Blood Awakening: The Strongest Hybrid and His Vampire Bride

Chapter 503: What He Left Inside

Meanwhile, on a private flight, a beautiful woman with black hair sat with her back against the wide leather seat, sipping an orange liquid. Behind her, two stewards in black suits cleaned the trays in the plane’s kitchen while looking at the woman who quietly listened to some classical music with a faint smile.

”Don’t you think it’s strange?”

”What is?”

”The madame always drinks wine, but now she only drinks sour and citrus drinks.”

”Eh? You don’t mean!?”

The two women worked for the SSS as Madoka’s personal servants and support. They weren’t skilled in combat compared to their leader, but carried skills like poison testing, detecting invisible targets and served as her bodyguards.

Madoka snapped her gaze towards them and sighed at their gossip.

Although she wanted to scold them and tell them not to gossip about their boss, something inside stopped her. She knew their words weren’t false. In fact, the meal she’d wolfed down proved something was wrong.

’Those who underwent the gene therapy shouldn’t have normal hunger.’

”But, I...”

She held her words and swished the slightly bitter citrus cocktail with a mixture of orange and lemon, something she’d never drink in the past because of the strong, astringent scent and her genes being a mix of a monster similar to the Siberian white tiger.

’That little bastard, really knocked me up in one shot?’

Madoka couldn’t believe it.

Because those who underwent the gene therapy in her generation were all infertile, the doctors said no man’s sperm could fertilise her eggs. The same was true when two people who had the surgery tried.

It was the supposed curse for stepping into the gods’ territory, some of the superstitious members claimed and had the treatment scrapped.

’Well, that’s why we changed the method after learning our mistakes...’

After all, the only thing the humans could do to combat the monsters was their superior breeding ability.

”Monsters were meant to struggle to have children, but from what I’ve looked into, all of his women except a few are already well into their pregnancies.” Madoka whispered while reading the documents she had on the potential father of her child.

With a sigh, she pushed the documents to the side and rubbed her temples.

Madoka tapped the desk while rolling a sharp blade between her fingers, a simple action to train the dexterity of her muscles. ”Why did I sleep with him...” Her plan that night was to take him back and kill him.

Yet, she couldn’t understand why his scent, warmth and even the sound of him breathing made her want to mate. ”Wasn’t I sterile? Or is there something special about him... he did have the powers of a vampire and werewolf.”

[This is your captain speaking.

The expected time of arrival in S-Kingdom is...]

The captain also worked for the SSS, and she was enhanced using a strange tribe of monsters with wings, similar to a harpy, but closer to eagles. Some even had pure white wings like angels.

Madoka’s sharp nails tapped the armrest in slow, deliberate rhythm as the captain’s voice faded back into white noise. Her two attendants exchanged a nervous glance.

They’d served her long enough to know when she was angry.

”Madame?” one finally asked, voice careful. ”Should we prepare the Safehouse once we land?”

Madoka didn’t answer right away. Her golden eyes slid to the window, where clouds bled orange against the lowering sun. ”No. Go to the central branch first. I want a full medical workup... and a gene audit.”

Both women stiffened.

”Y-Yes, Madame.”

Her tail of hair swished as she turned the glass in her hand and took another sip of the citrus drink, face unreadable. Inside, her mind was far from calm.

If the tests confirmed her thoughts... then the SSS would definitely not let it slide. Her child could become a test subject, and those idiots would overturn the premise about the previous hazardous surgery.

Madoka closed her eyes... ’But there’s a chance it’s only that man, only that bastard’s sperm that can knock them up!’ How would she explain that? ’Oh, I just had amazing, violent sex with the young patriarch of a werewolf clan!’

It would end in her death.

And as the child would be a pure blooded monster, they would use it.

’No!’

She suddenly changed her mind.

”Ma’am?” the attendant dared to ask.

”Take us to my private Safehouse in the north. I’ll have to use my private lab.”

Her words became sharp, as faint black and white stripes appeared on her skin, and Madoka’s face turned feral as if she was transforming.

”Y-Yes ma’am!”

