Bear School Astartes

During the energy gathering process of the [Supernova], the Flame Princess Dragon let out an unprecedented roar of pain as its crown horn was shattered.

It seemed to suffer a great impact, like being stabbed directly by a dragon spear.

The entire dragon convulsed backward and fell down.

Its wings and limbs seemed to be unsteady, flailing on the ground for several seconds before standing up again.

It lowered its body, baring its fangs, and stared fiercely and fiercely at the two hunters.

The crown horn seemed to be merely a simple hard offensive organ, but its essence and purpose were for controlling energy.

This kind of organ being connected to the nervous system is quite normal.

That’s why Lann and Wende weren’t surprised by the Flame Princess Dragon’s current actions.

However, although the Flame Princess Dragon now looked ready to bite back in anger, its actions became more cautious than before.

Its movements were no longer random, and its wings would no longer unfold recklessly...

It seemed to consider the two tiny creatures in front of it, who had a bit of momentum, as actual threats.

Lann frowned at the Flame Princess Dragon, while Wende made a move.

He swung his dual blades wildly, without any pattern at all.

He walked over to where the broken pieces of the Flame Princess Dragon’s crown horn lay, stomping on them viciously, and with the menacing helmet of the Fog Nest Master set, he yelled at the Flame Princess Dragon.

”Whoa!!!”

Lann, carrying [Muddy Stream·Destruction], was a bit bewildered, but even though the Flame Princess Dragon bared its teeth even more due to Wende’s actions, its actions became even more hesitant.

Wende lifted his helmet and turned to give Lann a signal with his eyes, urging him to follow his lead.

Lann somewhat understood, as this seemed to be the drama of mutual intimidation and yelling between powerful monsters.

But he wasn’t a traditional hunter active in the New Continent like Wende, as a Demon Hunter, he wasn’t sure if it would work.

Feeling a bit uncertain, the young Demon Hunter scratched his head and stood next to Wende under the gaze of the Flame Princess Dragon.

Then he lifted his greatsword and pointed it toward the Ancient Dragon not far away.

”Wo, woah!!!”

The shouting and the sword tip pointing forward made the Flame Princess Dragon reflexively jump to the side, lowering its body even further, looking more tense and cautious.

”This really works?”

Lann dared not turn his head, he could only mumble and ask Wende beside him.

”No problem. Monsters do this during territorial disputes, I’ve seen it many times!” Wende said in a muffled voice under his helmet.

”Though monsters first yell at each other, then exchange blows to confirm strengths, if not hunting, they know it’s hard to kill each other, so fights rarely end in death.”

The monsters’ vigorous life force, they can even feel it themselves and are accustomed to it.

By biting off a section of the tail or even half a wing, after ten days or half a month, it would mostly recover, a normal loss in the process of mutual intimidation.

And a monster like the Extinct Dragon, which grows back its torn-off claws right in front, is the hardest of the hardest to handle.

”But this Flame Princess Dragon is in mating season, with a volatile temper.” Wende stomped vigorously on the broken crown horn on the ground, as if showing it to the Flame Princess Dragon.

”And it’s too proud, completely disregards us, that’s why it started fighting immediately.”

”Now that it lost one side of the crown horn and confirmed our ability to harm it, it can now use roars for mutual intimidation.”

The current situation has reversed the territorial dispute process of the monsters.

From yelling twice then confirming strengths, to first confirming the ability to harm each other, then yelling to see if there’s an intention to retreat.

Their task wasn’t to hunt Ancient Dragon but to drive away the lingering Flame King Dragon.

Though they’ve gone through a series of twists, ultimately, it’s just changing the target to drive away the Flame Princess Dragon, not a conflict.

If they could directly drive it away, it would be the best.

Lann thought to himself.

Although he also enjoyed fighting these wild, natural monsters, under this terrain, if the Flame Princess Dragon were truly enraged, it might create a volcano.

And although Wende’s behavior seemed normal, Lann had vaguely started smelling the scent of protein being roasted under his armor.

It seemed even with three [Advanced North Wind] paving the way, rolling a circle on Flame Princess Dragon’s back in the [Supernova] state was not without cost.

The Flame Princess Dragon’s eyes moved back and forth between Wende and Lann, issuing a low, threatening growl due to the mating season and injury.

But it showed no sign of moving toward the two hunters.

Lann found Wende’s trick indeed useful, a ’nature’s negotiation method.’

Thus, he also stomped hard on the broken piece of the Flame Princess Dragon’s crown horn, and yelled at it again.

The eerie aura of the Smaug scale armor, and the mixed intimidation and momentum released from the armor composed of Fog Nest Master Terror Dragon materials, were unleashed without restriction.

With every movement of Lann, the light sound of scale plates of [Smaug] clashing and rubbing seemed like a huge evil dragon stretching its body and sharpening its claws and teeth.

Making people feel cold for no reason after hearing.

