Eternal Thief

Chapter 1377: Saunter in the City

At this moment, because of the sudden chaos in the Vindictive Ridged Valley, the entire Runic King Crown Palace was on high alert. The personnel of the Runic King Crown Palace locked down the whole valley.

However, despite the parameter, a dark shadow slipped out of the valley in the shade of moonless night, and with terrifying speed, it headed towards the Runic Forge City!

Since Runic Forge City was closest to the Vindictive Ridged Valley, most of the traffic was drawn there, and people of the Runic King Crown Palace, who were in charge of investigating the valleyʼs strange events, also went through there.

Furthermore, the atmosphere within the city was very tense, as only top clans in the Great Crown Domain could live there. They had already gotten some news through their channels, and they were all on high alert and vigilant.

The entrance gates of Runic Forge City were fortified further, and all the formations were activated, as not even a flea could enter the city without undergoing a deep search and identity check.

One of the many guards looked at the formation plate in his hand. There lay a token, and all the information was released.

With a hint of surprise, the guard looked at the young man in front of him, the owner of the identity token. His expression was solemn. ”Youʼre an attendant of Eleanor Sun, a Kingʼs Anvil Disciple?”

With a respectful look, the young man nodded, ”Yes, sir. I went outside to run an errand for my mistress, and only when I was close to the city did I notice something strange was going on. Is everything okay?” He seemed anxious and timid.

The guard found nothing strange about the young man, and his token was real, and the formation didnʼt pick up anything strange.

He gave the young man his token back and coldly said, ”You can go in and, if you want my advice, quickly find your master. If the Palace Guards picked you up for some suspicion, even your master wonʼt be able to save you.”

The young manʼs face paled as he quickly took the token from the guard with trembling hands and thanked him before he hurried inside, clearly intending to heed the guardʼs advice.

However, when the young man was far away from the city gate, the timid and anxious look on the young manʼs or Aceʼs face instantly vanished, and he appeared extremely calm.

ʼTsk, tsk, hiding the Heavenly Punishment is becoming more and more troublesome. I should probably find a more secluded location in the future, or if every time I alert a power like Runic King Crown Palace when I break through, I might suffer a calamity eventually!ʼ Ace smiled wryly as he already knew the source of this huge misunderstanding.

Nonetheless, he didnʼt care as long as they didnʼt connect it to him. He knew there was no way in hell they would suspect an ʼattendantʼ with the mysterious ʼHalf-Kingʼ. No Half-King would be bored enough to play an attendant.

Still, Ace got the gist of how terrifying his last heavenly punishment was. Although most of the information was rumors, over 95% suspected it to be a Late-Stage Heavenly Tribulation!

ʼWell, that punishment was strengthened because of the Star Encompassing Fruit. I wonʼt summon the Magister of Destruction next time. I hope so…ʼ Ace still felt a chill in his spine just thinking about his battle with the avatar of Magister of Destruction.

Although he got many things from that battle, he still didnʼt want to experience that situation if he could avoid it. As for why he came back to the Runic Forge City…

”Alright, the coast is clear. Just donʼt cause trouble.” Ace gave a stern warning, and the next moment, two human women with ordinary features appeared beside him.

”Oh? Itʼs nice to inhale Heavenʼs spirit Qi; itʼs warm! ” the woman in a black dress and black hair exclaimed as she hooked her hand with Ace. It was Eva in disguise.

The second woman in a white dress and silver hair glared at Eva, who was Alina, also wearing a disguise. She hooked her arm with Aceʼs other free hand and retorted, ”Hmph, how about sending her away? Sheʼll blow our cover!”

”How about you take a hike somewhere else and let me and my hubby have a tranquil walk?” Eva wasnʼt going to lose either.

”Alright, if you two donʼt stop, Iʼll send you both back!” Ace sternly warned.

”Hmph!

”Tsk!”

Ace smiled bitterly as he found himself in this situation because of the little brat Leah. Although Leah innocently offended both of these iron ladies, Ace was the one who had to placate them.

The only method Ace could think of was to take them sightseeing in Runic Forge City, and only then would the ʼhouse warʼ stop. Furthermore, Ace was speechless when he saw them behave as if nothing had happened, and he felt he had fallen into a trap.

Nonetheless, he was also happy to spend some more time with them like this since it had been a long time since he had taken a walk like this with Eva or Alina.

However, the situation of Runic Forge City wasnʼt optimal, so he gave them Star Slips to make them aware of it.

Furthermore, Zaria hadnʼt returned either, and she told him that she was only going to close the shop. So, Ace wanted to see what that thuggish woman was up to, and he also wanted to have her teach Leah not to use those words with at least the House Members, or sheʼll suffer, and so will he!

Afterward, both women, despite their differences, became obedient as they dragged Ace along the bustling city streets.

Although the atmosphere was tense, Runic Forge Cityʼs activities seemed to have grown instead of declining, and many businesses seemed to be booming. After all, Runic Forge City was a commercial city, so higher traffic means more business!

As Ace made his way towards the inner city, he activated the Fate Map just in case some hostile personnel approached him, so he could easily avoid them.

But Ace hadnʼt expected Zaria to call him at this moment, and he thought she wanted him to summon her back.

However, since Eva and Alina were enjoying themselves, he didnʼt want to ruin the atmosphere, so he picked up the call to tell her to wait in the shop, and heʼd pick her up from there personally.

But when he accepted the call, he heard Zariaʼs grave voice, ”Quickly come to the shop! I canʼt teleport, I have extra ʼbaggageʼ!”
