Supreme Sword God

Chapter 70: Chapter 69: Pursuit and Clash of Titans

Ye Chen walked to the side of the Peng bird lying on the ground. Though his legs could move, they were still somewhat weak, and he couldn’t make a graceful leap onto the bird’s back. He could only grab the feathers and climb up slowly.

”Grab any more and you’ll pluck all its feathers out.”

Fatty couldn’t bear to watch and stepped forward to help Ye Chen up onto the bird’s back.

”In your condition, who can you kill?” Fatty asked, for once seriously.

”Once I catch up, I’ll find the strength!” Ye Chen replied.

The Celestial Sword Sect had almost become a demon in his heart.

”There’s really no need. The one who left earlier might not know your identity. Maybe he didn’t come specifically to kill you; he saw you were a Cangxing Martial Arts Academy disciple and then made his move. Similar incidents have happened many times between Cangxing Martial Arts Academy and the Celestial Sword Sect.”

Ye Chen said, ”He looked quite a bit like Gu Yue.”

When he said this.

Fatty realized that no further words could change Ye Chen’s mind.

Gu Yue had caused the tragic death of over a hundred of Ye Chen’s clan members. Now, a guy from the Celestial Sword Sect looked like Gu Yue, perhaps even a descendant of his.

No wonder Ye Chen was so determined!

”Forget it, I’ll go with you. This dumb bird doesn’t always listen. I’ll help control it, so you don’t fall to your death before you catch your enemy.”

Fatty jumped up to the back of the Peng bird.

The bird crouched down, its body noticeably sinking.

”I’m going too.”

Luo Tian suddenly spoke up.

”Don’t make things worse,” Fatty said, speechless.

We’re off to do serious business; what are you getting all excited about?

In Fatty’s mind, only he and Ye Chen were truly strong among those attending the freshman hunting event; the rest were just trash.

”That guy not only tried to shoot Brother Ye, but also me. I must cut him down!” Luo Tian said with determination, having sensed the killing intent locked onto him earlier.

”My big bird can’t carry three people,” Fatty said, not wanting another burden.

”I just cut down someone at the Peak of Qi Sea,” Luo Tian said emphatically. ”I recover quickly; in at most half an hour, I can cut down another Peak of Qi Sea.”

”Hurry up and get on.”

Fatty’s eyes lit up.

Being able to cut down someone at the Peak of Qi Sea meant he wasn’t a burden at all!

Unexpectedly, the new students from Cangxing Martial Arts Academy this year were full of hidden talents!

”Give me a hand.”

Luo Tian, standing next to the Peng bird, looked up at Fatty.

A moment later.

The Peng bird took off, flying in the direction the red-robed man from Celestial Sword Sect had left.

It wobbled as it flew.

But the speed was decent.

...

”Xiao Yuanshan, I’m done with you for now. If there’s a chance, I’ll come to Cangxing Martial Arts Academy and spar with you, hahaha!”

The elder from Celestial Sword Sect had fought with Xiao Yuanshan for a long time, and now loud whistling sounds were coming from all directions as the strong from Cangxing Martial Arts Academy arrived. There was no point in continuing the fight, so he flashed and left immediately.

On the other side.

Yuan Polu held a large hammer with a long handle, pushing two middle-aged men from Celestial Sword Sect back step by step.

They also wanted to leave.

Yuan Polu suddenly shouted, and his large hammer flew out, smashing one into pieces. He stepped out and instantly crossed a hundred meters to appear behind the other one, throwing a punch that shattered his head.

The battle ended.

Xiao Yuanshan happened to fly to Yuan Polu’s side.

Yuan Polu raised his hand, and the large iron hammer flew back into his grip.

Though stared at by Xiao Yuanshan, Yuan Polu didn’t care.

It would be better not to get noticed.

But if they did notice, so be it.

”What are you staring at? If I hadn’t happened to pass by Luoyao Mountain Range, my junior brother would be dead. Elder Xiao, you’re in charge of this year’s freshman hunting event, and things have gone seriously wrong. You better have an explanation!”

Yuan Polu was straightforward.

But he also knew to strike first, not giving Xiao Yuanshan a chance to question why he was there.

Xiao Yuanshan’s face darkened.

This year’s hunting event appeared to let the newcomers have a loose rein, but actually, before it even started, the Martial Arts Academy had sent a group to seal off this large area!

Someone coming here to assassinate academy disciples meant either those in charge of the blockade let them in on purpose, or someone had hidden here beforehand.

No matter the possibility.

As the person responsible for this hunting event, Xiao Yuanshan couldn’t shirk his responsibility.

”Yuan Polu, I’m not dodging my responsibility,” Xiao Yuanshan said with a steely face.

”Then go explain it to my teacher. There have been people targeting my junior brother throughout this hunting event. I’m taking him back first,” Yuan Polu snorted coldly and then prepared to take Ye Chen away.

But when he got to where Ye Chen had been.

He was dumbfounded.

His junior brother... was gone again!

Xiao Yuanshan also came over and didn’t see Ye Chen, but he did see the female corpse on the ground.

A cold glint flashed in his eyes!

”The Bai Family dares this much!”

”The Bai Family?” Yuan Polu looked at Xiao Yuanshan.

”This woman is a direct descendant of the Bai Family.”

Yuan Polu pondered and said, ”There was also a scholarly-looking middle-aged man with this woman, at the Elemental Wheel Realm Fourth Layer.

This woman, my junior brother stabbed her with a sword.

The man, I hammered him to death, he’s that pile of meat paste beside you.”

”Bai Sha!”

Based on Yuan Polu’s description, Xiao Yuanshan immediately identified the middle-aged man.

Yuan Polu said, ”Since the Bai Family is involved, Elder Xiao, how will the academy handle it?”

”Kill!”

Xiao Yuanshan shouted angrily, then looked at the martial academy elites who had arrived, ”Go into Unrivaled County, apprehend the key members of the Bai Family, any resistance, kill without mercy!”

There’s no need to report back to the academy. Just do it.

Xiao Yuanshan was truly furious, tasked with this year’s freshman hunting event, only to have all kinds of nobodies show up. Even mud figures have a temper!

Yuan Polu quickly focused back on the main issue, ”Elder Xiao, arrange for some people to help find my junior brother.”

Xiao Yuanshan nodded and said, ”The rest of you, disperse and search. As for those still hunting, observe discreetly, don’t disturb them. Report back here in an hour!”

One hour later.

All the elite martial artists who went out to search returned to Xiao Yuanshan.

No one found Ye Chen.

Among the counted names, some had died.

But three were missing.

Spirit Martial System’s Ye Chen, Star Martial System’s Luo Tian, and Star Alchemy System’s Yu Hui!

Xiao Yuanshan’s face turned deathly pale.

Without Ye Chen, Spirit Martial System’s Yang Tianji would surely erupt in anger.

Yu Hui... that plump guy who’d just joined the Star Alchemy System for a month but was already highly valued as an undisputed alchemy genius.

Luo Tian, for whom the Star Martial System was also highly concerned, to the point where even Dean Ouyang Shang inquired personally about Luo Tian’s cultivation progress.

This year, Cangxing Martial Arts Academy recruited fewer than usual.

And the three most outstanding recruits... all missing!

The situation has grown serious!

Suddenly, someone spoke up, ”Elder Xiao, someone just saw a giant Peng bird with three people on it... they should be... deep in the Luoyao Mountain Range...”

Yuan Polu, without a word, hefted his big iron hammer and headed deeper into Luoyao Mountain Range.

Xiao Yuanshan bit his lip and said, ”I’ll go in there myself. You all keep things under control here, no more mistakes allowed!”