The attendants lowered their heads, with one swallowing visibly, and the other quietly sliding a data-slate toward her.

”She’s so angry today.”

The two women scurried away, while Madoka remained stunned. She covered her face with both hands with a sigh. ”I didn’t mean to transform. What the hell is going on with me?”

For a moment, a strange, involuntary warmth flickered through her chest. She crushed it ruthlessly, clenching the glass until the glass cracked.

His face, his touch, his scent, and the feeling of him still lingered inside.

’Why!?’

Madoka glanced at herself in the mirror, with dishevelled hair and a twisted smile. ”If I’m pregnant... some people will want to use the child. Others will want to erase it. I need to know which first.”

The second attendant tapped the datapad, and a large picture of Nikolai Volkov appeared. Her chest thrummed with a thunderous sound as she bit her lip.

”It’s already prepared, Madame. All the dossiers on Volkov, his allies, and current power in S-Kingdom.”

”Wha” about his lovers?”

”Eh?”

”Hmm?” Madoka tilted her hair, confused at the attendant’s reaction.

”Ma’am, is that information that important?”

Madoka flipped the screen open with a single clawed fingertip.

Nikolai’s face stared back: Silver hair, golden eyes, dossier full of redacted history. The urge to sneer was there... but so was the memory of his breath against her throat, the pull of his scent, the way her body had betrayed her mission.

’He seems to like changing his hair colour a lot.’

Some photographs showed him with Silver hair and eyes, other times his hair was black and his eyes red.

”Is it to do with him being a hybrid...?”

Damn you, wolf.

She set the glass aside and leaned back, stretching her legs with feline grace. ”Once we land, call Dr. Shina. Quietly and ensure there’s no paper trail.”

”Yes, Madame.”

The stewardesses retreated to the galley, whispers hushed now, fully aware their boss had shifted into a dangerous mode. The cabin became almost solemn, like an empty church, the quiet hum of engines, the low crackle of the classical music still playing.

Madoka closed her eyes for a moment, hand instinctively lowering to her lower abdomen, stroking circles as she thought about him again.

”Nikolai...”

It happened more than she could remember, yet she couldn’t stop.

”I was supposed to end him,” she whispered to herself, barely audible over the music. ”Instead... I ended up mounting him and might be carrying his seed.”

The words tasted like both defeat and something she couldn’t name. In fact, her words grew more positive, and the smile on her face brightened the longer she thought about Nikolai and the possible future she once lost.

Madoka couldn’t forgive Ivan, but... somehow, after meeting Nikolai, she wondered if his words might carry some truth.

”Also, investigate the great fire during the turn of the Millennium.”

She exhaled slowly, opened her eyes again, and tapped a new message on her private line.

[To: Director SSS HQ

Arriving S-Kingdom in 3h.

Require Level Zero clearance for medical absence.

Suffered an injury while fighting an Elder Class monster of unknown origins.]

With a tap, she emailed the council of directors who stood above even her. She sighed and hoped it wouldn’t take long for them to accept it. She wanted to avoid meeting with anyone from the SSS that she didn’t completely trust until everything was confirmed and she had time to consider the options.

’Of course, I can’t let this chance slip through my fingers...’

A few minutes later, her pad vibrated, and the response came.

[To: Agent Madoka SSS Class

Affirmative

Director Margit.

P.S. Take care of yourself. Don’t make me worry so much, the bureau has been a mess recently, so take care!]

”Eh? I forgot about that old woman.”

The only Director on the council who ensured that they treated female agents fairly, be it pay, training or surgery.

”Well, I should tell her at least once it’s confirmed. That old woman would be happy like it’s her own grandchild.”

Madoka allowed herself one last sip of the sour drink. It no longer tasted unpleasant; somehow, she craved it and not just the drink.

’Damn you, Volkov... you’ve complicated everything!’

She couldn’t contain her desires, and those included fighting and mating with the man who made her like this. As if affected by her genes, her body actively sought Nikolai Volkov out; that’s why she left in a hurry.

With one last look at his picture, she huffed, flicking it with a deep smile.

”Idiot.”