And Wende’s Fog Nest Master set adopted all materials from the Fog Nest Master.

The aura of his armor, if unleashed without restraint, is downright brutally manic!

It’s like a Terror Tyrannosaurus driven insane by its insatiable appetite.

In nature, everyone fears a mad creature.

Even if they aren’t afraid, at the very least, they wouldn’t want to make contact.

The standoff continued this way, amidst the Flame Princess Dragon’s low growls and the armed threat from the two Hunters, for over ten seconds.

Finally, it was the Ancient Dragon that slowly stood upright first.

The eyes of the Flame Princess Dragon gazed across the two ’little things’ opposite.

Originally in a pouncing posture like a feline before an attack, it slowly stood up straight.

The Flame Princess Dragon resumed a posture of head held high, presenting an aristocratic demeanor akin to a noble lady.

This Flame Princess Dragon had just appeared and ripped half a claw off the Extinct Dragon, vicious and feral, yet this noble posture was a first for Lann.

However, Wende breathed a sigh of relief; he must have seen this calm-restoring demeanor of the Flame Princess Dragon in the Old Continent.

It maintained its distance and paced backward.

Its posture, head held high with an elegance surpassing any feline, was like a dignified queen.

The missing section of bone plate and keratin crown on its head added a dangerous, flawed beauty to its appearance.

The azure Flame Queen cast one last discerning glance at the two Hunters.

Mixed within was a wise calculation and contemplation.

Finally, with a thrust of its four limbs, wings flapping, it let out a defiant roar and flew towards the opening at the top of the barrel-shaped mountain.

The temperature was dropping, the flames extinguishing.

However, due to the mountain’s unique terrain making it difficult to dissipate heat, it would probably take some time for the temperature to return to normal.

Rong Buqiu and Gaffi consecutively leaped down from the high platform, trotting over to the two Hunters.

”Wende! [Cold Drink] and [Large Healing Potion] Meow!”

Gaffi appeared to understand Wende’s current state well, handing over two bottles of Potion.

Having worked with Wende for a long time, Gaffi could immediately detect what Lann still needed time to observe and was ready to assist.

Rong Buqiu looked at his senior Hunting Cat, nodding thoughtfully.

In the path of becoming a companion Hunting Cat, he still seemed to have a gap compared to an old hand like Gaffi.

Gaffi pulled a Potion from his small cat backpack, but Wende didn’t put down the twin blades in his hands to take it.

Instead, Lann took it from Gaffi, opened the bottle with two ’pop-pop’ sounds, lifted Wende’s helmet, and poured it into his mouth.

”Your hands, are they now roasted and stuck to the gauntlets?”

Lann asked as he gave him a bottle of [Cold Drink] to lower his body temperature.

Having been in contact so often with the back of the Flame Princess Dragon in a [Supernova] charged state, the gauntlets of the Fog Nest Master set were still emitting heat like iron being forged.

”It’s not a big deal, not a severe injury. A bottle of [Large Healing Potion] and a few days of rest will do.”

Wende said with a grateful smile as he drank the Potion.

”In combat, I’d forcibly tear open the adhesion inside the gauntlets and grab the Potion with my hands. But we’re done fighting, no need to suffer that agony.”

Wende’s skill, physical and willpower were undisputable; in Lann’s view, they were top-notch. Forcing open roasted adhered skin, even in battle, wouldn’t cause his hands to tremble even slightly.

Just like Lann could unblinkingly and steadily open his chest cavity to perform surgery on his cardiovascular system.

These are top Warriors, top Hunters.

On the other hand, the efficacy of the Potions in this world left Lann quite astounded.

A bit of processed herbs becomes a [Healing Potion], add honey, and it becomes a [Large Healing Potion], capable of addressing injuries that would incapacitate an ordinary person like Wende’s.

Whose Potion can have such an efficacy leap just by adding honey?

Lann planned to transplant some of the New Continent’s plants to his place to see if they could be cultivated.

But even in his most optimistic estimates, the herbs cultivated in his place would still have far inferior efficacy compared to those native to the New Continent.

The difference in life force within the environments was vast.

”It’s a pity.” With Lann’s help, Wende swallowed another [Large Healing Potion] raising his hands that couldn’t release their grip. ”My pair of [Ice Chain Swords] are ruined.”

He couldn’t open his hands, hence couldn’t release the twin blades within them.

This pair, crafted from material sourced from Wind Drifting Dragon, was forged with a mixture of Ancient Dragon’s Blood, originally possessing a streamlined, elegant appearance.

They beautifully represented the aesthetic of the Wind Drifting Dragon.

But now, they had become two warped and pockmarked iron rods due to the high heat.

The twin blades’ form was lost.

In the end, Wende probably resorted to smashing, bashing down the cracked crown horn of the Flame Princess Dragon.

For weapons of this level, it was normal for them to be damaged in encounters with the Flame Princess Dragon.
