Bear School Astartes

After the initial excitement, the group’s leader raised his hand, patted Lann on the shoulder, and issued a reminder.

”The Liberation of Power that comes from the materials of this Terror Tyrannosaurus is quite fierce. Even among many pieces of equipment that can unlock Liberation of Power, it ranks among the fiercest.”

”Don’t be reckless when using it, or you might end up crushing your own hand bones!”

Lann nodded upon hearing this, but he wasn’t really worried about it.

In general human development, muscular strength from training exceeds the bone’s capacity.

So it’s possible for tensed muscles to break one’s own bones.

This is a limitation of physiological structure.

But Lann’s bones and muscles have been fortified, with bone reinforcement preceding muscle enhancement.

The longer the fortification, the deeper the degree of reinforcement.

Even the cellular structure inside the bones is more scientifically designed, better able to withstand pressure.

Moreover, his Tendon Coil increases not only muscular output but also defense.

The force exerted by the muscles on the bones is partially guided away by steel cables within the muscle layers before it reaches the bone.

It would be strange if he couldn’t withstand it.

However, even though his body structure is beyond that of normal people, the Liberation of Power derived from the Fog Nest Master’s essence has side effects that can’t be underestimated.

After just a short moment of activation, Lann felt his muscles starting to ache.

This indicates that even his endocrine system was struggling to metabolize the sudden accumulation of lactic acid.

Lann then moved his body to fully adapt to the motion with the armor.

Next came a series of magic seal releases, and indeed, as Belengar said, the magic seal’s intensity was greatly enhanced.

No wonder when he first met Ged, that fellow Bear School disciple was desperately earning money to upgrade his school armor.

Compared to the improvement of magic seals through a demon hunter’s personal training, the enhancement brought by equipment is vast and immediate.

However, Lann himself generally didn’t feel much.

After all, his magic power has always grown concurrently with his body’s strength.

”This armor set, this blueprint needs a name!” The group’s leader raised a hand triumphantly as if announcing something major. ”A resounding name! This is the first set of Ancient Dragon Level equipment produced by our workshop!”

Standing beside him, Belengar pursed his lips, clearly holding back a retort as the one-eyed, bald man spoke.

Lann, seeing this, blinked, bewildered.

”The Lonely Mountain Evil Dragon: Sinister Gold!”

He declared with great pride. Almost immediately, there was an outcry of praise from the apprentices.

”Great name! Full of momentum!”

The bare-chested lead apprentice, whose arms were still glistening with sweat, was the first to cheer, looking as if he had just been working.

This was followed by a wave of agreement.

Without a doubt, the name suited the local artisans’ aesthetic.

But Lann and Belengar stood together, speaking softly to each other.

”It doesn’t matter what they call it here,” Belengar grumbled through clenched teeth, ”but if you go back and still use this name? I wouldn’t dare say I made it when I return! The name is just too...”

Lann nodded in agreement, as if it needed no further explanation: ”Might as well call it Smaug.”

And so, while the New Continent’s craftsmen indulged in self-celebration, the true name of the armor was settled.

Lann began lightly jumping on the spot, letting himself adjust to the weight of the new armor.

The armor’s function was not as simple as Belengar had described.

The inclusion of the Fog Nest Master’s thick hide introduced some New Continent armor traits into it.

Even after the monsters from the New Continent die, materials taken from their corpses remain ”alive” when affixed to equipment.

This exaggerated vitality and activity, coupled with the essence of the monsters, brought hunters not only pressure but also intensity!

If the armor were genuinely made entirely of Terror Tyrannosaurus materials, it’s said in legends that the wearer would constantly be tormented by the Hunger and Fury in the Terror Tyrannosaurus’s Essence.

The twisted mental state of the Terror Tyrannosaurus would remain partially intact, continuously oppressing the wearer through its essence.

While providing power and endurance far beyond the norm, craftsmen would sometimes even cautiously add iron chains to secure the wearer and armor from potential loss of control in urgent situations.

This is why, despite the Fog Nest Master’s enormous corpse lying in the arena, few hunters dare to fashion a set of armor from it.

...A typical armor made from Terror Tyrannosaurus materials is already beyond what average people can bear. Let alone the second-ranked Fog Nest Master!

However, I heard that Wende has already placed an order... Truly a terrifying hunter.

The carefree craftsmen of the New Continent have already started cheering, celebrating the birth of the first armor made from ancient dragon-level materials in the workshop.

