Rebirth: The Courtyard Bride Is Cool and Radiant

Chapter 769: Chapter 769: Don’t Hold Out False Hope

Ye Wenhui poured a sauce of dried tomatoes and eggplants: ”Yunyi, I never thought that eggplants and tomatoes pairing could be so delicious, plus the meat you stewed, it really makes one unable to stop, I’m already quite full.”

Ye Wenze echoed: ”This flavored sauce, I really am tasting it for the first time, and the taste is indeed nice.”

Seeing that they enjoyed the dish, Yunyi laughed: ”I’ll head out in a bit to see if I can buy some more meat, and stew some for you to take back home.”

Ye Wenze quickly waved his hand: ”No, you should just rest well and prepare to be a beautiful bride.”

Yunyi smiled at them: ”I’ll direct, you can do it yourselves, anyway you have no plans for the afternoon.”

Ye Wenze glanced over at Ye Wenhui and Ye Wenhao sitting on the other side.

Ye Wenhui and the others indeed liked this stewed meat: ”Then I’ll head out in the afternoon, if I can buy some meat, then let Yunyi direct us and we’ll stew it ourselves.”

After the meal, Ye Wenhui and the others tidied up and went outside together, planning to try their luck to see if they could buy some meat.

Meanwhile, Xia Dongxue and Ye Wenhui helped Yunyi organize the dowry to be taken over tomorrow.

Ye Wenhui looked at the things Yunyi prepared: ”I never thought, as the older sister I’m still not married, yet you, the younger sister who just came home, are getting married first.”

As she spoke, her heart felt reluctant, though Yunyi hadn’t been home for long, she really liked her younger sister.

Yunyi worried that these words might affect her mother’s mood, so she changed the topic: ”When are you and Zheng Xuewen planning to get married?”

Upon hearing the question, Ye Wenhui glanced sideways at her aunt Xia Dongxue before saying: ”He wrote a letter to inform his family, they replied saying to discuss it when they return home for the New Year.”

Yunyi observed her expression: ”What did Zheng Xuewen say?”

Ye Wenhui smiled: ”He said we should go back together for the New Year, then it would be a good time to officially visit my parents, as for his family’s matter, that’s his issue.”

Ye Wenhui is not one to take a loss, she already thought it through, if Zheng Xuewen’s mother disapproves, she certainly wouldn’t push it, after all, she’s not someone who can’t find a match, there’s no need to offer herself up for a hard time.

Xia Dongxue understood: ”No matter how good a man treats you, if the family issues aren’t resolved, marrying into it means suffering, don’t wishfully think as long as the husband supports you that it’s enough, that’s to harm yourself.”

Yunyi didn’t expect her mother to have such forward thinking views, and couldn’t help but give her mental applause.

The group outside had fairly good luck, although unable to buy much meat, they got two sets of liver and heart, and quite a bit of ribs.

Ye Wenze asked as soon as he entered: ”Yiyi, can ribs be stewed?”

Yunyi laughed: ”Of course, I also have quite a few eggs, we can boil and stew them together for you.”

Ye Wenze felt a bit embarrassed: ”No need, with all this it’s enough for us to eat on the way, later if we want to eat we can stew it ourselves.”

Yunyi didn’t continue the topic, instead stood up to direct them to prepare, and began stewing.

The aroma of this stewed meat was truly overpowering, making quite a few kids in the building cry with hunger, hearing the commotion inside, they even felt guilty staying in the room.

The reason why this didn’t happen before was because Yunyi’s previous stewing was done in the space, even the prior pot of stewed meat was stewed in the space and taken out to the balcony beforehand.
