Eternal Thief

1391  Wanted in Mortal Ascension Heaven

The news of the mass thefts in Runic Forge City spread like a wildfire across the Great Crown Domain. Even if the authorities wanted to contain it, they couldnʼt because of the sheer number of people involved in this theft, not to mention the fact that they didnʼt belong to the Great Crown Domain.

Furthermore, because the Runic Forge City was like a branch of the Runic King Crown Palace, one of the six pinnacles of powers in the Mortal Ascension Heaven, it was even more attractive, and even the five sects would pay attention to it.

This was nothing like the theft in the second-grade domain of the Artifact Inferno Guardian Sect.

Because of this, the name ʼSky Stealerʼ became a hot topic, and everyone searched for information about him. Soon, the news about his previous ʼventureʼ with the Bank was also revealed. However, other than that, no more clues were found. Sky Stealer was a ghost who came and went as he pleased, and he was certainly not ordinary because he dared to target the Runic King Crown Palace after his success with the mere branch of the Prime Heavenly Wealth King Sect.

In fact, within a few hours, the Runic King Crown Palace released a warrant and a massive bounty on Sky Stealer. The rewards were enough to make even Ascension Lords hunt for the Sky Stealer like mad hounds.

But it wasnʼt just the end with that, right after the warrant of the Runic King Crown Palace, the PHW King Sect also joined the fray, and thatʼs how, Sky Stealer became the first person to be wanted by two of the six top powers of the Mortal Ascension Heaven!

--- After the theft, Runic Forge City was put under a strict curfew, and without any exception, the entire city was combed through for traces of Sky Stealer.

Any suspicious person was detained without mercy, and those who usually behaved wantonly became obedient and kept their heads low while they cursed Sky Stealer for bringing this disaster.

The five members of the Nightfall Ravenhood were dumbfounded when they found out about this, and it greatly affected their plans as well.

Right now, the other members of the Ravenhood are keeping a low profile and being extremely careful to avoid being affected by the storm Sky Stealer has created.

At this moment, only Raven and Raveneye were present in a small shop in the outer region of the Runic Forge City because the inner region was a huge mess.

”Why!? Why did he appear in the Runic Forge City and ruin everything!?” Raven was furious as he looked at Raveneye and seemed to be expecting some kind of explanation.

Raveneye smiled wryly as he shook his head, ”My guess is as good as yours. The sudden appearance of the Sky Stealer was something no one saw coming.” Raven was extremely frustrated and wanted to vent, but there was no target, and he knew that blaming others, especially his crew members, was foolish and extreme.

”But why would that bastard target so many people, and how did he achieve it?!” Raven finally revealed his curiosity.

Although he was indignant and furious, he couldnʼt overlook Sky Stealerʼs methods. After all, despite Ravenʼs arrogance, he knew he couldnʼt pull something like this without getting exposed or leaving behind some traces, yet Sky Stealer had achieved it, and he didnʼt leave behind anything to trace back to him.

”Thatʼs whatʼs strange, actually.” Raveneye seriously stated, as he also secretly admired the Sky Stealerʼs methods, ”If we look at it from a thiefʼs perspective, I think he was targeting someone specific. To hide that specific target, he decided to cause chaos by dragging others into it. Now, with so many victims, no one will be able to tell what his actual target was and use it to find him.”

Ravenʼs eyes shimmered sharply, which was the only explanation that made sense in this situation.

”But what truly made Sky Stealer unique and fearsome is that ʼowlʼ mark he left on his victims. From what the reports state and with my own observation, that mark canʼt be erased no matter what method others use on it. Even cutting off the part of the skin or the entire limb, itʼll always come back once it heals. It wasnʼt just an exaggeration.

”However, strangely enough, other than this peculiarity, the mark seems harmless, and now the Runic King Palace had taken a few people into their core region to examine it further,” Raveneye revealed.

Raven fell into contemplative silence before he sneered, ”Whatever it is, sometimes being extremely eye-catching brings disaster. Now, the Runic King Crown Palace is after him, and even the PHW King Sect has changed their approach after reevaluating his danger. Whatever heʼs planning, it wonʼt be easy to pull something like this again unless his target is not the King Sects.

”Still, because of Sky Stealer, our plans are on the verge of ruination, and we canʼt move against Zaria with all the scrutiny on the Runic Forge City. The Runic King Crown Palace had probably dispatched their elites to the three cities, and they might be waiting for Sky Stealer to make a mistake. But that guy should be long gone by now if heʼs not an idiot, leaving us vulnerable because of the mess he caused!” ”Then are we giving up on Ravenmind and Ravencrown?” Raveneye probed subtly.

Raven glared at him coldly as he retorted, ”If it were only Ravenmind, there wouldnʼt be any problem, but Ravencrown is indispensable for the Ravenhood. Since we canʼt personally move, send a secret message to Jake and tell him that Zaria is imprisoning his precious fiancée.

”Although it might raise some questions and bring some suspicion to Ravencrown, this is the only way to snatch her back from Zaria. Once sheʼs free, sheʼll know what to do.”

Raveneyeʼs eyes flashed with a hint of approval as he quickly nodded, ”We shouldʼve done it sooner, but no worries, Iʼll arrange it.”

Raven nodded, ”Also, tell the others to keep playing their parts; the mission is still salvageable. Once Ravencrown is back, weʼll revise all the plans again. Also, keep an eye out for Sky Stealer; his sudden appearance in this city is too coincidental.”

Raveneye hesitated for a moment before ambiguously asking, ”Do you think heʼs after the same thing we want?”

The light in Ravenʼs eyes jumped furiously, ”Impossible! No one should know about!” Despite his words, there was a hint of uncertainty in his voice as if he had already thought about this possibility.

Raveneye didnʼt ask any more questions and vanished to complete the task, leaving Raven alone. Ravenʼs eyes were filled with uncertainty as he muttered, ”Just what kind of dastard thing is this Heavenʼs Stealer? Once Ravencrown returns, Iʼll force her to tell me where she has hidden the ʼkeyʼ!”
