Supreme Sword God

Chapter 57: Chapter 57: The Hunting Trip and Secret Manipulations

Yuan Polu was a bit disgruntled, cautiously raising his head and muttering, ”Teacher, the Star Spirit System is despicable and shameless, they had some old guys interfere secretly, otherwise I would have won completely.”

Liu Meng’Er was also somewhat displeased, saying, ”Teacher, the Star Martial System is the same, there were instructors secretly meddling.”

Ye Chen said nothing.

There’s nothing much to say, he won completely.

The only regret is that the points he earned were a bit too few.

But soon Ye Chen felt relieved.

Brother and sister fought against people from the intermediate and advanced classes, so they earned more points.

He fought against beginners, so those guys didn’t have as many points.

Yang Tianji snorted coldly and said, ”This matter has already become quite the uproar, these past two days, both the Star Spirit System and the Star Martial System have taken this up with the dean, and the dean has also come to speak with me.

This trend cannot continue!

It must be dealt with sternly!

Starting today, Polu, you’ll stay in the Spirit Control Room for a month.

And Meng’Er, you’ll stay at the Crumbling Cliff for a month.”

Yang Tianji looked at Ye Chen, finding it a bit difficult to handle, he said, ”I heard from Meng’Er that you have been drawing Spirit Engravings?”

Ye Chen nodded.

Yang Tianji asked, ”How many?”

”Four sets.”

Ye Chen answered honestly, there was nothing to hide, he would still need the teacher’s help in learning how to merge spirit and martial arts.

”You haven’t properly read the Thousand Spirits Secret Manual I gave you, what do you mean four sets, four threads is just four threads, a set is nine threads!” Yang Tianji said with faint irritation.

Four sets in just a few days?

Is it possible?

Might as well ascend to heaven!

But of course, four threads, that’s quite genius too, he hadn’t judged him wrongly.

Without waiting for Ye Chen to explain, Yang Tianji continued, ”I won’t punish you now, but before the Hunting Event, draw out seven threads of Spirit Engravings for me, if you can’t do it, I’ll deal with you after the Hunting Event!”

In Yang Tianji’s view, Ye Chen, using the effects of the Spirit Tower, had already drawn four threads of Spirit Engravings.

There were about half a month left until the Hunting Event.

Drawing three more threads seemed easy, but actually was not easy.

The drawn Spirit Engravings require nurturing with Spiritual Power, which would delay the progress, and moreover, if the Sea of Consciousness cannot bear it, then it needs to be stabilized with Spiritual Power.

The way of a Spirit Master is quite similar to that of a Martial Artist, the further you go, the harder it gets.

And merging spirit with martial arts, every Spirit Master and Martial Artist must go through this bottleneck.

”Teacher, I will certainly try my best,” said Ye Chen.

In half a month, even without any points for the Spirit Tower, Ye Chen estimated that he should at least manage to draw out one or two sets of Spirit Engravings.

Moreover, it would be the Tier Two kind.

This teacher, when serious, seemed to have quite a temper.

Ye Chen didn’t say much more.

After all he had spoken truthfully, it wasn’t his fault that the teacher didn’t believe him.

Yang Tianji waved his hand, saying, ”Go do what you need to do, why are you still standing here?”

After the three had left.

Yang Tianji returned to the room.

Inside, the dean of Cangxing Martial Arts Academy, Ouyang Shang, was sitting next to the table, took a sip of Spirit Tea, and said with a bitter smile, ”Elder Yang, don’t you think this punishment is a bit too lenient? It might not quell the chaos, both sides are shouting and demanding a fight... Several prodigies have come out because of this.”

Yang Tianji responded indifferently, ”Tell Meng Changtian and He Dong to calm down.

Moreover, regarding Meng Changtian, dean, you should keep a tight watch, if he ever dares to get any ideas on Ye Chen again, don’t blame me for not being courteous.

On that day, Qian Xue helped Ye Chen vent some anger, so I didn’t pursue the matter further.

But don’t force me to pursue it, if I do, no one will be able to enjoy the consequences.”

Ouyang Shang chuckled, saying, ”Alright then, I’ll be leaving now.”

......

”Junior brother, do you know why the teacher punished us like this?” Liu Meng’Er started the conversation.

