Eternal Thief

Chapter 1386: Bad Faith

Ravencrown answered Aceʼs question with a hint of intricacy, ”It was in the legacy we acquired. The owner of the legacy left a message for those who might stumble upon it if theyʼre not the Heavenʼs Stealer.

”In the message, the owner expressed that the ʼOwlʼ is the hallmark of Heavenʼs Stealer, and itʼll only appear in the place of theft, and on victims of Heavenʼs Stealer. Furthermore, there was even an image of the ʼOwlʼ etched in the second-level entrance, which almost matched yours.

Lastly, the owner also specifically requested to be informed about this legacy to Heavenʼs Stealer if the inheritor found any trace of it or simply kept passing the legacy among our descendants until Heavenʼs Stealer emerged.

”Thatʼs why we also designed our hallmark, the ʼWhite Ravenʼ, like the Owl we saw in the legacy grounds. Weʼve been hoping to draw Heavenʼs Stealerʼs attention, but thousands of years passed, and thereʼs no clue.

”We even started thinking it was just a trick of the legacy owner until you suddenly showed up. Thatʼs why we were searching for you.”

ʼIt has to be a Heavenʼs Stealer or someone who knew Heavenʼs Stealer quite well, like Malservus…ʼ Ace thought as this was becoming quite complex.

Still, he had already learned what he wanted from Ravencrown and finally understood why the Nightfall Ravenhood was searching for him.

At this moment, Eva suddenly said with a sharp look in her eyes, ”I guess you guys were quite lucky to get such a legacy. But you were still greedy about the rest of it, right?”

Ravencrown narrowed her eyes as she looked at the ʼordinary humanʼ woman, ”What do you mean?”

”Heh, donʼt pretend to be ignorant. You werenʼt searching for Heavenʼs Stealer out of the kindness of your heart or to fulfill the legacy ownerʼs wish. You were searching for Heavenʼs Stealer because you wanted to use him to get the rest of the legacy.

”After all, just with the first level, you guys managed to achieve so many things, so I wonʼt be surprised if you want the rest of it for yourself. Why would you let an unknown person get your lucky opportunity? Because I wouldʼve done the same.” Eva smiled coldly as she exposed the Nightfall Ravenhoodʼs real intentions.

Ace also didnʼt seem surprised because he had reached the same conclusion as Eva and looked at Ravencrown, who were flurried.

Ravencrown knew her usual trickery wonʼt work with Ace and his group. She bit her lips and said, ”It doesnʼt matter now, does it? Iʼve already told you everything and revealed the secret of the legacy ground. Now, as long as you let me go, Iʼll have Raven deliver you the map and the key to this secret realm.

”We never keep our most important treasures with us because we are already in danger whenever we are on a mission. Not even the members of Nightfall Ravenhood know about this hidden location.”

Ace narrowed his eyes. He didnʼt detect any lies in Ravencrownʼs words, but he didnʼt seem anxious at all, which was out of Ravencrownʼs expectation.

”You know if it was someone else, they mightʼve gone for it. But you have no idea who I am and what Iʼm capable of. You have underestimated me, the Heavenʼs Stealer.” Ace coldly stated.

”So, youʼre admitting it now!” Ravencrown glared at Ace as she argued, ”I know we have offended you, but we have not harmed you. Working with us only brings you benefits. Why are you insisting on going against us?”

Ace shook his head. ”First, itʼs not about offending or harming me. Itʼs about winning and losing. Since we are all thieves, there is either a win or a loss for us; there is no third option.

”If I had lost, I would be in an even more miserable state than yours, and Iʼm pretty sure you guys are quite ruthless, even to your own. However, I also respect that, and I know itʼs not my place to point fingers.

”However, Iʼm the one who is in the winner position right now, and I could quickly dispose of you both, but Iʼm willing to give you a chance to join me. As for working with the Nightfall Ravenhood, I wonʼt trust others with the lives of my house members.

”So, just like before, youʼll be our ʼguestʼ until you officially join my Thief House. Furthermore, Iʼll show you what a Heavenʼs Stealer is capable of, and once you learn about me, youʼll be begging me to let you in and lead me to that legacy.”

Ravencrown was speechless by Aceʼs overconfidence and unreasonable behavior. Although she was ready for Aceʼs rejection, he surpassed her expectations and left her wondering about the source of his confidence and what exactly Heavenʼs Stealer was capable of.

On the other hand, Eleanor, who had been silently listening all this time, finally seemed to have regained her composure, especially after she heard Ravencrownʼs confession and the secret of the Nightfall Ravenhood.

”Iʼll join you!” She declared decisively, which was completely unexpected, and everyone looked at her.

”What are you doing?!” Ravencrown almost clawed Eleanorʼs face. She was so frustrated she could die because half of this was Eleanorʼs fault, and now she had suddenly betrayed her in this perilous situation!

Eleanor glared at Ravencrown and coldly retorted, ”Iʼm just switching sides to survive!”

”What if theyʼre lying and use you as cannon fodder!” Ravencrown murderously glared at Eleanor.

”Like you wouldnʼt?” Eleanor scoffed with disdain, ”You and Raven had too many secrets, and sometimes you wonʼt even tell us the entire task and just give us instructions. Then we have no actual say in the mission, or decide to take part in it or not. So, even if I switch sides, itʼll be the same, so I donʼt care anymore!”

Ace, Eva, Alina, and even Zaria were startled by Eleanorʼs sudden disloyalty, and she seemed filled with grievance against the Nightfall Ravenhood.

Zaria pursed her lips as she looked at Eleanor and said, ”If you think you could use deceit to trick us into letting you go, youʼre thoroughly mistaken. Once you choose to become my Thief Acolyte, there is no leaving the Thief House!”

Eleanor glared at Zaria begrudgingly, ”Who said anything about becoming ʼyoursʼ acolyte or whatnot!”

She then looked at Ace and demanded, ”Iʼm willing to work for you or anyone else under you, but I wonʼt agree to work for this overly boorish woman. I would rather commit suicide after screwing her!”

Silence reigned in the Thiefʼs Space as everyone looked at Zaria, whose eyes were wide open before thick veins protruded over her temple. She murderously glared at Eleanor.

”You harlotry swine youʼre fucking done!”
