The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order

Chapter 2437: Royal Blutlinie assassin

The moment the sphere of white flames struck the ground, it burst.

A silent wave expanded outward in every direction.

All defensive formations and protective seals surrounding the city were neutralized instantly. They did not shatter or collapse—there was simply no resistance left within them. The power of Quietus did not destroy.

It stopped.

There was no explosion. No screams. No visible devastation.

Every Blutlinie—and everything else within the city—was frozen.

Bodies halted mid-movement. Weapons hung motionless in the air. Even dust and drifting embers were suspended in absolute stillness.

No one escaped.

Those who might have possessed the power to flee the advancing white flames had already been present at the battlefield above the Ocean of the Blood Sun.

Cain’s eyes were calm as he hovered above the silent city.

He had just condemned an entire population.

He had always been merciless, but there had been limits—especially when it came to civilians and children. Fortunately, such concerns did not apply to the Butlinie race.

Not a single one of them lived without killing and consuming others whenever the opportunity arose. Their reproduction was nothing like that of humans. Their gestation resembled that of predators in their most brutal form. They were born fully grown, and many devoured their siblings in the womb like sharks.

There was no innocence here.

Once the Quietus Force had frozen the entire city, Cain released his soul power.

Threads of consciousness spread outward, linking to every immobilized Blutlinie. One by one, he drew them into his spatial treasures.

The process was efficient and methodical.

Within minutes, he had collected hundreds of millions of Blutlinie.

Of course, even if he refined all their Ancestor Drops, their combined value would barely equal that of a single Royal Blutlinie at the Alpha–Omega Overgod level.

But quantity still mattered.

Every fragment of power would contribute to his growth.

When he finished, Cain turned his gaze toward the Ocean of the Blood Sun.

However, instead of returning immediately, he changed direction.

His destination was the capital of the Kalous Kingdom.

The atmosphere within the Kalous capital was tense.

Unlike the ignorant stillness of Aztorus before its fall, the Blutlinie here understood the situation. Their kingdom had entered a decisive war against an enemy stronger than themselves.

If the Aztorus Kingdom fell, their fate would be the same.

Yet even under such pressure, their nature did not change.

The Blutlinie continued their slaughter, killing and devouring one another to grow stronger. In fact, the tension only accelerated the violence. Warriors fought desperately, hoping to gain enough power to escape if disaster struck.

Cain showed no favoritism.

His actions were just as ruthless.

He infiltrated the royal castle, located the Sacred Vault of the Kalous Royal Family, and stripped it clean of anything valuable.

Then, once again, he raised his hand.

A second moon of white flame descended.

The city fell into silence.

Life froze.

And within minutes, Cain collected the entire population.

A wide smile appeared on the Scarlet King’s face as he assessed his gains.

”After refining the Ancestor Drops of all those I captured,” he thought, ”I should be able to push my cultivation close to the limit of the Early Alpha–Omega Overgod.”

His fists clenched as excitement surged through him.

According to his calculations, he would need to reach at least the Late Alpha–Omega Overgod level to have even a small chance of swimming upstream through the Flow.

Every advancement mattered.

And the benefits did not end there.

”Their souls will allow me to progress rapidly in the Omen of Time and their life force will also be ideal for cultivating the Savitar Technique.”

Satisfied, Cain wasted no time.

He turned and flew toward the Ocean of the Blood Sun, his figure streaking across the sky like a shooting star.

It did not take long before the Scarlet King arrived.

He stopped high above the vast crimson waters and looked down.

A smile appeared on his face.

Aquatic creatures continued to emerge from the blood ocean, hunting Omen Beasts and dragging their corpses back into its depths. The entire ecosystem was growing stronger and more efficient.

The Ocean of the Blood Sun was more effective than any fortress he could have built.

It was a stronghold that grew with him.

Cain remained suspended in the sky, his posture relaxed as he reflected on how much he had grown in the few short years since arriving in Paradise.

Then—

”ZNNN!”

Without warning, a spear pierced through his back and emerged from his chest.

The attacker stood behind him—a Royal Blutlinie warrior with a wide, sadistic grin. His entire body burned with golden flames.

The power of those flames was terrifying.

The moment they manifested, the surrounding air ignited, and the sky above the Ocean of the Blood Sun seemed to burn.

It was an astonishing display of strength.

Yet the attacker’s smile froze.

The figure he had pierced began to fade.

It was nothing more than an afterimage.

”How!?” Shock filled his eyes.

There was no time to understand.

In the very next instant, a man with scarlet eyes appeared behind him.

Cain swung the Blade of the End of Times with full power.

A torrent of white flames erupted, engulfing the Royal Bloodline warrior and blasting him across the sky like a blazing comet.

Cain’s expression was cold and filled with killing intent.

The moment he had arrived at the Ocean of the Blood Sun, he had sensed an ominous presence. However, the enemy had concealed himself too well.

Unable to locate him directly, Cain had chosen to draw him out by lowering his guard.

At the final moment, he used the Quietus Power to leave a frozen copy of himself behind.

The plan had worked.

But it had been dangerous.

If he had reacted even a second later, that spear might have truly pierced his body.

”BOOM!”

An explosion echoed above the blood ocean.

The Royal Blutlinie assassin burst free from the white flames, golden fire erupting around him as it burned away the Quietus Force that had invaded his body.
