Rebirth: The Courtyard Bride Is Cool and Radiant

Chapter 781: Chapter 781: Urged to Have a Baby

Yesterday he wanted to call, but Grandpa stopped him, telling him that since it was Teacher Aunt’s happy day, she’d be busy entertaining guests, and that it would be better to call the next day to send his wishes. He’d already asked at least ten times this morning.

Yuan Yuxun glanced at his wristwatch: ”Alright, go ahead and dial the number yourself. Do you know what you’re going to say?”

Yuan Zining finally felt happy, climbed onto the chair, and picked up the phone, dialing the number with a sense of seriousness. When someone on the other end started talking, he said, ”Could you please connect me to Zeyang County Machinery Factory in Ji City, extension XXXX.”

After waiting for a while, the call was finally successfully transferred.

Just as Yunyi stepped out of the yard, she heard the phone ringing in the living room and quickly walked inside: ”Hello, who is this looking for?”

Yuan Zining, upon hearing Yunyi’s voice, was full of excitement: ”Teacher Aunt, congratulations on your marriage. I miss you.”

As soon as Yunyi heard it was Yuan Zining: ”Thank you, Zining. Teacher Aunt misses you too. I’ll come back to see you at the end of the year.”

Yuan Zining glanced at the calendar beside him: ”Teacher Aunt, but it’s still a long time until the end of the year. I miss you. Grandpa is busy every day and hardly has time for me. Every day I’m either in meetings with him or on the way to a meeting.”

Yunyi thought for a while: ”Since Grandpa is so busy, do you want to come back to Ji City and stay with Teacher Aunt for a while?”

Hearing Yunyi’s words, he looked over at Grandpa sitting opposite him. Thinking of what Grandpa said earlier, he said after a long pause: ”Maybe not. Going back and forth is quite troublesome, and besides, I want Teacher Aunt to give me a little brother or sister soon.”

All her life’s experiences made her blush when urged by a six-year-old to have children: ”Who told you that? Didn’t Teacher Aunt tell you to keep up with your reading when you go back, and not slack off.”

Hearing this, Yuan Zining got excited: ”Teacher Aunt, I haven’t slacked off. None of the kids in the alley knows as many characters as I do. If you don’t believe me, ask Grandpa, he can vouch for me.”

Hearing his tone, Yunyi knew this little guy was feeling proud: ”Even though you know the most characters, we still shouldn’t be arrogant. Do you remember the sentence I told you before?”

Yuan Zining responded emphatically: ”I remember, pride leads to setbacks. Teacher Aunt, I’m not being arrogant. Every day, I consistently learn three to five characters as you instructed, never missing a day. If you don’t believe it, ask Grandpa.”

A smile appeared on Yunyi’s lips: ”Of course I believe in Zining. I knitted a sweater and pants for you; Grandpa’s sweater is done, the pants are just missing a little. In at most three days, I’ll send them to you. Remember to check for them.”

Hearing that Teacher Aunt had knitted him a new sweater and pants, Zining was full of excitement: ”Thank you, Teacher Aunt, you’re the best.”

It’s this feeling of being cared for that he wanted. He didn’t have parents, but he had Grandpa and Teacher Aunt. He wanted the kids in the alley to know that someone was caring for him, that Teacher Aunt cared about him from afar.

Yunyi could sense his happiness and naturally understood his feelings, causing her nose to tingle with emotion: ”Teacher Aunt will send you some of my own sun-dried fruit later. Remember to share some with your little friends.”

Yuan Zining was even happier now: ”Sure, Teacher Aunt, I’ve noted it.”

Yuan Yuxun saw that they had almost finished talking, and pointed at his watch to remind him that it was getting late.

Yuan Zining reluctantly said to Yunyi: ”Teacher Aunt, we should be leaving soon. Let Grandpa say a few words to you.”
