Genetic Ascension

Chapter 1830: Get Up

The reaction of the members of the Golden Race could be imagined.

Old Brama was dead to them just moments ago, only for him to come back as though nothing had happened.

Funny enough, if Old Brama hadnʼt been dead, this wouldnʼt have been possible. Whatever he had done caused his Will to revert back to a much lower level, and that was what allowed the D-tier Battlefield to be enough to revive him.

But even then, Sylas immediately noticed that Old Brama was just an F-tier now. Not only was he just an F-tier, but if Sylas had had to get the acknowledgment of the C-tier Golden Battlefield first, whatever Will he had had would have long dissipated before Sylas could manage it.

Conquering the Secret Realm of the Golden Race required more than Sylas just showing up. He had to actually understand the D-Grade Runes presented to him. If not for the fact he was an E-Grade Spark Master, that would havebeen impossible.

Even now, his comprehension of D-Grade Runes was pitiful and not even at Breath Mastery just yet. He was only able to rely on his foundational understanding and his experience conquering the E-Grade Golden Battlefield to do it, not to mention cheating a bit with the Legendary Luck Gene.

Because he used the Legendary Luck Gene, he was able to bring the F-tier Golden Battlefield up and trick the D- tier Golden Battlefield into thinking his mastery of the F-tier one translated to his mastery of it.

This ultimately resulted in Sylas clearing the Secret Realm and receiving yet another Dao Seed...

One that he immediately used to complete the transition of the Battlefield into his Hibernation Realm.

That was all to say that Old Brama was... quite lucky. Sylas hadnʼt expected to be saving him now.

Old Brama coughed, his legs wobbling like a deerʼs as he tried to stand but kept slipping. He was lost and confused, and still in his Unitaur form.

It should have been the form he was most comfortable in, but instead it made him feel like he was a stranger in his own body.

ʼI guess this is another side effect. But there is nothing wrong with this body from what I can see. The real problem is that he reverted back to an F-tier.ʼ

But what Sylas could also tell was that Old Brama was no normal F-tier.

ʼHeʼs not quite as perfect as the Golden Races once were, but I suspect thatʼs because only three of the battlefields came together. If I managed to gather the C-, B-, A-, and S-tier Golden Battlefields and used it on Old Brama, he would be as perfect as the Ancestor Unitaurs were.ʼ

Despite all of this, the power Old Brama was radiating even as a Level O was shocking.

He was very nearly a Demi-God, and that was just the three weakest battlefields.

Just how powerful were the members of the Golden Race in their prime?

”Iʼm... alive?”

Old Brama took a very long time before he realized what was going on. In fact, he seemed to struggle even using his mouth to speak properly.

It was only then he noticed Sylas standing over him.

”You saved me?”

”I tested something out,” Sylas said.

Old Bramaʼs pupils trembled. ”You figured out how to use the Secret Realm.”

He didnʼt sound like he was asking a question at all. He was asserting something he was certain of. Old Brama couldnʼt think of anything else that could possibly bring someone back from the dead, though Sylas had never done anything like that.

Old Brama technically wasnʼt dead so long as a piece of his Will was preserved. For a weaker tier, maybe. But for a C-tier, this much was enough to keep him alive.

The shock would have still been as great for Old Brama, especially since he comprehended he was back to Level 0 now, and yet felt more powerful than he ever had.

It was certainly just an illusion. He was definitely stronger as a C-tier. But this feeling wasnʼt entirely vapid... His talent level was on a completely diverse tier now. He was at least as talented as the Mortal Thryskai, and that was a shocking conclusion to come to.

He had instantly become one of the most powerful F-tiers beneath Demi-God.

However, Sylas was thinking about something else.

Despite being reborn with this talent, Old Brama wasnʼt being rejected by this Sector.

The implications of this were enormous. If Sylas used this in the future...

Even if the cost was returning to Level 0, the potential uses were endless.

But he wouldnʼt be the first to use such a method... after all, Cassaraeʼs Castle Main territory had once been infiltrated by a spawn clearly sent by someone.

”Get up.”

Old Brama listened, finally getting his legs to cooperate properly. But after he had, he wasnʼt quite sure what to say. The last time he met Sylas, he was betraying him.

But Sylas didnʼt even seem angry. He was wearing the same expression he always did. Was that the face of someone who had been betrayed?

Old Brama understood that Sylas wasnʼt like normal people a long time ago. But even he didnʼt expect this level of indifference.

”Youʼre still useful to me,” Sylas said calmly. ”Sign this new System Contract.”

Sylas waved a hand and a notification appeared before Old Brama, and the latter could only chuckle.

What was he going to do? He couldnʼt deal with Sylas even as a C-tier, was he suddenly going to gain enough power after reverting back to Level 0?

Old Brama imprinted his new Will onto the contract. This time, he knew he was fully bound to Sylas. He would likely never have a stronger Will than Sylas again.

But at least this way... there was a chance. Sylas had figured out what they couldnʼt about the Golden Battlefield. His current strength proved that.

”Letʼs go. We have things to do,” Sylas said calmly.

”The others...” Old Brama said.

”I canʼt do anything about them yet. If they fall in line, I might.”

For now, Sylas didnʼt care to do much else with the Golden Race. It was time for Earth to appear on the chess board.
