Supreme Sword God

Chapter 125: Chapter 124: Sudden Upheaval, Proud Young Lady

Receiving the mission assigned by the Martial Arts Academy, Ye Chen descended the mountain alone early the next morning.

The mission has a seven-day time limit, starting from today. Although the time is relatively sufficient, the area where the Black Wind Mountain Bandits are active is a certain distance from the Cangxing Martial Arts Academy, and the round trip will also take time, so it needs to be hurried.

After Ye Chen descended the mountain.

Star Spirit System.

A teacher sneakily entered a secret chamber.

In the secret chamber, Vice Dean Meng Changtian, who was in charge of the Star Spirit System, was meditating with his eyes closed.

During this period, he used the excuse of grieving over the loss of his beloved son to ignore everything, staying in the secret chamber.

”Vice Dean Meng, Ye Chen has gone to carry out the mission.”

The Star Spirit System teacher said in a low voice.

Meng Changtian slowly opened his eyes, revealing a look of fierce and ruthless determination, and said, ”Did you find out what his mission is?”

”It’s hard to intervene in the mission hall, after all, it’s supervised personally by the Dean. Why don’t I arrange for someone to secretly monitor Ye Chen now?”

Meng Changtian thought for a moment, shook his head, and said, ”Last time, when Zitao had an incident, although I quickly covered it up, the Dean still sensed something. Therefore, I’ve been using the excuse of mourning to seclude myself, trying to dissolve the Dean’s suspicions.

Now, if we directly send someone to follow Ye Chen, the Dean might take immediate action, so we shouldn’t take risks!

Killing Ye Chen is indeed very important.

But we must also wait for the right time, and cannot act rashly.

Having failed once, there must not be any unexpected events when we act again.

Do this, go to the County City, and see if there are any trustworthy people in the Defense Army who haven’t gone to Demon Suppression Valley. If so, have them secretly investigate Ye Chen’s whereabouts, and only after discovery, make further plans.”

”Yes, Vice Dean Meng, I will handle it immediately.”

”Wait.” Meng Changtian called him back, saying, ”Has there been any news from the Spirit Ruins Sect regarding Qinglan?”

”A few days ago, there was news that Qinglan has already become a Tier Three Spirit Master and has now entered the Spirit Ruins Sect’s Spirit Gathering Secret Realm. Within a month, she has the hope to become a Tier Four Spirit Master.”

Meng Changtian nodded and said, ”Qinglan has condensed the Earth Spirit Seal with the characteristics of five types of spirit patterns. Once she becomes a Tier Four Spirit Master, even though I am a Tier Five Spirit Master, I may not be stronger than her.

Soon, it will be the Wind and Cloud Competition. If Qinglan can win first place in the Cangxing Martial Arts Academy’s Wind and Cloud Competition, my position as Vice Dean will be secured!

If Qinglan can represent the Cangxing Martial Arts Academy to participate in the Wind and Cloud Competition in Kyoto Jiulong City and perform outstandingly, my status at the Cangxing Martial Arts Academy can be further elevated.

You should contact the people of the Spirit Ruins Sect again, agree to all their conditions, no matter what they are!”

”Vice Dean Meng, Qinglan’s potential is indeed great, but sacrificing so much for her... is it really worth it?”

Meng Changtian sighed and said, ”I was wounded in essence by Hua Qianxue, and I will have no hope of breakthrough to Tier Six Spirit Master in this life. Recently, Dean Ouyang’s attitude has been unfathomable, making it difficult for me to maintain my position at the Cangxing Martial Arts Academy.

Only by nurturing a top-notch prodigy can I guarantee everything I currently have by borrowing the shine of this prodigy, and Qinglan is undoubtedly the best candidate.”

”Understood, I’ll go to the County City tomorrow and handle these two matters together.”

”Hmm, you may leave now.”

......

Hui Feng City, one of the eighteen cities within Unrivaled County, is about the same size as Qingyun City.

This is the location where the Black Wind Village Mountain Bandits have frequently appeared recently.

After entering Hui Feng City, Ye Chen did not head directly to contact the City Lord’s Mansion.

Firstly, he didn’t want to reveal his whereabouts.

Secondly, according to some hints on the task scroll, Ye Chen learned that the City Lord’s Mansion also lacks understanding of the specifics of the Black Wind Village Mountain Bandits.

Where exactly the Black Wind Village is, remains a mystery!

He randomly found an inn to stay in.

Ye Chen called for the waiter and casually asked a few questions about the Black Wind Village Mountain Bandits.

The waiter poured tea for Ye Chen, then said, ”Those Black Wind Village Mountain Bandits, they burn, kill and pillage, committing all sorts of evil deeds, they all deserve to go down to the Eighteenth Floor of Hell after death!

They have brazenly invaded our Hui Feng City twice, each time killing many people, robbing banks, looting granaries, and taking women!

Besides this, within the jurisdiction of Hui Feng City, there are five small villages that have all been massacred by this group of vile bastards!

No matter men, women, young or old, none are left alive!

Young master, are you here in Hui Feng City to kill the Black Wind Village Mountain Bandits? Lately, I’ve seen several groups of people from outside who all want to kill the Black Wind Village Mountain Bandits.

If you truly intend to deal with the Black Wind Village Mountain Bandits, I suggest you go to the City Lord’s Mansion first; those people are all gathered there, discussing with the City Lord’s Mansion on how to find the main camp of the Black Wind Village Mountain Bandits for a complete eradication!”

Ye Chen shook his head and said, ”It’s nothing, I was just asking.”

The waiter showed a disappointed expression and then said, ”If the young master needs anything else, feel free to call me, I’ll be busy with other things for now.”

After the waiter left, Ye Chen ate while considering his next steps.

