commander Li Jing was full of confusion. The United States aircraft carriers were sailing in total radio silence, and even though he had dispatched so many early warning aircraft, he could only roughly determine which sea area they were in. How could a fishing boat find them on this vast ocean? Let alone hover above them without being shot down?

[Thanks to the friendly forces for the combat intelligence!] Commander Li Jing didn’t have time to think too much. With this detailed information, he decided to first execute a ”luring the tiger away from the mountain” strategy, and then launch a counterattack.

... When Jiang Chen and the Dragon God were working together from the inside and outside, preparing to launch a pincer attack on the USS Lincoln and the USS Constellation, the Ganjing Aircraft Carrier and the Weisheng Aircraft Carrier finally finished repairing their GPS receivers.

”So it was the receiver that had a problem, causing us to go off course.” Commander Amir and Commander Salman both breathed a sigh of relief. Then, they turned around and sped toward the designated sea area again.
