Genetic Ascension

Chapter 1829: The Result

Sylas walked out from the Secret Realm in a mess compared to how he had entered in the first place. His clothing was torn and ruined, blood caking him from head to toe.

And yet those that spotted him immediately took a step back.

The C-tiers of the Golden Grove had thought a lot about what they might try to do the moment Sylas stepped out, but those that had prepared weapons, those meant to attack on sight, found themselves completely frozen in place.

It was like Sylas had formed a noose around their necks with his Will alone. It spilled out into the world with such force that their minds were completely blank.

As an F-tier, Sylas already had Will at an E-tier level. As an E-tier now, his Will was at a D-tier level, the strength of Primus Imperium displaying one of its greatest mights.

The gap between Sylas and the C-tier of the Golden Grove had already not been as enormous as it had once been. Now... it was non-existent.

They realized immediately that the Sylas that had entered, the Sylas who had to use tricks to deal with Old Brama and stop the latter from killing him... Was no longer present.

Yaoyao felt a pit sink into the core of her stomach, while Zayreusʼ grandfather paled considerably. He had been the most certain that he would attack Sylas instantly, and yet when he confirmed his intent to do so, the scent of death drilled into his nostrils, forming hands down his lungs and toward his heart as though puncturing through the walls of his inner organs.

Then it took a solid grip and remained there.

Somehow, the pressure they felt from Sylas now was no less than when the Demi-God of the Thryskai descended.

Sylas completely ignored them, walking toward the pile of blood and guts that was left of Old Brama. The old man didnʼt have the slightest bit of life in him. In fact, he already looked like he was cooling. His blood was running cold, his spirit fading away.

Sylas didnʼt say anything, staring at him for a lengthy while.

He understood why Old Brama did what he did, he just didnʼt really care all that much. If he had to choose between his own interests and that of someone else, the answer to that was all too obvious.

He would probably just tell Cassarae to kill Meagen so they wouldnʼt have to deal with a ticking time bomb on their side. Sylas had taken enough chances on people that could be said to be exactly that.

Alex was one. Old Brama was certainly another. Jala had been one. Germaine was certainly one.

If he expanded that from just people alone, his Madness Key and Scorned Wraps were certainly ticking time bombs, as was practically 99% of the things that made him as powerful as he was now.

The difference was that he didnʼt mind taking a risk if it paid off.

The value of having had a C-tier by his side for so long had definitely been worthwhile.

Sylas didnʼt fear risks. He just didnʼt want to take worthless risks.

It was why he had killed Helena, yet why he hadnʼt killed Alex yet despite having no real need for him anymore.

It was just a shame. He couldnʼt use the Golden Battlefield as is just yet. Having a real member of the Golden Race under his thumb would have made it much easier. But right now, he had the skeleton but none of the substance.

ʼHm?ʼ

Sylas bent down over Old Bramaʼs body. His claws extended.

Chi.

He gripped Bramaʼs chest, tearing through his flesh and bone, balling his fist, and then throwing it away.

The members of the Golden Race looked on in horror, but they couldnʼt do anything even before, let alone now.

ʼMm. Interesting.ʼ

Sylas ripped out a mechanical component from Old Bramaʼs chest. It beeped almost like a pacer, but Sylas saw something else.

Old Bramaʼs Will was in there.

Before he had left, he told Old Brama to do his best to stay alive. But honestly, he hadnʼt really cared whether Old Brama actually succeeded or not.

If Old Brama died, then he would have already done enough to prolong his suffering for as long as possible. As far as Sylas was concerned, that was revenge enough.

If Old Brama managed to survive, then it meant that he was even more useful than Sylas thought.

Somehow, Old Brama had landed right smack dab in the middle of that.

ʼI wonder...ʼ

Sylasʼ eyes narrowed and he tossed the pacer up. It vanished in a pulse of gold.

Within the Hibernation Realm, a churning began to take place.

Sylas had wanted the Golden Battlefield for himself, but it wasnʼt something he could just pluck out and place just anywhere. Luckily... his Legendary City didnʼt have a real territory yet.

The Hibernation Realm wasnʼt a real world. It was just a node pinned to the Beast Heaven. It roamed and didnʼt have any central location.

It was a technicality... but Sylas had learned to live on technicalities these days.

And now, the Golden Battlefield was the territory of Sky Roaming.

The result?

Sylasʼ City Stele had become a Unique Legendary City Stele.

[Legendary City Stele]

[Status: Active]

[Village Name: Sky Roaming]

[Territory Level: Rudimentary Village]

[Territory Diameter: 1000 meters]

[Residents: 0/1000]

[Soldiers: 0/100]

[Popularity: 3/10]

[Subsidiary Village Limit: 2]

[Territory Stats: Variable]

[Special Status: Primus Imperius Bound. Property of Sylas Grimblade]

All of the stats of the village seemed to have plummeted, but Sylas didnʼt see it like that. Instead, it was more accurate to say that the City Stele had been stretched, its abilities deposited in the three layers of the Golden Battlefield Sylas had access to.

The uses of this were endless, but right now, Sylas didnʼt mind that. What he wanted to do was something quite

simple.

The original purpose of the battlefield.

A splurting sound echoed and a naked, much more youthful Old Brama spilled out onto the floor, falling into his own blood and gore in a completely new body.
