Gravity Mage with Level-Up System

From MC’s Perspective:

A quick gleam flashed in my eyes as I found some shocking news from the eavesdropping.

“A person went missing. And I didn’t even know about it,” I muttered. Then I realized it must be someone from the Intelligence Tower.

No wonder, Elder Stella assigned a special task to me. They want to get to the bottom of this case. But I don’t know where to start.

Maybe I should wait for some time and come back at midnight. Usually, there will be no activities at midnight. There is a possibility to find the old man at that time.

A few minutes later,

I found an isolated area close to the Main Market.

Swoosh!

Then I Vanished from the spot and appeared in the Gregor Mansion.

Meanwhile,

Inside the Beast Taming Department, Gordon and his friends are disappointed and scared by the result of the council elders’ meeting.

He thought no one would back the nobody from the special mage department. But it turns out that they underestimated the opposite Faction.

Thinking about the power used by Vincent Carey. His eyes flash with fear. He recalls there were no magic spells used. Yet Vincent Carey was able to deflect their attack at that time.

Still, he doesn’t know whether it’s a spell or the power of an artifact. His mind tells him the second thing. Now that their intentions have been exposed, he doubts whether Vincent Carey would be careless next time.

Then he ordered people under him to monitor the 25th dorm building and report him back if Vincent Carey appears.

His other friends, Emy, Don and Issac, were scared as well. Even though Issac didn’t do anything wrong, he was dragged into their group as well.

Shortly afterwards,

Elder Jordan, in his office, was resting. One side of his face was swollen and bruised. He got slapped by Elder Milo earlier. It was a casual slap but it was enough to make him suffer.

“Damn, I didn’t expect things would go this way,” Jordan cursed under his breath. He thought Elder Milo would easily solve this matter. Yet, things have ended like this.

Now, not only has he offended Elder Milo, but elders from other factions as well. It’s all because of those trio. If not for their family background, he would have taken action against them already for this humiliation.

Time passed,

Under Elder Milo’s order, a rumor starts spreading in Verdant City.

[A powerful wizard from the Special Mage Department of the True Elements Society will soon come to Verdant City to catch the culprit]

When the news started to spread. The locals who heard it were all happy. They know if someone from the True Elements Society takes action. The problem will be solved.

The Verdant City’s current City Guards and Investigation Team were all incompetent. They were powerless when it came to cases like this.

At the same time, the people from the Intelligence Tower who were working on this case regarding intelligence collection were shocked as well.

The rumor came out as a surprise. Because they couldn’t trace back the source. It’s hard to find who started the rumor first

When they reported it back to their higher-ups. The person in charge of them was surprised. Because he was one of the elders in the Intelligence Tower.

After knowing the rumor, he couldn’t help but think of a fresher named Vincent Carey. He immediately thought people were targeting him. He doesn’t know whether it’s the work of a killer or not.

So the elder immediately informed Head Stella. She is the Head of the Intelligence Tower.

Stella was in her office inside the Intelligence Tower. She is going through some other reports. But this message from one of the elders caught her attention.

When she finished reading the message. Her eyes flash with a cold glint.

“Someone is targeting the kid by leaking the information,” She figured it out quickly. The rumor didn’t mention the name of the wizard.

But it was enough for the Killer to come out.

“I wanted to use the kid to lure out the killer. But some people want the kid to die at the hands of the killer,” She said to herself.

She can already guess who was behind this malicious rumor. Thinking about the Supreme Wizard Phylia behind Vincent Carey.

Her eyebrows ease down. There is a reason why she decides to help Vincent Carey in the meeting. First, she knows the intentions of the Aristocratic Families.

Even without evidence, she can tell that people from the Aristocratic Families were trying to get rid of the kid.

So she genuinely went to that incident site. She found no mana trace. So she was sure that Vincent was innocent.

Yet right after the meeting, such malicious rumors were spreading in the Verdant City. She then thought of something.

She typed a request and sent it to the Head of the Organisation. She doesn’t want people from other Departments to be lurking in the Verdant City. Including the level-9 Wizards.

She thinks people might use this opportunity to get rid of Vincent Carey.

Time passed in the blink of an eye,

In the middle of the night, the old man Transmutation Wizard walks out of his hideout and enters the street. He has been visiting the Main Market daily at midnight.

He is doing this to collect information. Not long before, he had killed someone under the True Elements Society Wizard. He thinks that people might be coming after him.

When he reached the Main Market. He saw there were more guards than usual. 20 High-level wizards are patrolling around the Main Market.

The old man raised his eyebrows in surprise.

“What happened?” He asked himself. He can see that guards are patrolling seriously if something bad might happen.

He knows that there were 8 City guards last night. They weren’t that tense yesterday. But there were many today. Suddenly, his eyes flash with curiosity. He decides to capture one person to collect intel.

On the other hand, the City Administration had arranged for more people to monitor because of the malicious rumor.
