Rebirth: The Courtyard Bride Is Cool and Radiant

Chapter 786: Chapter 786: Return Journey

Their side finished tidying up, and the kitchen had the meals prepared as well.

Huo Jingrui looked at his brother-in-law beside him: ”Big brother, go call Yi’er and the others to get ready for dinner.”

Ye Wenhui finished his task at hand and brought some dishes to the living room.

As he came over, laughter resonated from Yunyi’s room: ”Mom, Auntie Jiang, it’s time to eat.”

Xia Dongxue heard her eldest son’s voice: ”Alright, we’re coming.”

When they arrived, Ye Bingyu and Huo Shanhe had just sat down, and the others were putting dishes onto the table.

Xia Dongxue glanced at her watch and then looked at Ye Wenze by the door and asked: ”Wenze, didn’t Wenhui say she’d come by today?”

Ye Wenze was also a bit anxious: ”That’s what she said yesterday. She mentioned that the Agricultural Reclamation Group had a truck coming this way, and she managed to hitch a ride on a delivery truck.”

Xia Dongxue turned to her second son: ”Wenhao, you and Wenze.....”

She was just about to suggest they pick up Wenhui when she heard Ye Wenhui’s voice at the gate: ”Oh no, I’m not too late, am I?”

In the yard, Huo Jingrui saw her come in: ”Right on time, the food just hit the table.”

Just then, Ye Wenze also came out: ”Why this late?”

Ye Wenhui complained: ”I set off early in the morning, but bad luck struck today. The vehicle broke down halfway, and the driver couldn’t find out why... we had to wait until another car came by to help repair it.”

Xia Dongxue saw Ye Wenhui enter the house and stood up: ”Wenhui.”

Seeing her aunt’s expression, Ye Wenhui knew what the question would be and explained the situation immediately.

Xia Dongxue smiled and invited her to sit down: ”As long as you’re okay. Seeing you were late, we were just about to have your brothers go pick you up.”

With everyone present, Huo Jingrui invited everyone to take a seat.

After all, they needed to head back after dinner, and since winter’s evening comes early, it’s better to leave sooner.

Initially, he thought about having them leave tomorrow, but the travel would take about a day and a half. Even if they left in the morning, they’d need a place to stay overnight, so might as well not wait until tomorrow.

Throughout the meal, everyone enjoyed a joyous atmosphere.

After eating, everyone thought of helping to tidy up before leaving, but Yunyi insisted otherwise.

Brother-in-law Lu Fuchang and Huo Family’s second brother Huo Qianjin caught a bus to the city and then took a train for business in Inner Mongolia.

Except for Ye Wenhui, everyone else fit perfectly into the two jeeps.

Besides seating space, the cars were packed with things prepared by Yunyi and the others, including skincare creams, honey, preserved fruits, various mountain goods, and smoked meats, filling the cars to the brim.

Xia Dongxue and Jiang Jingya were full of reluctance, constantly urging them to return to Beijing early.

Huo Jiayuan hugged Yunyi: ”Fourth Sister-in-law, I’ll wait for you in Beijing.”

Yunyi gently patted her: ”When you get back, don’t neglect your studies.”

Huo Jiayuan replied softly with an ’Mm’ before reluctantly getting into the car: ”Fourth Brother, take care of Fourth Sister-in-law.”

Huo Jingrui nodded at him: ”Just take care of yourself, no need to worry about that.”

Huo Jiayuan retorted with a defiant ’hmph’: ”Fourth Sister-in-law, I’m leaving, remember to think of me.”

Yunyi laughed and patted her: ”When you get back, don’t neglect your studies.”

Watching the car go into the distance, Huo Jingrui