The local forces in Hui Feng City are unable to deal with the Black Wind Village Mountain Bandits.

Now, there are quite a few outsiders whose goals align with his, wanting to eradicate the Black Wind Village.

However, Ye Chen did not intend to team up with them.

They are unfamiliar.

Who knows what their true purposes are?

Perhaps some are purely out of seeing injustice, some are to establish connections with the government, and some may even have malicious intentions!

While Ye Chen was contemplating,

suddenly, chaotic shouts of panic sounded from the street outside.

”The Black Wind Village Mountain Bandits are here!”

”Hurry up and hide!”

”Those damned bastards will face retribution sooner or later!”

Ye Chen stood up, walked to the inn’s entrance, and saw the entire street in chaos, as everyone fled quickly.

At the end of the street, two people wearing black cloaks, each wielding a large knife, laughed wildly as they killed, storming into the shops on both sides of the street to steal valuables!

Ye Chen’s eyebrows furrowed slightly, his figure flashed, and he rushed over.

Just in time, these two Black Wind Village Mountain Bandits had just burst out of a fabric shop, preparing to rush to another shop across the street to loot, when they found someone blocking their way. One of the bandits shouted viciously, ”Where did this punk come from, get lost, or you’ll die!”

As he spoke.

The other Black Wind Village bandit had already circled to Ye Chen’s other side, suddenly shouting violently, and slashed at Ye Chen.

The previous conversation was just a distraction to divert Ye Chen’s attention.

For these bandits, anyone who tries to thwart them must die!

Facing the large blade slashing from the side, Ye Chen’s eyes flashed with a cold glint, and a chilling intent to kill erupted instantly.

”Swish!”

The Celestial Mark Sword was unsheathed.

The bandit who was chopping at Ye Chen suddenly froze, the large blade he was raising fell to the ground with a clang, and then his hand clutched his throat.

Scalding blood sprayed out from between his fingers.

”Bang!”

The corpse fell to the ground!

The bandit who had been shouting earlier now mimicked an attacking stance with his knife at Ye Chen, but seeing his companion instantly killed, he was frightened, his limbs trembling, and the knife in his hand shook.

”You... I advise you not to meddle, or else the three chiefs will shred you to pieces, skin you, and pull your tendons!”

Ye Chen snorted coldly and attacked again. The side of the Celestial Mark Sword struck this person’s head fiercely, knocking him unconscious!

After that.

Ye Chen took a Black Wind Token from the dead body on the ground, grabbed the unconscious bandit, used the Heaven-Ascending Step, and left the street.

A moment later, Ye Chen, carrying the bandit, appeared in a dense forest outside Hui Feng City, threw the person to the ground, raised his hand, and sent out a Sword Qi to pierce the person’s abdomen.

The intense pain brought the bandit to consciousness, letting out a scream like a pig being slaughtered.

Ye Chen’s killing sword aura erupted, enveloping this person.

”Speak, where exactly is Black Wind Village?!”

With this sentence, Ye Chen even used Spiritual Power, combined with the killing sword aura, to exert tremendous pressure on the bandit.

The bandit was already scared out of his wits.

”We... our Black Wind Village has never had a fixed location...”

Ye Chen frowned, shouted coldly, ”What’s Black Wind Village’s next move?”

”The Second Chief said to slaughter the village...”

”Which village?”

”Zhang Family Village, because someone from Zhang Family Village is a Defense Army officer from Hui Feng City, that person has already killed many of our brothers, and the Second Chief wants revenge...”

”Where is Zhang Family Village located? When will you act?” Ye Chen continued to ask harshly.

Since Black Wind Village has no fixed location, wherever they act, he will intercept them!

”Just over eighty miles southwest of Hui Feng City... The action is supposed to be tonight, our attack on Hui Feng City was to distract the City Lord’s Mansion...”

Having obtained the information he wanted.

Ye Chen certainly wouldn’t leave this bandit alive.

With his right hand’s middle and index fingers together, he sent out a Sword Qi to pierce the person’s forehead, then took the Black Wind Token from him.

This mission, killing the three leaders of Black Wind Village, offers the most points.

Killing other members of Black Wind Village earns ten points each.

Only by accumulating five hundred points is the mission considered complete.

Actually, this mission seems dangerous, but there’s a lot of room to maneuver, as long as you avoid the three strongest leaders of Black Wind Village, take some time to specialize in ambushing these ordinary bandits, kill fifty, and the task is done.

This was also what Senior Sister Liu Meng’er instructed when Ye Chen went down the mountain for the mission.

However, Ye Chen didn’t plan to do so.

Since he’s here.

He must kill thoroughly!

Once, he often fantasized about adventuring the world, upholding justice.

But reality dealt Ye Chen a tremendous blow.

Now, Ye Chen’s mindset had undergone a huge change.

But this is his mission down the mountain this time, and within his capabilities, plus Black Wind Village Mountain Bandits have committed numerous evil deeds, there’s absolutely no rationale for killing some trivial henchmen and leaving!

If the three leaders of Black Wind Village aren’t eliminated, this scourge will always exist.

Then, Ye Chen quickly set out for Zhang Family Village.

Half an hour later.

Ye Chen arrived at a mountaintop.

In his view, a village nestled in the valley, peaceful and tranquil, with smoke curling up from kitchens!

”Who are you, where did you come from?!”

Suddenly, a cold voice came from behind Ye Chen.

Ye Chen turned around.

A man and a woman appeared in his view.

The man carried a sword, the woman a knife, both around twenty years old, with strong auras, and both in the Elemental Wheel Realm.

While Ye Chen was observing the two, they were also observing Ye Chen.

The woman broke the silence with a hint of arrogance in her voice, ”We are from Feiyang Martial Arts Academy, I am Qin Jing, and this is my senior brother Zeng Ming.”
