Beast Taming: the More the Better

Chapter 220: Chapter 145: Ribbon-Cutting Invitation, Su Ping’s Connections?

”What? Your sister is very close to a young guy?”

The man’s voice on the other end of the phone showed shock for the first time.

But it quickly returned to calm. ”That’s great! If Xiao Yun has that intention and can find a place to belong, that’s good for her too! I sent you to Tianyun to learn management experience from your sister, not to gossip about everything under the sun.”

”Heh, Dad, it seems it’s not about her finding a place to belong. That young guy seems to be kept by my sister! And she treats him really well!” Dong Mutian hinted meaningfully.

The voice from the other end fell silent again, somewhat helplessly. He had seen the sibling rivalry but was powerless to intervene, especially since his elder son had not lived up to expectations. The Dong Family had exerted a lot of effort to keep him in the Legion, but he hadn’t made a name for himself and, worse, had been ousted for a minor infraction. Now, he could understand his daughter’s feelings.

However, the business of the Dong Family was important, so he proceeded to ask, ”What happened?”

”Previously, Dong Muyun, under the name of Tianyun Real Estate Company, leased a large plot of land around that young guy and built a bunch of resort-style combat bases. Then, more than a month ago, she gave it all to the young fellow, free of charge, seemingly not earning a penny from him. Of course, whether she got anything else in exchange, who knows...

Also, the other day, she directed a batch of Water Element barriers intended for my real estate project at Crescent Lake from Tianyun Material Company to that same guy. She used the lowest price and even wrote an IOU, essentially getting them for nothing.”

”Dad, isn’t my sister harming the interests of our Dong Family and Tianyun Group by spoiling her little lover?”

”...”

There was silence on the other end of the phone once more, which lasted a long while before he responded, ”It’s normal for your sister to be resentful because of your arrival. Whatever the case, true or false, you shouldn’t pursue these matters any further, and the family won’t either.

However, in the following period, I’ll have Dong San accompany you. If Yun’er keeps acting like this, I’ll have Dong San remind her at the appropriate time.”

Dong Mutian’s expression brightened. ”Yes!”

The phone call ended, and excitement flashed in Dong Mutian’s eyes. Perfect, with Dong San accompanying him, he could personally observe what his dear sister and that freeloader were up to, which would surely convince their father.

「...」

Su Ping felt he was the world’s biggest sucker.

Perhaps other Breeders and Beast Tamers didn’t realize what two thousand Forest Wolf Catalog Experience represented. It meant that Su Ping needed to spend several hours with each of fifty to sixty Forest Wolves, for a continuous half-month, to accumulate that much. Although he had quite a stockpile of Forest Wolf Catalog Experience, two thousand was still a lot.

Was it all to be wasted?!

Indeed, having returned to the Heart of Wood Cultivation Base, Su Ping didn’t idle around.

However, his two main research approaches had hit a bottleneck.

Old Sha’s Heart of Woods still had quite a way to go to break through from Proficient to Perfection.

As for the Papermen, although they had made progress in their Realm upgrades and Skills enhancement, they hadn’t reached the pinnacle of transformation, let alone Evolution.

It was hard to make any breakthroughs in these areas in the short term.

So, Su Ping turned his attention to the Cultivation of the Forest Wolf (Senlang type) and Elf Wolf!

Although the evolutionary potential of these two might not match that of the Wanmu Wolf, it was still something to do. Cultivating new evolved species would allow me to accumulate more experience in Pet Beast Cultivation, he thought.

Thus, he spent the two thousand Forest Wolf Catalog Experience as if they were water, refining the evolutionary steps for the Forest Wolf (Senlang type) and Elf Wolf.

And then, what did he see?

The refinement for the Forest Wolf (Senlang type) had cost eight hundred Forest Wolf Catalog Experience, yet looking at its refined Evolution method, Su Ping couldn’t even spot any difference in the steps at first glance!

[Forest Wolf: An advanced evolutionary species of the Forest Wolf, with decent Ability and a further extension of the Forest Wolf’s strength. However, it didn’t stand out in any particular aspect, as it was an Evolution through natural growth.]

[First (Preparation) Stage: Forest Wolf must reach Elite Fifth Rank and be older than 1 year!]

[Second Stage: Consume an Elite Level Wood Element Energy enhancement resource and, after each Level up, consume a resource of the same type.]

[Third Stage: After the Forest Wolf reaches Elite Tenth Tier, consume a Commander Level Wood Element resource to begin Evolution.]

That was it.

That was the Evolution process for the Forest Wolf (Senlang type).

It was ridiculously simple.

Compared to the complicated and intricate Wanmu Wolf, this Forest Wolf’s Evolution was straightforward, to say the least.

However, Su Ping’s eight hundred Forest Wolf Catalog Experience only served to add one detail to this Forest Wolf’s Evolution, within its second stage: ’Each Level breakthrough interval must be less than a month; other resources are also applicable for accelerating Level advancement.’

And that was it.

Who wouldn’t know that a shorter Evolution time is better?!

But when compared, the Wanmu Wolf indeed offered better value than this Forest Wolf.

It was just that evolving a Forest Wolf (the base Linlang type) with better Talent [e.g., into a Wanmu Wolf] incurred a slightly higher cost compared to evolving it into this Forest Wolf (the Senlang type).

The Elf Wolf was slightly better.

[Elf Wolf: A special Forest Wolf Evolver, with decent evolutionary potential and further mastery over the Life Attribute. It can be preliminarily used on other living beings, a rare Life-healing class Evolution; simultaneously, it has achieved a certain degree of initial Elementalization.]
