Bear School Astartes

A wing interrupted the Flame King Dragon’s breath, and the Extinct Dragon clearly had no intention of stopping.

One of its foreclaws pushed the wing aside, while the other was already raised high.

The Flame King Dragon, which had its head tilted and had not adjusted its posture in time, could not see the Extinct Dragon’s movements from its perspective.

Therefore, it had no preparation to dodge or withstand the attack.

The Extinct Dragon, with its paw raised, along with its entire upper body, straightened up.

This slap wasn’t just about the power of the claw itself; this claw already held the skill of the attack, mobilizing the strength of muscles and bones from at least half the body!

The mouth of the Extinct Dragon twitched angrily and viciously as always.

This slap was aimed at the head of the Flame King Dragon!

Though with the exaggerated life force of New Continent monsters, especially the Ancient Dragon Species, the life force is even more exaggerated. The Flame King Dragon couldn’t possibly die from just a slap to the head by the Extinct Dragon.

But dizziness and temporary body loss of control were unavoidable.

Once this happened, the direction of the subsequent battle was already clear.

This Flame King Dragon... won’t be eaten by the Extinct Dragon in this arena, will it?

Seeing the Extinct Dragon’s dominance over the Flame King Dragon, the thought immediately crossed the minds of Wende and Lann.

Perhaps what they’ll have to deal with later isn’t the Flame King Dragon enjoying the arena, but this old rival in front of them.

”But...” Lann, already quietly bringing Rong Buqiu to the [Dragon Spear] activation lever, touched his forehead, looked solemnly at the sweat rapidly evaporating on his glove leather.

”Why is the temperature getting higher and higher?”

The Flame King Dragon is being suppressed by the Extinct Dragon, its opponent gathering strength from half its body to slap its head as Lann anticipated, instantly stunning the Flame King Dragon.

The subsequent more violent attacks continued.

The Flame King Dragon’s immortal flames weakened considerably in this process, as if those flames reflected the state of the Flame King Dragon’s life.

But the anomaly was: as the source of high temperature, the Flame King Dragon’s flames were weakening, yet the temperature in the field was rising rapidly!

The effect of [cold drinks] was almost unable to withstand anymore!

The current environmental temperature was no longer just the uncomfortable [high temperature], but the [high heat] that could cause direct damage to the body!

At this time, while Flame King Dragon’s red fur flew wildly due to the Extinct Dragon’s clawing everywhere, the glowing red scales scattered into the air.

Those scales drifted in the air, heated to the point of distortion, like foam on waves, floating and spreading.

But suddenly, from the direction of the sky, another color of scales began to fall, intertwining with the fiery red scales.

These were shiny blue-purple scales.

Except for the color, they were almost identical to the Flame King Dragon’s scales.

The blue-purple scales descending from the sky fell like bright silk, directly landing on the Extinct Dragon in the surging hot air.

With a ”boom!” sound!

Unlike the Flame King Dragon’s flames, they burst into blue-purple eerie flames on the Extinct Dragon!

”Roar!”

The Extinct Dragon, ready to continue attacking the Flame King Dragon, let out a more painful and fierce sound facing these flames than when facing the Flame King Dragon’s breath before.

It seemed that these flames hurt it more deeply than the Flame King Dragon’s breath!

Its originally brutal and decisive attack paused, muscles tense.

Lann observes from above.

This eerie blue-purple flame was different from the Flame King Dragon, not seeming as hot purely in terms of temperature, but more adhesive and invasive.

After falling on the Extinct Dragon, rather than burning the outer layers of skin, followed by the inner meat being scalded, as when accepting the Flame King Dragon’s breath.

It directly permeated the Extinct Dragon’s body at the point of contact!

”Roar!”

Alongside the luminous blue-purple scales, a dragon of the same color as the scales descended from the sky.

It seemed very irritable.

Even when the Extinct Dragon landed before the Flame King Dragon, they paused briefly to confirm hostility before officially fighting.

But this Ancient Dragon didn’t bother with anything extra, it just started fighting directly!

Nana Discator.

The female of the Ancient Dragon species known as [Sun Flame Dragon], hunters usually call it [Flame Princess Dragon].

After appearing, first came its unique flames, followed by brutal melee.

Even compared to the current Extinct Dragon, Lann thought this Flame Princess Dragon seemed far fiercer.

Its head crown differed from Flame King Dragon, lacking its sharpness, resembling more an ornamental, elegant crown.

But its actions completely mismatched this elegance.

The azure Ancient Dragon descending from the sky simply flapped its wings to slow down when it was about to land.

Its body still airborne, its sharp, scorching mouth had already bit directly on the Extinct Dragon’s claw!

The continuous sound of crunching bones filled the air.

Amidst this, the Flame Princess Dragon used the momentum of the plunge to bite and stretch tight the tendon deep in the Extinct Dragon’s claw, finally snapping it!

With a ”tear” sound, not only were the deep muscle tendons, but even the muscle and skin were directly ripped apart by the Flame Princess Dragon’s mouth!

”Ow!”

The Extinct Dragon winced in pain and flung its hand, sending the Flame Princess Dragon flying, the charred half of its claw still in her mouth.