Ye Chen said, ”Senior sister, please enlighten me.”

Liu Meng’Er replied, ”Because senior brother is cultivating the merging of Spirit Seal and Qi Blood, but he’s focused solely on tempering his body and lacks mastery over the power of the Spirit Seal, so the teacher wants senior brother to stay in the Spirit Control Room for a month and refine his skills.

And I am cultivating the merging of Spirit Seal and Primordial Power, but also need a strong physique to bear this power, hence the teacher wants me to train at the Crumbling Cliff for a month.

The goal set for you by the teacher to draw seven threads of Spirit Engravings within half a month carries deeper significance, because once you’ve drawn seven threads, junior brother, you will be able to use a special technique, which will give you extra security during the Hunting Event.”

Perhaps fearing Ye Chen misunderstand Yang Tianji, Liu Meng’Er purposely explained these matters to Ye Chen.

Yuan Polu also nodded, saying, ”The teacher’s stern attitude is all for show, I’m just giving him face by not exposing him, he’s getting older, don’t want to agitate him into a fit.”

Aren’t you afraid of being beaten to death by the teacher, senior brother?

This tough exterior seems to really withstand a beating.

Ye Chen finally understood why the teacher hadn’t let him seek guidance from this senior brother; it’s likely his brain is all muscles.

Ye Chen changed the topic and asked, ”Senior brother, senior sister, what is this Hunting Event all about?”

Liu Meng’Er explained, ”It’s nothing much, just a practical test, entering the Luoyao Mountain Range to battle with beasts, the top ten will get rewards, but the rewards differ each year.”

Ye Chen asked, ”Will Huang Qinglan be there?”

Liu Meng’Er frowned and looked at Ye Chen, saying, ”The Hunting Event is only for newly admitted disciples, she won’t appear.

Junior brother, I know the grudge between you and Huang Qinglan, but now isn’t the time. Although you heavily injured Huang Qinglan last time, there were too many coincidences then; one being her underestimating your strength, another her unfamiliarity with the power of the Earth Spirit Seal.

Rumor has it, she is now in seclusion, aiming to break through to a Tier Three Spirit Master.

The Earth Spirit Seal she has gathered is formed with five sets of Spirit Engravings, once she’s familiar with this power, her strength will be formidable.”

Ye Chen hummed in acknowledgment, not saying much.

In this Hunting Event, if he doesn’t act, would the Star Spirit System folks remain passive?

Moreover, the Star Martial System will likely have moves planned too.

Moments later, the three parted ways.

Ye Chen had just returned to his residence.

Luo Qingyi’s voice transmission resounded in Ye Chen’s mind.

”Enter the Sword Tomb!”

Upon hearing these three words.

Ye Chen was thrilled!

He hadn’t entered the Sword Tomb for nearly half a month, and it seemed Luo Qingyi had finally suppressed those two legs on the second level.

With a thought.

Ye Chen appeared on the second level of the Sword Tomb.

Different from the first level of the Sword Tomb, there were few tombstones here.

However, each tombstone was enormous!

Moreover, the graves behind the tombstones were even larger!

The surrounding Demonic Qi swirled more intensely.

Before Ye Chen, green light flickered, and Luo Qingyi’s figure appeared.

”In the second level of the Sword Tomb, each tombstone is composed of several Sword Qi, furthermore, refining these tombstones won’t significantly enhance your cultivation, because this is mainly to help you comprehend Sword Intent.

Regarding Sword Intent, it’s not necessary to comprehend it fully, but there are five types of Sword Intent that you must grasp.”

”Please, Elder Qingyi, tell me.”

”Five Elements Sword Intent.

Once you comprehend Five Elements Sword Intent, you will unlock an inheritance named the Five Elements Extreme Sword Technique, an inheritance sufficient for usage up to the Elemental Wheel Realm, it stands as a lower Earth Tier!

This Five Elements Extreme Sword Technique is also linked to another powerful inheritance, mastering it equates to holding the key to unlocking another inheritance.”

Lower Earth Tier!

Ye Chen’s heart burned with excitement!

Suddenly, Ye Chen realized another issue and asked, ”Elder Qingyi, what about those two legs?”

Luo Qingyi said, ”You refine some tombstones first, then I’ll take you to deal with those two legs.”

Ye Chen: ”...”
