The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order

Chapter 2426: Soul Sundering Technique

The battlefield froze for a single, breathless moment as the blinding light swallowed both kings.

When the radiance began to fade, the Kalous King emerged first. His body bore scorched patches of burned flesh, and his scales were cracked and blackened, but the damage was shallow. He had not been the true target of the attack.

Then, rising from the dissipating blast, came the Aztorus King.

His condition was far worse.

Half of Eonar’s face had been calcined into lifeless gray stone, the flesh burned away so thoroughly that fragments crumbled with every movement. His left arm was gone entirely—reduced to a jagged stump of fused bone and ash. Even his regal armor had melted into his body, warped beyond recognition.

Yet despite those horrific wounds, Eonar did not hesitate.

The instant he regained balance, he swung the Blade of the End of Times with everything he had left.

Two massive arcs of condensed temporal energy tore through the air, slashing straight toward the metallic cubes. The artifacts had already expended the vast majority of their power in the previous attack. Their runes flickered weakly, unable to form a proper defense.

They were cut apart instantly.

Fragments of twisted metal and shattered runes rained into the Ocean of the Blood Sun.

Only then did Eonar lower his weapon.

His gaze did not fall upon Lortar.

Instead, it shifted downward—to the vast crimson ocean below.

”Useless trash,” he growled, rage boiling beneath his controlled exterior. ”If you had endured one second longer, this battle would have been over.”

He swallowed that fury.

There would be time to deal with the Ocean of the Blood Sun later.

First, Lortar would die.

Ignoring the agony screaming through his shattered body, Eonar surged forward. His remaining arm tightened around the sword, his killing intent sharpening to a lethal edge.

Lortar was badly wounded as well. Blood streamed from the crossed gashes in his chest, and his breathing was heavy. But when he noticed that Eonar could no longer use his left arm, a spark of savage hope ignited in his eyes.

The battle will within him roared back to life.

There was still a chance.

The two kings collided once more, their clash unleashing waves of destruction that rippled across the sky. Despite their exhaustion and grievous injuries, each strike carried terrifying force, their determination burning brighter than reason.

Across the battlefield, the war between the Royal Blutlinie had reached its final stage.

Wounds riddled both sides, blood and shattered flesh raining endlessly into the ocean below. Yet the advantage clearly favored the Aztorus Kingdom. Their numerical superiority, combined with the vitality and energy flowing from the Ocean of the Blood Sun, allowed them to press their enemies relentlessly.

Cain observed everything.

Not a single movement escaped his perception.

”It’s only a matter of time,” he thought coldly. ”At this intensity, none of them will retain an intact soul. Their Ancestor Drops will be wounded by the time they fall into the ocean. It is time.”

Determination hardened within the Scarlet King.

His consciousness expanded outward, connecting with every golden orb he had forged over the past year—artifacts created from the souls of countless Blutlinie and Omen Beasts he had slaughtered and refined.

The warriors of both kingdoms were too consumed by battle to notice.

But without warning, their instincts screamed.

An overwhelming sense of danger exploded in their minds, so intense that it forced even Alpha–Omega Overgods to recoil. Combatants instinctively pulled away from their opponents, widening the distance between themselves as they looked downward.

What they saw made their blood run cold.

Golden orbs glowed across the Ocean of the Blood Sun.

They formed rings.

The first ring contained three orbs.

The second held nine.

The third, twenty-seven.

Each successive ring expanded by a factor of three.

The final ring—

—contained 19,683 golden spheres.

Confusion spread across the battlefield. Warriors from both the Kalous Kingdom and the Aztorus Kingdom stared in disbelief, unable to comprehend what they were witnessing.

All except one.

Eonar recognized the pattern instantly.

His eyes widened.

”Impossible,” he thought. ”We only granted him the knowledge to forge the first three rings. How could he complete the Soul Sundering Technique?”

Shock rippled through him—but he crushed it instantly.

Raising his sword, Eonar prepared to strike the Ocean of the Blood Sun with everything he had left.

He was too late.

His shattered body betrayed him.

Before he could move, every single golden sphere detonated simultaneously.

A titanic surge of soul force erupted outward. The explosions linked together, orb to orb, ring to ring, weaving themselves into a colossal golden-and-blue spiderweb that spread across the entire ocean.

The Soul Sundering Technique fully activated.

A devastating wave of soul power surged upward, piercing the sky and slamming into the minds and spirits of every Blutlinie within the Ocean of the Blood Sun.

Screams erupted from the Royal Blutlinie.

Not screams of pain—

—but of annihilation.

Their minds felt as though they were being torn apart thread by thread. Thoughts shattered. Memories fractured. The agony was so absolute that coherent thought became impossible.

As for the hundreds of thousands of normal Blutlinie—

They never even screamed.

The soul pressure crushed them instantly, rendering them unconscious before they could react. Their bodies fell like rain into the blood ocean below.

The technique fed on them.

Souls were devoured, amplifying the Soul Sundering Technique further. Bodies and Ancestor Drops were seized by the ocean, refined, and sent directly into the cocoon that housed Cain’s new body.

Power surged.

Evolution accelerated.

Eonar and Lortar clenched their teeth, their souls powerful enough to resist total collapse—but even they staggered under the assault.

They locked eyes.

Understanding passed between them instantly.

Their war had been hijacked.

The Blood King had never intended to support one side.

He intended to consume them all.

Hatred still burned between the two kings—but for the first time, they performed a solemn nod to one another.

Turning in unison toward the Ocean of the Blood Sun, their weapons ignited with killing intent.

The animosity between the Aztorus Kingdom and the Kalous Kingdom would not end today.

But first—

They would destroy the being who dared to turn them into prey.