The scorching furnaces, spewing heat, had no effect on them whatsoever.

Belengar quite envies this group of carefree companions, but unfortunately, he’s past that age.

Standing next to Lann, Belengar simply reached to his lower back and pulled out a dagger that, in his hands, resembled a short sword.

”Take it.” The old Demon Hunter reversed the grip and handed it to Lann.

Lann looked down and took the dagger.

In Belengar’s hand it was like a shorter one-handed sword, but in Lann’s hand, it was just right as a dagger.

Lann slightly drew the blade from the scabbard.

The Valyrian steel’s wave-like black patterns appeared exquisite and serene on it.

The whole design of the dagger, in fact, was an enlarged version of his previous Dragonbone Dagger.

Lann had previously entrusted all his equipment to Belengar, including the dagger stuck to his armor belt.

He originally thought that Belengar had just added some Valyrian steel to the dagger and resized it to fit his current hand size.

However, upon drawing the dagger, the obscure hue of blue on the blade made him understand it was not as simple as ”adding some steel.”

”Besides Smaug’s dragon scales and dragonhide, didn’t you also bring along a blue wolf pelt and claws?”

The old Demon Hunter scratched his chin, looking puzzled at the ’dagger.’

”I initially thought you always said the dagger was too small, so I intended to use that big wolf’s claws and teeth to modify your Dragonbone Dagger. But then, how should I put it...”

His mouth moved, smacking for a while in confusion before he spoke.

”What exactly was that wolf you killed?”

Zhao Ge Luyin, the first Demon Wolf recreated by the Demon Monarch Sorun in the Ardan World during the Third Era, was bestowed the same name as the progenitor of Demon Wolves from the First Era thousands of years ago.

”You used that wolf’s claws?” Lann raised an eyebrow but didn’t explain the origin of Zhao Ge Luyin. ”So what’s the situation with this dagger now?”

The history of the Ardan World is long and clear, as a bunch of essentially ageless elves have been around the whole time, remembering everything.

Trying to explain everything all at once would be too cumbersome and involves too much.

”I also don’t know what’s going on.” Belengar shrugged. ”Isn’t forging Valyrian steel supposed to need materials from magical creatures? I figured such a big wolf must be very magical, so I just added it.”

”And then this thing came out.”

Looking at this dagger blade that clearly differed from ordinary Valyrian Steel Weapons, Belengar scratched his head even more.

”I don’t know what’s going on with it, but I always feel it might not be that simple.”

Being a Blacksmith, even if he doesn’t have the ability to fully understand things, Belengar still has his instincts.

The sharpness of this dagger was extremely exaggerated, even in its unpolished state after he forged it.

A Fierce Jackal Dragon leather used for wiping the blade accidentally brushed against it, resulting in a clean, precise cut almost immediately.

Belengar was dumbfounded, thinking he might have mistakenly thought he hadn’t polished the blade yet.

But that wasn’t all... Belengar always felt that even this level of sharpness was just the surface of this dagger.

Lann held the blade in front of his eyes, and his gaze grew deep.

”... It’s a fine dagger.” After a glance, he smiled and hung the appropriately-sized large dagger onto the belt of his new armor.

Belengar stared straight at Lann, waiting for three seconds before giving an annoyed ’humph.’

”So, you already know what deeper powers this dagger holds, but you don’t want to tell me?”

”That’s right.” Lann tilted his head with a smile, ”Because it makes your reaction much more interesting.”

Feeling a bit teased, the old Demon Hunter’s mouth twitched speechlessly.

Meanwhile, Lann and Rong Buqiu, having received the new equipment and begun adapting to it,

proceeded to leave the workshop that was still celebrating the creation of ancient dragon-level equipment.

Earlier, Rong Buqiu and Belengar, along with the Second Unit Captain, went through the situation again.

It was said that no one made sure to notify Lann first, and the person involved still only stumbled upon the news by chance.

In the end, it was discovered that among these three guys, two were totally absorbed by new forging techniques and monster materials, while the other was immersed in the joy of helping friends with cooking.

So basically everyone was very happy, that was it.

In the end, this one passed the notification to that one, and that one pushed it back, resulting in Lann, the person most deserving of the notification, knowing nothing at all.

But what could be done about it?

Facing Rong Buqiu’s large watery eyes staring at you, could you really blame the cat?

”That wouldn’t be right; I’m just an adorable Three-Floral Elu Cat.jpg”