The eyes of the Flame Princess Dragon were cold and brutal as they stared at the Extinct Dragon with its severed hand.

Right in front of the Extinct Dragon, she chewed the torn-off segment of the hand piece by piece, blood at the corners of her mouth as she swallowed.

The blood of the Extinct Dragon gradually dried at the corners of her mouth, disappearing into those pale purple flames.

The Flame Princess Dragon exuded a more dangerous, fierce otherworldliness.

”Whoa...” Lann and Rong Buqiu were both somewhat dumbfounded now.

This was their first time seeing the combination of the Flame King Dragon and the Flame Princess Dragon.

They initially thought the task was just to chase away the Flame King Dragon, but who knew the presence of the Flame King Dragon would attract the Ancient Dragon-hunting Extinct Dragon, and then his wife the Flame Princess Dragon would also show up?

And it seemed... this Flame Princess Dragon looked much fiercer than the Flame King Dragon who was satisfied with eating gunpowder!

Indeed, although the Flame Princess Dragon had just appeared, it was evidently much fiercer than the Flame King Dragon.

The scene where she roasted and consumed half a claw in front of the Extinct Dragon even left the Extinct Dragon a bit dumbstruck.

The cut-off claw of the Extinct Dragon hovered in the air, and at the break, muscles and bones seemed alive, interweaving, pressing, growing towards their original form.

The Flame King Dragon and the Flame Princess Dragon, one red, one blue, stood on one side, equally lowering their bodies, baring their teeth at the Extinct Dragon.

Clearly, if the fight continued, they would definitely attack together.

Even one-on-one battles between Ancient Dragons were hard to determine life or death due to the opponent’s vigorous life force.

But now it’s two against one... especially with a ’madwoman’ involved...

The Extinct Dragon’s savage eyes hesitated for a moment, then suddenly stopped the low growl of hostility in its throat that sounded like an engine.

After all, it wasn’t a Terror Tyrannosaurus, driven mad by its own appetite.

Although its appetite was enormous, it was ultimately a more rational Ancient Dragon.

The Flame King Dragon wasn’t alone at the moment; continuing to fight wouldn’t allow it to eat the Flame King Dragon, and its own flesh might be burned significantly.

It would be a complete loss.

The Ancient Dragons were intelligent, and with a simple thought, the Extinct Dragon overcame its hunting desire.

Its claw, now fully regrown, pressed against the ground, and it gave a final defiant roar, its huge lung capacity showcasing substantive soundwave patterns in the air.

It cautiously took two steps back and finally flapped its wings, flying into the sky.

Lann and Rong Buqiu hid on the side, watching the demon-like Ancient Dragon flying far away, astutely feeling that the Extinct Dragon’s hunting desire now differed from when it targeted them or the Ancient Deer-headed Spirit.

Perhaps because this time its actions stemmed solely from its own appetite, it wasn’t persistent, and if unsuccessful, it just turned to find something else to eat.

In the chaotic scene of the three Ancient Dragons, one finally retreated.

The destructive power and intimidation of Ancient Dragons need no elaboration.

An Ancient Dragon like the Flame King Dragon, during the Ancient Dragon Crossing, merely passing by would necessitate evacuation notices for villages and towns along the way.

On its passing route, it was essentially a sky and mountain covered in flames.

If the three Ancient Dragons fought in the civilized area of the Old Continent, the Hunter’s Guild would be overwhelmed.

Although the Extinct Dragon chose to readily retreat after weighing the pros and cons, the two Sun Flame Dragons...

Only then did the Flame Princess Dragon raise her head, looking at Wende who had stood out earlier to attract attention.

Irritable, quick to anger, fierce... With Wende’s knowledge of monsters, he immediately recognized the Flame Princess Dragon’s current state.

”Unlucky... Is it the mating season?!”

Beneath his helmet, Wende’s mouth twitched.

’Mating season’ is a research term for humans, or somewhat a crude adjective.

But among monsters, this term is like ’breeding season,’ ’nursing period’... it represents danger!

Creatures in special physiological periods behave many times more frenzied and brutal than usual!

Wende had dealt with the Flame King Dragon or Flame Princess Dragon in the Old Continent but only felt they were no different aside from the nature of their flames.

But now this Flame Princess Dragon demonstrated that even Ancient Dragons follow the characteristics of their physiological cycles.

”Roar!”

The Flame Princess Dragon turned her mouth, still stained with the Extinct Dragon’s blood, impatiently low-growling at the Flame King Dragon.

The Flame King Dragon—red-haired, scaly, appearing more imposing—on the surface hesitated, seemingly struggling with something.

But its body acted more straightforwardly...

When growled at by the Flame Princess Dragon, it instinctively retreated two steps, distancing itself from the Flame Princess Dragon.

The Flame Princess Dragon’s nostrils twitched twice in the air, smelling the strong gunpowder scent despite the arena’s upheaval and turned more fiercely towards the Flame King Dragon.

And the Flame King Dragon simply turned its head away, refusing to look at its wife beside it.

Just like a middle-aged man caught by his wife sneaking out to fish.

After being growled at again, the Flame King Dragon simply lowered its head, wings flapping as it flew out of the arena.

And left alone, the Flame Princess Dragon grinned, baring teeth, staring at Wende on the high stand.
